I can tell that we think alike. The reality of this business is that it's about profit/ how much you keep and not how manny accounts you have. Great video!
Blades of Grass Lawn Care, LLC Agreed. I hope we all think of $8,000 next time we're deciding between $40 and $45 for our estimates. =) Hate to see guys work so hard and leave so much money on the table.
Wow, I need to move to your town. A 'solo guy just startin' out' won't get anywhere near 50 clients. He'll be doing good to have 15, and that won't happin' in my town charging the fees you quote. You're lucky if you service all your clients, or even most of them, every week, for 8 months, so that fact alone messes up the numbers. There are months when the grass grows a lot faster than others. It gradually comes back in the late winter, early spring, then gradually goes dormant in the fall. Or maybe Florida is different than the rest of the country. Maybe the grass is on growth hormone the whole time.
Robert Swift Not true. We beat low ballers every day in our market. If a lawn business is not able to get $5 more than their competition, then that lawn business has done nothing to appear more valuable than their competition. I just want to encourage everyone that yes, you can actually charge premium prices, still beat the low baller, and have a better business.
Do you mean raise all your customers $5 per cut the following year? Or keep their prices the same as last year and start quoting $5 higher on new customers lawns?
Big problem with this estimate is that you only mowing once a week during the 2 prime spring months grass is growing other months you cutting every 10-15 days on average
Johnathan your channel is huge to me i can't believe that video is 3 years old

Great thought. If we all do great work then $5 is more than justified. Thanks for the awesome content
Mike Griffin May we all think of $8,000 when we are deciding between $40 and $45 for our estimates =). Thanks for commenting

Yeah this is definitely an exaggerated number for Arkansas. A solo guy is good to mow 15 starting, then work up into 30-50 over the next few years.
What is your hourly rate for mowing
Oscar Salas $80 per hour is our goal, but we avg $90 per hour
Florida Turf Pros What is the lowest hourly rate in your area?
problem is the new guys who do it for $5 cheaper so thats $16,000 less.
bingo,,,you cant beat someone who is willing to do it cheaper and almost every client wants to save money

You never win trying to under cut the cheapest guy. And he won't be around by the time the daily July rain and stupid heat mid August.🤷♀️
simple and effective.. and makes sense.. quality vid buddy.. just subbed.. ;)
can you show the flyers you use to get customers. and how you priced them. did you just mow or did you do other services?
Luis Cruz Hi, Luis. Yes, I will do a video on this question.
