Do not heap up for yourselves teachers of the word for you have one teacher Christ alone. We are to be brothers and sisters because Christ is the head and we the body of the church. If it isn't the message of salvation gouge it out and throw it away it isn't what we are to consume.

The context of Romans 14 is the same as 1 Corinthians 8, which is eating CLEAN meats offered to idols. It's not talking about eating UNCLEAN meats, such as pork - which is not a "doubtful thing". From my experience, I've learned that cursing can be turned off and on. It's been true in my own life and I've seen it in the life of others. There's a lot of foul mouthed, so called, comedians making a living using it. However, when being interviewed on many shows they turn it off.

Reading the scriptures is different from studying the scriptures using prayer with the holy spirit guidance. This is he second time I watch this sermon I am grossed out by the metal eating man. If he's in heaven I will ask him how could you? Was it good? I have been without a television for almost twenty years. It helped to stay away from all secular programing music and so forth. However I do watch alternate media. I do my best to make sure it's biblically based. It's good to know what's going on around us. When the bill marriage is one man and one woman passed but the governor over turned. Does it mean we shouldn't bother to vote?

I believe most of the teachings of the seven day Adventists except life after death. Jesus told the true story of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man in hell asked Abraham to send Lazarus to cool his tongue being tormented in hell. The rich man said to send someone from the dead to warn his brothers of hell. Abraham says they have the prophets. If they don't believe the prophets they wont believe someone from the dead. Evangelist Max Solbrekken says the teaching the soul sleeps is not true. St. Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Pastor Max Solbrekken also pointed out what St Paul said. When your physical body dies your soul leaves it and goes onto hell or heaven.

I don't think worrying about our diet is particularly relevant in these last days. God told Noah he could eat anything as I recall. We no longer live in the Garden of Eden right? Nothing like a juicy steak and eggs meal.

I agree pastor Doug we must do as Job did "I have NOT departed from the commandment of HIS lips; I have TREASURED the words of HIS mouth MORE than my NECESSARY food" (Job 23:12), so true we are eaten what God NEVER commanded us to eat as our HEALTH RULES or COMMANDMENTS, we are eaten garbage literally as human beings on earth but we must not forget also that JEWS are so very jealous of TORAH and RULES or COMMANDMENTS God gave to our health but they have NOT Jesus, same way there are VENGAN people and VEGETARIAN people with no Jesus so, they could be healthy but what we should do being healthy without Jesus. We must NEVER forget revelation 14:12 "here is the PATIENCE of the SAINTS; here are THOSE who KEEP the commandments of God and the FAITH of Jesus" the most God requires from us and we need surrender to the Lord is our HEARTH (Proverbs 23:26), "because for a piece of bread a man will transgress" (Proverbs 28:21), "for by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread" (Proverbs 6:26),may the Lord help us to give our hearts to HIM and observe HIS ways. Not surprised at all by children cursing. As a millennial born in 1991, my generation was exposed to the world at a very young age. You learn all kinds of bad things from your cousins and classmates before the age of 10. I learned to curse at an Adventist school when I was 7 years old. It's something I'm still trying to clean up today but it's hard to eliminate parts of your vocabulary that have been there since you were a child.

The Spirit of God dwells in me, therefore all these things come naturally. They are not my works, but the works of God living in me through His Spirit. And this is the new covenant, to have the law written in your heart. Not to throw it in the trash. May you be blessed with wisdom and understanding.

