More stranded tourists in Sikkim rescued | Landslides

On June 18, fifteen more stranded tourists were evacuated from Lachung and adjoining regions in Sikkim. Lachung, in Sikkim’s Mangan district, was hit by torrential rainfall and landslides last week. The district administration along with BRO, SDRF, NDRF and other volunteers are taking the stranded tourists to safer grounds. Sixty-four tourists were evacuated from Lachung on June 17 and moved to Mangan town.
