Nice video. I have a quick question. I successfully managed to plant it in my outdoor guppy pond and it grew nicely in a garden soil substrate. However, it won't grow at all in my discus tank(it has the cheap glass sand substrate). Just melts off. How do I acclamate it?
Algae problems use CO2 or Exel or add a lot more plants. If you have a canal near by get like 30+ snails. Easier to get snails at night. Just a few options you can try. Excel works really good.
I just got some, and in my tank it has turned a darker color, with a pink/purple stripe in the middle of the leaves, I hope it's ok, I have some flow in the tank I worry about
probably don't want it over running there plant tanks I'm in surrey bc and our PetSmart's don't have a plant selection they have some bamboo and a few other stem plants basically all they got may be better selection in the USA not sure.
PetSmart and PetCo are chain stores and don't have interesting unique products. It also isn't possible to inventory this stuff. Big box store need to be able to track quantities to have consistent supplies. Guppy grass doesn't fit that bill.
I hate this stuff. Once it gets in your tank it's very hard to get rid of without pulling the whole tank down. I have an ongoing battle with this stuff and am systematically going through my tanks to eradicate it. Try and pull it out and it breaks into pieces of which each small piece will then keep propagating. I'd rather have Duck weed than this stuff again.
@@Eaterna yes I do now, but not when I had the guppy grass. I could imagine how fast it would grow with Co2, would be an absolute nightmare. It's a good plant, but just too invasive for a community tank IMO.

I have a love hate relationship with guppy grass haha. Nice video!
What do you love/hate about it?
It was the stuff I gave you a long time ago with that group from the NJAGC I think.
Can this be used as a foreground plant?
Does guppy grass live in low lights? My old lights creates Algae so, I installed less bright lights.

I just got guppy without knowing how fast it can grow and take over a tank with other plants... wish me luck lol
Do you ship to Canada ?

Yes
Great info. Thank you for sharing! - Little Bobby
Love Your Shirt.
Just tie it to a rock or wood do you??
How do you clean it? I am having a real problem with food getting caught in it and molding.

Can it grow when olanted on gravel?
I don’t think so no, maybe if you added root tabs?
@@lykeprice9239 thank you
Yeah np lol
I think it depends on the size of the gravel but root tabs will def help
There’s also fertilizer you can add to the water, that could help too
It’s sold out!!! When can I expect more to be available?
Great plants for guppies
Do they get roots
?
Yes.
What is your website?
How do you plant it?
Just throw a bunch in your tank. It'll settle itself.

How much lumen is required for growing guppy grass in a 10 inch bowl?
Hey there! I was wondering, can I plant this into gravel with a layer of nutrient soil in the bottom? Thanks!
Yes u can but it grows slightly different when planted vrs floating kind of like submerged and emerged growth does ☺️
If this plant is so great then why PetSmart and PetCo refuse to sell guppy grass ?
Cute fish because like duck weed it can become a nuisance

It's considered a nuisance

Got some online and 99% died then after a few weeks it kicked in now it's growing out of control.

Oh, lmao. I'll be sure to keep this in mind. Just got these recently.
Is duck weed easier?
@@pancake1655 yeah duckweed floats, so easier to remove, but still a pain just not as bad.
Does your tank have c02?

This plant are so annoying
Added to my tank and it died within a week.
Oof
Well don’t plant it maybe that’s why
