    In this episode, I watch how the cycle of a saltwater aquarium goes by testing Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate. The cycle of a reef tank can take some time, especially the nitrification bacteria.
    One thing I learn with Reef aquarium is being patient, so we will wait until the water seems not toxic for living creatures.
    I also how to aquascape a small saltwater aquarium with limited height. The key of aquascaping a small aquarium is living space for corals to grow, they will make the scape overtime.
    Because I use black sand in this nano marine tank, I avoided to use pure Marco rock that has a white appearance, so I went with the Caribsea LifeRock that are cover with paint and small pebble that mimic real Live rock.
    Has for the light for a small reef aquarium like this I decide to go with the Aqua Illumination Prime 16HD with there mountain arm.
    The salinity Pen I use: • Poseidon Salinity Pen ...
    The dimension of this AIO Nano aquarium:
    60x30x20cm (24x12x8")

      Aqua Splendor I usually get Marine Depot ads, but lately its been mixing in lots of zombie video games. As long as they don’t become Marine Zombies we’ll be ok.

    Its very satisfying and fun to see every step to the build. (sometimes twice ;) It must take a lot of time to stage every shot and edit it but I'm happy you do it!

      Sssh we don't talk about the other aquarium :P
      It doesn't take THAT much time to be honest but compare if I wasn't doing video the aquarium would have a LOT of corals by now hehe :P
      I do it because I know I love to see that from others, step by step, learning on the way, it's great! So I thought people would love to see this also

    The filter intake is not skimming the surface of the water you still have stuff floating on the surface. Maybe make something that will adjust the flow in the intake which will cause it to overflow better or spill over so it skimms the surface better.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  4 года назад +1

      Yes I was worry about it, and it's confirmed. I try different thing but It's not working, I would need to cut the last chamber a bit more down, block the fence inflow on the bottom. yeahh... that height of the aquarium still haunt me =/

    Also, I always thought that washing the cotton filter under tap water would kill the good bacteria inside of it due to the chlorine. It might just be not true.

    to disperse pressure point from the lamp you could use silicone to adhere a stainless steel washer onto the factory clamp. bumping it would be a terrible way to break the glass :(

    Also I love that you say to document everything. I do also. I use an App called AquaticLog. It's been a life saver to have all the data organized and in one place.

      @@AquaSplendor yea it's probably a lot to do videos. I actually filmed everything since I've started my tank I just haven't found the time to edit the video. Hey I had a question for you. I'm looking at getting a larger Refugium and trying to figure out my substrate. I use Koral Lagoon by Brightwell Aquatics now but was thinking about mixing it with something else. CaribSea Eco Complete aquarium substrate. It's for fresh water but didn't you use it? Do you know if I could use it in Saltwater? Would it hurt my already established eco-system?

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  4 года назад +2

      @@scotty2salty327 The algae will love this substrat, but not so sure for the corals in long run, if you see my black sand comparison, check in the comments, I posted a link with the ICP test results.

      @@AquaSplendor Yikes I just checked your post on Reef2Reef with the ICP test. Iron 40ppm? 😯 And silicates super high! Just FYI I called Marine Depot and they said NOT to use it in Saltwater for the exact reason your test results showed. I decided to go with Mineral Mud instead. I have a small CPR hang on back fuge and I'm upgrading to a medium 6" bigger. I use Brightwell Koral Lagoon Substrat in it now. I'm going to re-use that and additionally put a layer of mineral mud on the bottom. I also ordered a Cheato Max LED from Innovative Marine. This fuge is gonna be singin'!

    Don’t get the way you do this why are you only putting the rock in after you have added the bacteria why not first so it seeds quicker.
