An ecosystem of reef aquariums is a constant battle, finding this right balance can be challenging at first, especially during the earlier stage of your saltwater aquarium.
In this video I removed 4 Vayssierea felis, in case they would eat possible future Feather Duster I planned to add.

I started to notice a brown jelly infection on my Goniopora, I decide to treat it with the product I had on my disposal: Revive and Hydrogen Peroxide
For the first time I show how I feed my coral, and will probably come back on this subject in the future.
I have some corals I would like to bring from my "lab" tank to the nano, however they come with hitchhikers on their skeleton, to prevent problems I show how I deal with them.
List of corals added in this video:
- Brown with Green center Candy Cane - Caulastrea Tumida sp.
- Green Candy Cane - Caulastrea Curvata sp.

I will make an update on the next episode to see I was able to kill the infection. I'm a bit worried bacteria can easily survive in the crack of the coral despite the dipping.

Without exception your photography and choice of soundtrack is the best reef related content IMO on here, reef keeping is a learning curve and its interesting to follow your journey
Agreed
Can't get enough of your reef videos.
I hope this tank gets better, I have been following it from the start!!
I mean, the tank is great, but definitely could be better indeed ;), it's just starting, more to come!
It's a constant battle but worth it, you have a very nice aquarium
By far my favourite tank I’m following, good luck buddy!
The only product I used for a discosoma's wound and my euphyllia's jelly : yellow Betadine
One bath of 20min. Disease never came back
Caulastrea are superb !!!
Made a little search, doesn't appear to have the yellow version in my area but seems like a iodine product, good to know, thank you!
@@AquaSplendor Yes it is. I work at the hospital so it is easy for me to find it.
In your pharmacy I'm pretty sure you will find. It cost LESS and I think it's better than what we can find in aquariophilic shop haha
@@FishandPeace omg, iodine at pharm 5$, same at LFS 25$, totaly.
That being said their different iodine solution, so be precaution prefer to use a formula that works for our needs.
what concentration did you use?
When I see your videos I hit like before watch it! Keep up with the amazing work
Gosh thank you, my channel is on a death spiral, so this help!
Another great episode. I like how your sharing all of things your doing and encountering. It is a great help to teach us who are new to the hobby.
Its good to see that keeping a Reef is not always glorious, that it's a process and it's takes time and work.
The nano is looking great.
Nice Tank and Video... i like it .
I’ve had good luck using iodine for bacterial infections, also CoralRX takes care of brown jelly extremely well
I rushed everywhere today to fine Iodine dip, found the one I use in the past (that was expire).
Interesting to know with Coral RX and brown Jelly, thx for that, never use that product before
@@AquaSplendor ahh darn, well good luck with your Goni, it’s quite beautiful!
I know that in Canada we get rather boned by government regulations and the companies feeling that we're too small a market to bother going through the process to sell needed meds. I've honestly had good luck with getting them via ebay. Customs haven't bothered me, at least not yet. Fingers crossed that holds if I need anything else!
amazing sir, I always look forward towards the material you put out, amazing quality, content, and cannot forget the epic sound tracks!!!
Very instructive video 👍.
Always love watching your videos! Ever since I’ve seen one of them I was hooked!! Keep up the good work! You have inspired me to take videos of my tank.
Hit that record button and share it to the reef community :D, it's fun :)
Awesome video
all your video's have such high quality!!! love seeing your video's
Very good series, I'd like to see more of the other acquarium too! Greatings from italy ;)
Aaah, I don't show this one, it's my personal tank :P :P, I want to shut it down actually, but it's hard to close. (To give proper care to other new aquarium project)
Top Video. Like all you others.💙 you can ad like one ore two little fish for you nitrate👍🏻
Yeah, I could find the right fish but, hmmm will see
Your support meanS a lot 😉... love your videos
Keep going, you might see a correction eventually ;)
Your videos get me through the day and continually find new inspiration. It’s truly art and you’re doing a great service to the hobby by making these. But we need more 🤣 thanks again
@@ryancrawbuck7753 Thank you :)
More to come ;)
