Great tribute to Mark 'The Bird'! Fydrich. Everyone loved him here in Michigan. Couldn't wait till he pitched his next game those couple of years!!

Fun fact on Elston Howard: Contrary to what some think, he didn't play his whole career with the Yankees. Most of his career was with the Yankees, but in August (8/3) 1967, he was traded by the Yankees to the Boston Red Sox where he finished his career. He finished 1967 (the Impossible Dream season) there and played in 1968 there.

Chris, great show. Many of these guys were before my time, but I enjoy learning about them. Thanks!

Got George Foster’s autograph this past “Black Friday”weekend in Cincinnati. George is a great individual when you meet him at shows. Always joking around with fans.

George was the only player to hit 50 home runs from 1966 to 1989! He was my favorite player when I was a kid. That black bat got me into trouble as a player myself! 😂. Yeah, none of these 4 should be in HOF.

Sadly, I think you are or right about Elston Howard and George Foster, but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they got in. One guy I think deserves to get in is Rocky Colavito. He didn’t have a long career and tailed off at the end, but he was one of the most feared hitters in the AL for about 10 years. Same with Roger Maris. There are a few others I’m sure. Keep up the great work!

Catchers are so under represented in the HOF. They are the Field General and a lot of things that they do don’t show up on a stat sheet. It’s very subjective and this is why they don’t get the love, in my opinion.
The same could be said for any defensive players. Omar Vizquel comes to mind for me.
Even as I type this though, if you open that door to the Hall of Fame where those subjective factors are taken into consideration, it creates controversy for letting certain people in and not others. It’s not like you could only use the subjective factors for Catchers.
Anyway, I hope that makes some type of sense. Thanks for the video and thanks for sharing!

Some not quite hall of famers to consider. I don't remember all of the ones you've covered so far, but Frank Howard, Will Clark, Orel Hershiser, John Olerud, Dave Stieb. Just to name a few.

This is a fun series, Chris. Elston Howard. Not quite half of fame, but an important player. George Foster, was so good. Probably under rated due to some of his team mates. Yet still close, but a not quite for me. I don't know much about, Frank White. I'll let this one marinate, though, looking at his stats...I would probably have voted, no.

Gave a video like. I would vote George Foster in. He is a HOFer to me, whether a small group of people decide to vote him in one day or not.

I really think Albert Belle and Kenny Lofton should get more HOF consideration. Both were dominant in the 90s in different ways.

Lofton has similar stats to hall of famer Tim Raines

I hope Foster doesn’t make the HOF, keeps prices lower :)

I'm confused. McRae couldn't play in the 1985 World Series because he was a DH. But the Royals moved Frank White into the DH spot?

@@cryptonite8495 I meant to say they moved white, a light hitting second baseman, to cleanup. Sorry for the confusion.

Elston Howard is Phil Rizzuto as a catcher. The only reason anybody looks at them as if they were great players is because they played for the Yankees during their dominant era. Elston Howard is no Hall of Famer. But thanks for sharing.
