Why Recep Tayep Erdogan is band this drama series.
Because this series is seen as a kind of propaganda against the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire, portraying them as just spending all their time in the Harem. The real Sultan Suleiman spent most of his time on Campaigns, whereas in the show he was mostly seen with his Harem. He is also portrayed as more of a womaniser, something he wasn't in real life. However, Magnificent Century Kösem is more accurate, as the Sultans during this time were mostly useless, except for Sultan Murad IV. Still though, Erdogan views the Sultans as almost infallible, especially Abdul Hamid, and doesn't like any criticisms of them

I don't think the directors were intending to make her a big part of the story. She was probably just part of Osman's overall arc and to birth his first son.
