Asia I LOVE the way you set boundaries and not let people away you when it comes to running your homestead your way ❗❗❗ Don't sway !! I love it !!! Do what works best for you after all your sharing YOUR journey and you have a right to do it YOUR way !!
Asia I believe you are a good steward and even though you make these videos for us to gain insight into urban gardening it’s your homestead and how you run it is up to you. You raise quails to cull for food and you tried something different and it was not the result you wanted. How things work for one of us watching has no influence on your final decisions for your space. All that you do we learn from and we take what we need and we leave the rest and that’s what you have to do for yourself in your home. Thank you for caring and letting us learn without judgment. ❤❤❤
Hey Asia I love how you are so transparent and know exactly what to do on your homestead . I see a lot of people mentioning Neosporin my suggestion would be to try Manuka Honey its natural and it works extremely well on open deep wounds. I would love to see another culling video. Side note.. I should of mentioned this on your other channel but I would love to see how you clean your cast iron pan after cooking beef hash or meats in it.
Hi! Thank you! I want to be as transparent as possible to help others. Ok, thank you! I haven’t heard of that but I will look it up. I appreciate the suggestion. Ok, I’ll work that in. I recorded once and post the footage 🤦🏾♀️.
Hey Asia! Your Garden Your Rules!!! I still love all your videos and content. Now, about this tallow, I’ve never heard of this before and now I have to have it! Thanks for sharing! ❤❤
Thank you 🤗. I am loving it! I found out about it in 2024 and have been using it ever since. I was able to find the suet (unrendered tallow)at a local farmer’s market. You’re welcome!
Hey Asia! Love your honestly and transparency with your homestead. FYI, I believe you are only supposed to lock the lid of your crockpot when you are moving it (I.e. transporting something in it). When you’re cooking in it, the lid shouldn’t be locked as it could build up pressure and potentially break the glass lid.
Hi 👋🏾! Thank you. I want to be a real as I can for the sake of others who want to do this as well. O my, I’ve literally always locked it when I cook in it. Thanks!
Thank you for being transparent with your quail. I need to know in case I decide to raise them. You have to do what you need to do for your homestead. I love making natural remedies. Good luck on your natural healing remedies.
I've had this issue in the past , I use Neosporin to heal up the head wounds. It works great and keeps the wounds from getting infected. This would happen when they just had the small house, when I made them an additional run area and left the doors open everyone had room to run and get away. Never happens again.
Hey hey, Asia!! I love that you’re using tallow and venturing into herbal tinctures!! ❤😊 As a suggestion, using a silicone spatula would remove up to 90%, if not more, of the whipped tallow from your bowl. And, another helpful tip when decanting your tinctures, using cheesecloth to strain your herbs will allow you to really squeeze out the oil/alcohol.. be sure to do this over an ultra finely mesh sieve.. Keep up the inspirational videos!! ❤
Hey!! Thanks, I’m loving it as well! Thank you for the spatula suggestion. I’ll do that the next time. I normally will put the herbs through a cheesecloth (I actually said it in the recording but cut it lol). I wasn’t feeling my best so I just didn’t this time. Will do! Thank you 🤗
Hello Asia. I've been enjoying your channel almost a year now. Thank you for sharing your journey into Urban gardening and homesteading. I hope you don't mind me sharing your channel with others?
You are awesome. Do what you need to do for your homestead. Watching you is so encouraging. I have a successful backyard homestead because of your videos I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and journey. Keep it up.
You can get lights that all link together so you only need one outlet to run them. Barrina sells some, good to get ones with switches on each light so you can easily turn them off even if they’re all linked. But even without switches they’re very easy to use and I love having just one plug.
Hi Asia, chickens are trouble when they start to dominate the others especially when you don’t have the space to separate them I’m going through that right now with my layers, and I don’t butcher I’m afraid of that wish I could, keep warm ❤❤
Hi 👋🏾! I agree. O no, I’m sorry to hear that. I hope they start to get along soon. I completely understand. Thank you! I’m doing my best to. We have a warm-ish front coming through so I’m happy about that!
How's your coop holding up? We have the same one, just the larger size. We've had to reinforce the bottom already 🤦🏼♀️ I think we're going to build one this summer but damn does it seem overwhelming 😂😂
Hey Alyssa! I’m watching your new video right now lol. Mine are holding up pretty good. Darn sorry to hear that. Lol totally understandable. Hopefully it’ll be easier than you expect but I definitely get it lol.
Hi Asia I’m learning so much from you on quails. I’m seriously considering getting some. My daughter is trying to discourage me. She said the meat of quail tastes like duck. What’s your opinion on that?
O yay! I’m happy to hear that! I can agree with that IF it is not cooked well done. I learned that the hard way lol. I am not a fan of duck. I make sure it is good well when we eat it, love it that way. I prefer the breast of it. I’m not a big fan of the legs but the breast is lost of the meat anyway. Hope this helps!
Here in north Florida, we got some extreme temps.some. Folks a/ c units froze over .child Florida don't like them extremes 😅😅😅.My garden did ok .I didn't cover Jack, but my young citrus tree.I can't be babying those veggies. I got some good food from them.I will see if they bounce back. It's collards and cabbage, so they SHOULD be ok.❤ I can't say Jack how folks run the show where they pay taxes 😅
I saw that in the news. I hope you are staying warm and that it passes for you all soon. I am happy to hear your garden did ok! I hope they do. Collards and cabbage are pretty cold hardy. Lol thank you for that 🤗.
I don’t like integrating chickens. Too much stress!! Whenever I get new ones, they have to go in their own coop. I experimented with making my own body butter before the holidays from tallow I made a couple years ago. I mixed in some coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil & essential oils for a nice scent. I put in cute jars and gave away as gifts. Everyone ❤ it!! My daughter especially likes to use it in her hair. I ❤ it on my poor chapped winter hands, but it is good head to toe.
I totally understand. O ok that sounds like a nice mix. I’m going to try new carrier oils with mine in the future. Awesome! It’s always nice to make some the while family loves!
It’s pretty normal behavior when integrating. Chickens do it too. The next time I integrate I’ll put them all in a box for a little while before putting them in the coop together. In my research I found that this could help.
Good luck with the coveys. Girl, I couldn’t do what you do. But I have to remember, they’re not pets, and violence towards others isn’t tolerated no kinda way. I love the tan hat. Whipped talo cream? Looks good enough to eat! lol!!
Hi Asia. Great video. I should have commented before, but on all of my research & experience, the best way to integrate birds is at night when they are sleeping. When they wake it will feel normal to them. I have seen other homesteaders do this successfully. Just information 😄 Hope this helps. Good job. I like the way you handled potential naysayers before hand. Admire your integrity.
Thank you!! I appreciate your understanding. Thank you, it’s become my favorite. Yes! I am loving it and I don’t have to use nearly as much. Lol it does give an edible vibe!
Asia, since you are always talking about how cold it is, this short made me think of you right away. ruclips.net/user/shortsay-tFI_ZlYc?si=d153a2-G1Zj0TjJq
I think anyone who doesn’t understand your decision to cull isn’t fully part of the homestead life. I really enjoy your videos. I try to watch all the commercials so you can make all of your money😊. What I do is at night I set you channel to continue and play the next and the next video. That way if I should fall asleep your videos will go on and on and you get your ads watched. Hint hint.
Just have to say I love how sensitive you are to your birds. I am so inspired by you nd what you do Thank you for being so transparent, love that.
Awww thank you! I love having them here and I want there time here to be comfortable. You’re welcome! Thank you for the comment!

