Thank you for your videos - I am currently in the process of enrolling into a program but it’s scary. I am in a good paying corporate 9-5 and trying to transition into something I would enjoy that isn’t as lucrative is the only thing holding me back. But I can’t deal with this under whelming feeling of not feeling fulfilled.
Hii! Thanks for your comment! I totally felt something similar to what you're saying now. The pay difference is very scary in the beginning especially because it's hard to know for certain how much you'll make in your first couple years as a therapist. But in return, (in my experience) this job is much more meaningful than what I previously did. I remember it being such a hard decision for me as well. Best of luck in figuring out what works best for you!!
thank you for making these videos!! they're super helpful. I used to work in tech as well (also in the bay area) and transitioned to healthcare (on the system side) 2 years ago. I've been thinking about going back to school to get my masters in social work & be a therapist but I have a lot of financial anxiety about it. Would you be open to chatting 1:1? Would love to learn more about your experience in grad school and as an associate! :) Take care!
I recently spoke with an LMHC/ Art therapist associate and she opened her own private practice as an associate. I didn’t realize that was an option! But she just has to get the supervision. I wonder if laws are different in California as opposed to Washington
Congrats to almost completing Grad school!
THANK YOUUU!!

Yes I believe as long as you're under the licence of another therapist, you're able to work in private practice as an associate!
