I didn't know that he was Dominique Dunne's father! I loved his show!! RIP to him and his daughter!!
Years ago I read Dominick Dunne's autobiography and I really loved it... I couldn't put it down fell asleep with it in my hand and finished it first chance I got the next day .
He lives an interesting life and ends up in Southern California hanging out with people like Humphrey Bogart living fascinating life... then starts to crumble.
He talks about being so broke that he ended up selling some heirlooms family heirlooms that he treasured that were made of silver and he really love them but he had nothing to live on.
He says words I'll always remember and that I think people should take heed of especially if those people should ever want to be in Hollywood... he said once the stench of failure gets on you people can smell it a mile away and they really will do everything they can to avoid you...
Something like that... something along the lines of when they smell the stench of failure on you it is like death...
Then he talks about how he went home to the New York Connecticut area.. and how he was able to turn his life around.
The man is a wonderful writer.
Dominick Dunne was such a great storyteller ... the honesty with which he talks about shooting up cocaine ... and that man died from an overdose ... ?
Incredible . He's not a phony ; he doesn't try to cover up his past .