God's Sabbath and Israel's Sabbath are different. In Genesis Chapter 1 verse 1 - 2 we read, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and covered with darkness while a mighty wind swept over the waters. Day 1. Then God created light and he separated light from darkness. Day 2. God created a dome that separated the waters below and above. Day 3. God made the dry land appeared. He called the dry land earth and the water the sea. He created the vegetation. Day 4. He created light to separate day and night. He created fixed times, seasons, days and years. He made two great lights to rule the day and the night (sun and moon?). Day 5. Then God created sea creatures, birds Day 6. God created animals, beasts and man. Notice that God's day 1, day 2, day 3 were not depended upon the sunlight or the shadow of the earth that caused our day and night. This is to say, God's day and night are not the same as our day and night which is a 24 hours cycle. In the 10 commandments, God commanded the nation of Israel to keep the Sabbath rest just as he had rested on the 7th day after the completion of his creation. Thus, Israel's Sabbath is just a foreshadow of God's Sabbath. It is just a copy. Now, if we try to keep Israel's Sabbath then it should be from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. However, if we are on Norway, or at the North pole, how will we observe the lengthy Sabbath day during April to August where the sun shines for about half a year? Also, if we claim to observe Israel's Sabbath, then people all over the world especially the so called Sabbath keepers like the Seventh Day Adventists should keep the Sabbath exactly at the same time the Jews in Israel keep their Sabbath. But this will violate the principle of sunset to sunset in other parts of the world, like Norway. Therefore, it is not possible to keep Israel's Sabbath. So far we have seen that Israel's Sabbath and God's Sabbath are different. We have also seen that we can't keep Israel's Sabbath too. But then Christians are the new Israel and Jesus did not come to do away with the law but to fulfill it. So what about the new Sabbath? Jesus said, come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. What does this rest mean? Is it the same thing as Paul talked about entering God's in Hebrews 4 : 1 - 11? Paul said Israel did not enter into God's rest when they entered into the land of Canaan. That is why Paul further said God spoke of another day to enter into God's rest. Paul then exhorted the Hebrews to enter into that rest the day they hear God's voice without hardening their heart. From this passage, we see that God's rest, or God's Sabbath is not about 7 day cycle but about finding our salvation in Jesus Christ. In the gospel, Jesus said that his Father is always working and likewise he was doing the same. This raises a question of how could God work always but still have his rest on the 7th day? The only logical explanation is that God rested from creating new things but he did not rest from sustaining the things he created already. Thus, every day (24 hours day of our day) is a Sabbath day for God till he the day he creates the new heaven and the new earth. And since we are to keep the new Sabbath, or God's Sabbath, of which Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, everyday should be a Sabbath day for us. We have found our rest in Jesus Christ. We don't have to roam restlessly to find rest in Judaism, Islam or Hinduism or Budhism.... We should observe this Sabbath rest till we receive our glorified body in heaven.

That is why we are to consume the Word of God, Jesus is the Word that is why he is the bread of life and drink his blood, the life giving blood.
Do not heap up for yourselves teachers of the word for you have one teacher Christ alone. We are to be brothers and sisters because Christ is the head and we the body of the church. If it isn't the message of salvation gouge it out and throw it away it isn't what we are to consume.

I believe most of the teachings of the seven day Adventists except life after death. Jesus told the true story of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man in hell asked Abraham to send Lazarus to cool his tongue being tormented in hell. The rich man said to send someone from the dead to warn his brothers of hell. Abraham says they have the prophets. If they don't believe the prophets they wont believe someone from the dead. Evangelist Max Solbrekken says the teaching the soul sleeps is not true. St. Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Pastor Max Solbrekken also pointed out what St Paul said. When your physical body dies your soul leaves it and goes onto hell or heaven.

I don't think worrying about our diet is particularly relevant in these last days. God told Noah he could eat anything as I recall. We no longer live in the Garden of Eden right? Nothing like a juicy steak and eggs meal.

