Sounds awesome! 🤘🏻
This clip is not a great moment for JY, but it's just a snapshot, guys. Let's not blow things out of proportion. He's been playing the same stuff for decades...and now all of a sudden they're asking him to learn new material (which he likely didn't write much of either)...and this is the beginning of the first tour in over a year... I just think he needs to get his sea legs back. And yeah, it might be argued that, "well, it's not like he didn't have time to prepare..." but it does seem like he has other issues going on from some other comments I'm reading (could be family illness...)
And yeah, maybe this is why Will is on stage, but let's just cut the guy some slack and give the band some time to get their on stage mojo going again.
He was taking care of his wife who passed away last year. It took a toll on him.
This is the year before his wife passed away. She had been having medical problems for awhile. I am surprised he was going on tour.
Do you have a setlist

@@ATalkingBadger I checked earlier it wasn't posted
@Jumping Jack thank you
I see they are still doing Miss America....ugh when will they retire that song??
@@BeautifulSpirit-kf5ld I agree, the old gal is past her prime. There are plenty of other JY songs they can do - Midnight Ride, Eddie, hell, even Captain America would do at this point.
So it's official, Will Evankovitch is now a member of Styx and JY looks like he's still struggling mightily to learn the new material, what little he actually wrote or played on for the COTC album. Must be why Evankovitch is up there on stage, so that he can pick up the slack. He's writing (and producing) so much of their material and creating their sound now he might as well be.
Will seems like a chill guy. Yeah looks like JY wasn't very on board much. When Crash Of The Crown came around he had to look at some notecards, probably forgot what the lyrics were
@@noahgutierrez-cruz7556 I just watched an interview with JY saying while he did his parts for COTC, he wasn't around as much because of personal issues. He didn't elaborate as to why so I'm not going to speculate to what that might be. That may explain why Will is there backing things up.
@Star Sportscards
Hopefully, Young is leaving.
Can't stand him or his dark persona
@@starsportscards8688 where is this interview?
@@BeautifulSpirit-kf5ld he is the sole remaining original member. Styx needs him.
JY’s not looking good. I know he’s like 72, but he’s really not looking good. I’m wondering if Will’s gonna replace him.
I wonder what will happen when JY can't tour anymore. Will Styx fire him? Hint, Hint!
Tommy"s calls the shots. I thought Deyoung was the dictator. Maybe not
@@pepperdog2039 lol
JY isn’t even playing??
What gives?
The beginning is a track from their new album...
Breaks my heart
@@andrewganzelli9358 yes but once the track stops and the band actually starts playing and singing he is barely playing anything and his guitar cannot be heard in the mix at all. kind of worrisome to me.
@@masque1313 oh crap. I may not sleep tonight
looks to me like he's playing.
JY is lost. Geez
Depressing
JY looks totally checked out. That is so unfortunate. The entire band looks lethargic. I hope that they pick up the intensity as this tour continues.
You have to remember they are all in their 60's and 70's. When you get to that age, you do get tired easier. I know, I'm 68.
@@rosemarybaker8820 i totally get it... It’s great they are still putting out music (great new album) and touring... but it’s sad to see JY declining... Even sadder that he does not contribute to the writing anymore, and that his voice is mostly abandoned from these last two records.
@@vinyljunkierecordshop1214 You are right. He doesn't look good. I hope he improves as they get back into touring.
@@rosemarybaker8820 Deyoung is 74 and blows this stuff away.
@@pepperdog2039 I don't like Deyoung.
Wow, pretty lousy, huh? Tommy up there using the name of a band the he never even formed. And JY...well, obviously he doesn't have much Styx left in him here.
