Words can not express how much I love this song, this is an exceptional song in every way possible. The music, the vocals, the lyrics, my gosh the lyrics make it as relevant now as it was back in the late 60's to early 70's! The lyric, "turn the earth to sand but commit no crime" just grabs my soul and mind. Also running through the "tions" and ending with communication, compassion, Solution, my gosh if we could do this in our lives and in the world we would certainly have a lot less problems. Thank you John Lodge for this beautiful and touching song. This song will always ring true in my heart.

I bought The Pretender as a 13 year old not yet aware of the effect it would have on me. I plunked down my hard-earned $5.99 and brought it home to the turntable in my parent’s living room. Lying on the red and orange shag carpet, I was absolutely transported by the poetry, imagery and music. I swear, I wore that album out. Some 45 years later, I had the distinct pleasure of seeing JB in concert in a very cool venue in CT with my son. It was one of those moments in life - the realization of a bucket-list item - and the show was surreal, as if I were back in the living room hearing it again for the first time. JB comes across as a pretty humble guy considering his immense talent - highly recommend seeing him live….and if you are lucky enough to have a son or daughter - bring them along to experience real artistry.

Saw them in Tulsa. Wish I’d known well beforehand. Found out the night before . Anyway , this guy is really awful. The rest of the band are your typical well rehearsed cover band. Terrible overall , mostly due to this guy.