use iodine most effective against any bacterial infection. Dip for 5 mins and then swish in freshwater repeat for 3-4 days and it will turn around
Yesss I wanted to use this but could receive my order in time and I rushed today to find one, was harder to find then expect in my LFS in my region but finaly found one
amazing video!!!
Your vids are amazing!
Just being an observer here, but I think all these chemicals and additives are the problem. Just think briefly on How coral aquariums were kept 20, 30, or 40 years ago. My very first fish tank had a slate bottom lol. My fish thrived. There weren't many additives either or LED lights or HO t5.
Agree with you, food is a fine balance, but I'm not too concern about it. Eventually with time the aquarium find a balance (when I keep the since maintenance).
Food definitely fueled cyano/diatom/dino to different degree.
Now what I don't fully understand is why do I have such low phosphate, it came back at 0 again. I'm very confuse, was expecting a minimum but bio, plain 0 hmmm
Awesome video as usual! Question: you gave corals plenty of food every day. Does it impact on nitrates/phosphates level ? As I can see you don't have problems with algae. Thank you
Not every day, every Sunday, at time to time during week I feed the fish/shrimps and by occasion feed the coral at the same time.
Regular Water change is the key.
Right now I'm unsure why my phosphate is so low to be honest
@@AquaSplendor thank you for clarification. My fault :). Because after my 2-3 times feeding of my corals I start thinking - oh, my babies super hungry, need to feed them immediately :).
Man your Videos are crystal clear :) what do you use to shoot them ?:)
Check in description 😉
@@AquaSplendor ahhh thank you
What light schedule do you run on the prime 16hd
The easy setup from the app
Good area. .2. To .5.
I like it around 0.04 to 0.1 ;) this where I had the best results in all my different tank (mixed) personally, but I don't chase too much, prefer to stabilize, simply.
@@AquaSplendor in my 45. I built. Bsps for first time. I've beennreefing 35 yrs. Dove for 12 yrs. ?22. In my 20. ?37. Blue lights only.
I think Amino Acid is main problem for your dino and cyano . . especially when you mixed it with coral food ..
Uh oh, you probably right 😅
The poor little fellow :(
Who? Butter?
@@AquaSplendor The Nudibranch.
@@barryhutchinson3977 Not a nudibranch! Sea slug ;), I think I remove a total of 7 so far now.
What type of sea slug ?
I don't understand your question?
It's written in the video and description?
Plants aquarium make videos in Frome india
This tank seems expensive 🤔
Dude, you have no idea, but at least I buy coral under 100$ in general.
But yeah it hurt... and I love it
$unfortunately...$
I absolutely love your videos but I have to admit you kill my soul every time you just toss your hands in there without gloves. Or handle them with out.
Oufff you will end end up soulless 😅
Can't because of the camera
And in 36 year I never had issue 😉
Watched half you veidos of this tank and you had more problems than good times with this tank. For me it is better to just shut down this tank than this. Sorry but it is, you are not that good in keeping small tanks, or too little knowledge or something else but it is as it is. Go with something else or bigger tank that is easier to maintain
Wow, talk about focusing about that 1% negativity.
The tank is doing extremely well, I'm sorry for your perception 😔
I do magnify on potential issue to prevent any big failure. This help other to show the other side of reefing to be aware of.
I could have choose to show only the good like other social media influencer to simply get more views, but I refuse doing this.
I think that it is a terrible habit in the hobby to just quit as soon as their are problems. Try to solve the problems on your own. I prefer to have my tank a more natural look so i dont care as much about algae and stuff. Others may say it has problems and stuff but its only natural in a reef for these things to appear. The tank isn’t even in a bad enough condition to consider taking apart. No need to be so negative
@@waffleman3437 yea right i also love more natural and my is not clean of algae but this tank is empty, there is not lot of corals that grow in thank, almost every coral died, that is reason why I told better shut down tank and start again than this. Sometimes is better start again than have only problems in tank
@@dostepan1 this is fair I still dont think that this tank is within conditions to tear down especially just at the end of the competition.
@@dostepan1 What the heck, where do you get that hatred about coral dying, do even see my tank!? Have you followed all the series of videos? Everything is explained on why some issue appears, the tank is doing superb. geez
