Simplified Bee Drying Method - Straight from Alcohol with No Washing

Previously we've posted methods for washing and drying bee specimens that involved washing them in soapy water then drying and fluffing up with hair dryer. Those methods work but they are time consuming and come with the risk of over drying bees making them crispy and easy to damage when pinning. This new method is for bees that are stored in alcohol and cuts out the washing in soapy water step. We've found that isn't necessary and just being in alcohol gets them clean enough. It's much easier to dry them off when them come straight out of alcohol. With this method some bees (especially bumble bees) may need a little extra fluff, so the "Bee Drying Vortex" might still be needed for those :) See the methods for that here:
