    Nice video. I have a quick question. I successfully managed to plant it in my outdoor guppy pond and it grew nicely in a garden soil substrate. However, it won't grow at all in my discus tank(it has the cheap glass sand substrate). Just melts off. How do I acclamate it?

    Does guppy grass live in low lights? My old lights creates Algae so, I installed less bright lights.

      Algae problems use CO2 or Exel or add a lot more plants. If you have a canal near by get like 30+ snails. Easier to get snails at night. Just a few options you can try. Excel works really good.

    I just got some, and in my tank it has turned a darker color, with a pink/purple stripe in the middle of the leaves, I hope it's ok, I have some flow in the tank I worry about

      probably don't want it over running there plant tanks I'm in surrey bc and our PetSmart's don't have a plant selection they have some bamboo and a few other stem plants basically all they got may be better selection in the USA not sure.

      PetSmart and PetCo are chain stores and don't have interesting unique products. It also isn't possible to inventory this stuff. Big box store need to be able to track quantities to have consistent supplies. Guppy grass doesn't fit that bill.

  • @MrOgger151

    Got some online and 99% died then after a few weeks it kicked in now it's growing out of control.

  • @peterbott1877
    @peterbott1877 5 лет назад +5

    I hate this stuff. Once it gets in your tank it's very hard to get rid of without pulling the whole tank down. I have an ongoing battle with this stuff and am systematically going through my tanks to eradicate it.
    Try and pull it out and it breaks into pieces of which each small piece will then keep propagating.
    I'd rather have Duck weed than this stuff again.

    • @peterbott1877
      @peterbott1877 3 года назад

      @@Eaterna yes I do now, but not when I had the guppy grass. I could imagine how fast it would grow with Co2, would be an absolute nightmare.
      It's a good plant, but just too invasive for a community tank IMO.
