The pot is kept opened. It will make mosquitoes laying eggs in it. Bcs thr is water in it.
Some copper and it will not. For if it's in the house. Find the solution instead of the problem. They're beautiful!
You could add a device to make a current in the pot. Like water pump.
You could also place a netting on the top, so the mosquitoes can't get to the water. But you can pour water.
There are mosquitos bombs that can be added to the water thus killing off mosquitoes larvae
A diya or a saucer of the size of the opening can be used as a lid to prevent that

I think the clay is porous like any clay pot. The water is going to slowly seep through. Thus keeping the grass moist towards the roots. Not wet but hydrated. I'm sure it still is best to spray it here and there. And for the people worrying about mosquitoes, that's ridiculous first of all you can change the water. And if you are lazy you can add copper Or hydrogen peroxide, there are many non-toxic things to add to water that mosquitoes don't care for.
I doubt anybody would ever, but it sits long enough to create mosquitoes. I know you never said this part but I just had to re-add it.. Somebody mentioned it in a main comment instead of just seeing the beauty.Just a little thinking and it's just a gorgeous thing not an issue. I hope I helped
