Just purchased this machine because I do everything myself so why not add this sexy machine to the shop. I tip my hat to you sir for learning to do it yourself ✌
Actually I sold it shortly, and bought an automatic Dolphin machine controll by iphone. No manual process. Well, enjoy your machine and thanks for visiting.
i own the same type of machine and there are some things you need to do to cut the keys correct. 1st on the jaws remove the silver nuts and just use the plastic wing nut to tighten the jaw that is why your keys keep sliding out of the jaw when you tighten the plastic knob 2nd when you cut the key you need to make multiple passes over the key starting from the right side of the key moving the cutter from the shoulder on the right side to the shoulder on the left in one motion you want to cut in the direction that the cutter spins. also, make sure to set the depth of the cutter and tracer on the part of the jaw that does not move so that you get a level cut.
Hey when you put the shim on the new key side do you also use one under the original key on the right side as well , you didn't make that clear ? Thanks..
You are correct but also I believe that the spring action on guide pin is for dimple cut keys only and you should be able to adjust it out. Eliminating the spring action should make it easier to get the depth of the cut correct.
hey Royce. can this style of machine also cut regular UK house keys (aka cylinder/yale style keys) or can these only be cut on the horizontal duplicating machines?
@@NWLibertarian they charge between 60 and 200 dollars for a transponder key clone and cut, depending on your area and the brand of dealership. You can literally buy the cutting machine, transponder programmer, key blanks and transponder chips for the same price. It's crazy. Might be a money spinner too.
perfect job , I got the same machine ,very very good for the price . Just cutting bits You must to buy separately better quality much more sharper. Thanks for sharing Yours expierance
Have a big problem with my left vise out of alignment. My left vise jaw where it cuts blank key started to shift since last week. Can I easily adjust by loosening some screws and re-balance the left vise? I lost a few keys and drilled on the vise instead lol without knowing a few times.
If your vice is moving than it came loose from the table. To fix you have to loosen the 4 screws that have a small nut on them that are on the top table that holds the jaws. this will release the top table with the jaws attached to the plate from the 2nd movement table that will stay attached to the machine . carefully lift off the plate once screws are loose there is ball bearings that Will fall out so dont lose any. Once removed you need to tighten the bolts that hold on jaw making sure the distance between the jaws is equal to the cutter and tracer because your keys won't cut right if it's not calibrated right. Also the screws that lock the table to te machine need to be tightened evenly or the movement or th platform will not be right it takes some trial to get just right. Hope this will help you good luck.
With 2 nuts on the vice, the blank will constantly move because you have tightened the 2nd nut onto the 1st. Neither will be holding the blank. Also, if you still have spring loaded movement on the height, you can only get a poor copy. You must tighten the height until the spring loaded head can not waffle.
You can get better clamping of the keys by removing the silver nuts on the key clamps and just use the plastic handles without those silver nuts which are used by the Chinese during transportation and should be removed in key cutting. Cheers
Good for you for giving this kind of thing a try.. Isn't it interesting how it upsets a certain type of person to see someone trying to learn something new? How is the machine now you've had it for a while? Seems worth it, or would you go with a different model if you had to do it over again?
You should compress the right guide holder's spring fully then set the cutter to that level. When you lower the guide pin into the key the spring should be fully compressed before clamping the vertical lock.
My advice? Go to a locksmith. If you have a transponder key, what are you going to do to program it? You could end up cutting the key poorly and getting it stuck in a lock. How much was the machine?
Take the nuts off between the vise and the T nuts. They were just there for shipping. This is what is causing much of your learning process frustration. Use the left hand linkage arm to control relative movement for key. The direction the cutter is moving can be very important, climb cut versus conventional. You'll get there.
I had to laugh,i thought you had to move the key clamp back and forward with the large handle on the left!:-)But you just hold the orange base plate.:-) Do you feel the movement sticky/notchy when you are moving key clamp away from you and towards you?
Isn't it amazing how people have to learn things and aren't born with an inert capability to immediately do something without error? Not like you and me though, eh?

Simple Living for hobby use or actual business? That’s a good machine actually. Popular.

Crazy cheap price for that machine. Crazy someone would buy one just to do a mech key on a xponder car....

Is it possible to cut a key without a copy on the other side? When customer has lost all keys scenario. If not how to do it?

@@matthews.5369 Sound like a little more work lol trial and errors. Thanks
If I were you I’d remove the nuts between the black tightener and the vice. Leave the washer.
I'd just go to a locksmith. How are you going to program a transponder key? Or are you just using extra cash to play around?
Thanks Great Video

I bought one too and the first key I have cut it with, it opens doors but it does not start the engine.
Likely a transponder key. Hold the original key next to it and see if the engine starts.
I mean it doesn't rotate ignition.
Hello were did you get it from far as to order you had code 998c what store

Does a Shim go under original key on the right side as well , or just under the blank on the left side only ??
Both sides need a shim
I just bought the machine and would like to practice. Where do you buy the blanks and what
is the part number? I cannot read it on the screen.

I dont think this is a lazer cutter its more like an end milling machine
Isn't it one that Silca has been making for decades?
I think lazer cut might be more like a nickname
Laser cut is just a term they use, they're all cut by a similar machine
It's just the name of the style of key cutting machine, not to use of lasers.
Így NEM szabad csinálni (meg kell tanulni ) mielőtt bohóckodsz .