Thank you 🤗! I figured I would address it in the video and people could make their own choice. I appreciate the comment!

Glad you were able to find the fighter out the bunch. Thanks for sharing! Happy gardening!!!
Thank you! Me too! You’re welcome! Happy gardening to you as well.
You are a wonderful inspiration. Practical and efficient. I am hoping to have a homestead one day. All the best for 2025!
Awww thank you! All the best to you as well in this year!

Ok thank you for the Neosporin tip! I’m going to put some on them today!
You will love shop lights! So much easier and less to plug in.
Good job stewarding your homestead! ❤
Ok cool! Thank you for the tip!
💜💜💜 thank you! 🤗

Hi 👋🏾! I’m happy to hear that! You’re welcome! Nope, I don’t mind at all.
You're welcome for the bowl 😊
Thank you so much! It really has been a life saver with the tallow!

I was getting the lights that you have now do u like them. And how you come out the egg fighting Watchu made fa quail 😅
I love them! The only reason I’m thinking about it is because of the plug situation and my vintage electrical system lol. Right 🤦🏾♀️.
Hey Friend. Great video Asia 👍🏽
Hi Sue 👋🏾! Thank you!!
I enjoyed this video .Thank you
Thank you! You’re welcome! I appreciate the support!
Hey Asia, what's going on with the worm bin are you still doing that...😊
Hi! They are still up and running. There’s an update in one of the two videos I just posted. It’s closer to the end though.
Hello Family!🙏🏾💛💛💛🫂
Hello 👋🏾!
I don't know about cinnamon for mold but it sure help with fire ants 😂
Lol o ok. Made the laundry room smell good! 🤣

Hiiiiii 🤗
Hello 😊Awesome video 📼 thank you ❤
Hi 👋🏾! Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
@ Stay warm 🔅 and you are welcome 😊
Is it possible they don't have enough space? that's always my first thought in the event of violence..
I do not believe that is the case. Quail live in very small homes and the coop they are in is pretty big.
I found out today that one of my close friend and fellow gardener watch’s you too
O yay! I hope she enjoys it!

I have to agree with your son. Asia, you can sell your herbal creations.
She is head quail. There is a pecking order.I takes about two weeks for them to get adjusted. Its normal with all farm birds.
Hello Family! ❤
Hello 👋🏾
The pecking order continues.
Quail Cam ™️ Episode 101
Yep you are correct.
If you got snow where you are, your garden may be okay. Snow acts as insulation from bitter cold and as Mother Nature's ultimate drip irrigation.
We didn’t have snow that night 😩🤣. The only time I would have wanted it lol.

You’ve got this. Anyone who feels the need to judge your actions should maybe go check their own coop 😒💙
Thank you 🤗
Wow. Have you talked to a vet or quail farmer about this behavior?
It’s pretty normal behavior when integrating. Chickens do it too. The next time I integrate I’ll put them all in a box for a little while before putting them in the coop together. In my research I found that this could help.

afternoon
Good Afternoon!
Asia, you need to start selling your herbal creations. Just saying.
I’m thinking about that, just haven’t made a decision. I have to think about the liability that could come with it.
Asia, since you are always talking about how cold it is, this short made me think of you right away.

Don`t hurt that bird. I will never watch you again.
I will understand if you don’t.
Bye! 👋🏽 😅
Don’t watch, it’s not that damn deep! If you don’t like a channel that’s your damn business ! See ya! 👋🏽 🤡
