you did it again Serge, you’re r the best... Thank you for your time...
Serge makes me become a better editor merely by watching an easy to watch tutorial.
I like the new studio set up Serge! Great tutorial!
Is this the same method now that they have added the tracker tool in FCPX? Or had it become easier with that new feature
Of all the text masking tutorials... this is the only one that showed the option of keeping things editable! I was thinking a adjustment layer with a mask might work too? but copying the clips is a great option too!
Your tutorials are my favorite!!! Thanks a lot!
I’m using Final Cut Pro for a while now, but learning from you using all the benefits of it - Thanks - definitely gone use this effect in one of my video projects in the future
Drop a link in the comments of this video. I’d love to see what you come up with!
This kicks ass (or something akin to ass kicking)! Consider this tutorial saved.
Awesome!!! Thank you Serge! I always appreciate the preparation you make for your videos. They always flow really nice and straight-to-the-point. You are my favorite tutorial channel!
Thank you Cory. Appreciate it!
Hi there, hoping you can assist me as I'm battling to find a tutorial to solve my problem. I added a rectangle shape and then centered a piece of text in it. Thereafter using keyframes, I'm able to animate the text in an upward position just above the rectangle. The problem I'm facing is that the idea I have in mind is for the text to hide/disappear once it moves out of the rectangle frame. When I try adding a mask (draw or shape), it seems to not stay fixed/stationary but instead moves with the text. Thus my text does not disappear and just ends up moving upward together with the mask.
Perfect. Please more Motion 5 Tutorials.👍😀
Serge, did you have a video that transitions water wave text?
Really helpful this video! Thanks for doing it. Short and direct on point especially because you explained all tree ways and the benefits of each. Thanks a lot!
still using this thank you
Excellent tutorial, thx!
Your in a another league! Wish I could keep up with you! FAB AS ALWAY. Straight to the point. Will give it a go tomorrow.
Always informative, Serge. Thank you!
Thanks for watching Tim!
Your content is amazing, I was wondering now with tracking being in FCP can the 3rd tracking shot you did with motion be done entirely in FCP now?
Great point! Me too (wondering)
Thanks for the video Serge! I actually had no idea about using the P for position! It was really helpful
Always happy to help!
@@Serge1913 I too was amazed at the way you chose the position tool to overcome this problem. I am just unable to know how you have picked up all this knowledge😳
Very good Serge I have the perfect content for this. I appreciate your knowledge and creativity.
Thanks Serge, learn a lot 👍
Happy to help!
Amazing, thank you!
So cool, Serge! Thanks a lot! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work 👍
Brilliant. You just saved me valuable time on my next project.
Happy to help!
Another great tutorial!
Thanks Jim!

Thank you greatly
Thanks for this tutorial, I'll definitely use it. ;)
Glad you enjoyed it!
So cool 😍 Can’t wait to try this! I‘m so glad I found your channel 💯👌🏽
Make sure to share what you come up with. I’d love to see it!
Nicely presented. 👍
I love your new studio Serge! Looks a bit like MKBHD's style! 😁
Thank Jeff. I wasn’t trying to make it look like MKBHD’s videos, but will take that as a compliment!
@@Serge1913 Just means you both have good taste 😛. Just finished the video and realized I know nothing about motion 5....time to do some research. I'm thinking about using text reveal with a hand motion (like swiping across the air), that should work similarly right?
Yes. I was actually going to do that for the video intro, but ended up cutting it out. And Motion is awesome. It’s a bit of a steep learning curve, but you can do amazing things with it!
@@Serge1913 Thanks Serge!!
VERY COOL MAN! ONCE AGAIN U'VE DONE A CRACKING TUTORIAL ,THANK U!
Random question here, but: Are you from Richmond, BC?
I am not. I am a Canadian though. Just a couple provinces east of there
thanks Serge,
Thanks for watching!
I suck at masking, though thanks for the cool video 🌞👌
Thanks for watching! What part of masking do you have issues with? Or is it just the amount of time it takes?
@@Serge1913 It's trying to move the contact points well enough to make the motion look smooth. No matter how hard I try, and I've been trying on and off during various projects over the past four years, the motion looks choppy. For example, that first clip you showed, with the subject running in front of the text, the subject's body wouldn't look consistent from frame to frame. I can do two or three frames competently, after that it's a mess :)
Very useful. I’m new to Motion so the final technique was fascinating.465
Wow Great!!!!
Thanks David!
dude it is amazing I love your tutorials, show us more and more about Motion 5 / FCPX !:D
MAKE BETTER VIDEOS on the shelf on the right. Always about focus and motivation to get better. Thank you Serge!