I agree pastor Doug we must do as Job did "I have NOT departed from the commandment of HIS lips; I have TREASURED the words of HIS mouth MORE than my NECESSARY food" (Job 23:12), so true we are eaten what God NEVER commanded us to eat as our HEALTH RULES or COMMANDMENTS, we are eaten garbage literally as human beings on earth but we must not forget also that JEWS are so very jealous of TORAH and RULES or COMMANDMENTS God gave to our health but they have NOT Jesus, same way there are VENGAN people and VEGETARIAN people with no Jesus so, they could be healthy but what we should do being healthy without Jesus. We must NEVER forget revelation 14:12 "here is the PATIENCE of the SAINTS; here are THOSE who KEEP the commandments of God and the FAITH of Jesus" the most God requires from us and we need surrender to the Lord is our HEARTH (Proverbs 23:26), "because for a piece of bread a man will transgress" (Proverbs 28:21), "for by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread" (Proverbs 6:26),may the Lord help us to give our hearts to HIM and observe HIS ways. Not surprised at all by children cursing. As a millennial born in 1991, my generation was exposed to the world at a very young age. You learn all kinds of bad things from your cousins and classmates before the age of 10. I learned to curse at an Adventist school when I was 7 years old. It's something I'm still trying to clean up today but it's hard to eliminate parts of your vocabulary that have been there since you were a child.

God's Sabbath and Israel's Sabbath are different.
In Genesis Chapter 1 verse 1 - 2 we read, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and covered with darkness while a mighty wind swept over the waters.
Day 1. Then God created light and he separated light from darkness.
Day 2. God created a dome that separated the waters below and above.
Day 3. God made the dry land appeared. He called the dry land earth and the water the sea. He created the vegetation.
Day 4. He created light to separate day and night. He created fixed times, seasons, days and years. He made two great lights to rule the day and the night (sun and moon?).
Day 5. Then God created sea creatures, birds
Day 6. God created animals, beasts and man.
Notice that God's day 1, day 2, day 3 were not depended upon the sunlight or the shadow of the earth that caused our day and night. This is to say, God's day and night are not the same as our day and night which is a 24 hours cycle.
In the 10 commandments, God commanded the nation of Israel to keep the Sabbath rest just as he had rested on the 7th day after the completion of his creation.
Thus, Israel's Sabbath is just a foreshadow of God's Sabbath. It is just a copy.
Now, if we try to keep Israel's Sabbath then it should be from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. However, if we are on Norway, or at the North pole, how will we observe the lengthy Sabbath day during April to August where the sun shines for about half a year?
Also, if we claim to observe Israel's Sabbath, then people all over the world especially the so called Sabbath keepers like the Seventh Day Adventists should keep the Sabbath exactly at the same time the Jews in Israel keep their Sabbath. But this will violate the principle of sunset to sunset in other parts of the world, like Norway. Therefore, it is not possible to keep Israel's Sabbath.
So far we have seen that Israel's Sabbath and God's Sabbath are different. We have also seen that we can't keep Israel's Sabbath too.
But then Christians are the new Israel and Jesus did not come to do away with the law but to fulfill it. So what about the new Sabbath?
Jesus said, come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. What does this rest mean? Is it the same thing as Paul talked about entering God's in Hebrews 4 : 1 - 11? Paul said Israel did not enter into God's rest when they entered into the land of Canaan. That is why Paul further said God spoke of another day to enter into God's rest. Paul then exhorted the Hebrews to enter into that rest the day they hear God's voice without hardening their heart. From this passage, we see that God's rest, or God's Sabbath is not about 7 day cycle but about finding our salvation in Jesus Christ.
In the gospel, Jesus said that his Father is always working and likewise he was doing the same. This raises a question of how could God work always but still have his rest on the 7th day? The only logical explanation is that God rested from creating new things but he did not rest from sustaining the things he created already.
Thus, every day (24 hours day of our day) is a Sabbath day for God till he the day he creates the new heaven and the new earth.
And since we are to keep the new Sabbath, or God's Sabbath, of which Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, everyday should be a Sabbath day for us. We have found our rest in Jesus Christ. We don't have to roam restlessly to find rest in Judaism, Islam or Hinduism or Budhism.... We should observe this Sabbath rest till we receive our glorified body in heaven.
