Was hoping for a deeper dive into Etho. Man, his solo world is incredible. And seeing all of the MCC players (especially Tubbo) go into full on fan mode for him when he joined one was so endearing.
One of the original hermitcraft members who played throughout since joining in season 2, Tinfoil Chef, sadly passed away in 2022, due to cancer. May he mine is peace
@@andalilbitqueerI don't want to cause arguments because nobody wants that but his sister revealed that he had had a series of illnesses, he himself would update us on. And said he died of a stroke that was potentially because of symptoms of his prostate cancer at the time. So I believe you to both be correct in this situation. He may never have had the stroke if it wasn't for the cancer.
Still impressive that Etho made a playable Call of Duty map on the Mindcrack FTB server where you could play domination capturing flags & stuff in survival Minecraft. Etho was a chill guy for not immediately admitting that he was not “The E Pranker” to Bdubs. All of the devices in Etho’s nether hub probably got me into technical Minecraft & programming too…what a legend. Even Etho’s Terrafirmacraft & Project Ozone series are must watches even though they don’t impact Minecraft history as much.
@ While everyone else has moved on to building their mega bases, Bdubs will be lovingly hand placing every last tuft of grass in the giant forest he built to frame his starter house. That’s why only his builds feel like walking through a painting.
especially since grian has largely seemed to move on from building, at least for now. he’s still skilled but there’s waaay less emphasis on building in his vids, more just socializing and shenanigans
If you ever want to do a Technoblade-specific deep dive, hit me up! He's literally played on my Minecraft account and I don't think I've missed a video of his since 2013.
The hit speed stuff is incorrect by the way -- there was a limit for how many clicks could register in a second and it was much more tactical with getting enough clicks in to hit all the registers while timing your movement
I will also say that at the time he posted the "autoclicker" video, he had many videos uploaded where he just sat in a game lobby and asked for thumbnails, etc so it wasn't really surprising. He was really focused on the "low-effort" vibe with editing, no music, and just good gameplay and commentary.
Unpopular opinion but I don’t actually think Nestor, Cal, and Techno are gonna win tomorrow. I’ve challenged them with an immediate disadvantage of being a team of 3 in a team of 4 event on 1.12... that’s gonna be really hard no matter how good they might be
Grian's "life" smp would be interesting to cover: 3rd life, last life, double life, limited life, secret life, real life, wild life. With 7-9 episode seasons and amazing builders, redstoners, and pvpers competing to survive the longest on a hardcore server. With youtubers from several big smp’s including hermitcraft. It has alot of amazing pvp moments, especially traps and multi kills on other players. It’s become a tent pole event for the community every half a year as one episode from each creator releases every week (as the smp is only played on once a week for 3 hours) and the series typically runs a whole month. It’s one very influential series, in the hermitcraft and some other smp fandoms, especially for stories/lore/headcanons whatever you call them. Such as “Solidarity Gaming” being the first dead in every season for the first 5 seasons, dubbed the “canary curse”. And “Smallishbeans” and “Grian”’s deathtraps never working. Plus compared to hermitcraft and larger smps it’s definitely much easier to get into as following one creator pov though a season will usually last you around 4 hours? Each episode from Grain alone gets 1m views, with the first episode of third life from grain getting 6.4 million from 4 years ago. But of course this is all said with my bias, especially as my fav creator Smallishbeans just got his first win :d
On the Hermitcraft front, I feel a shoutout needs to be given to Vintagebeef for creating an entirely unique TCG in minecraft complete with using maps as cards and tournament arenas. Plus also feel you cant mention Hermitcraft without TangoTek's Decked Out and Decked Out 2.
ngl, he and scar already have. Grian, the guy known for being the build guy, constantly talk about how bdubs and scar are some of his biggest creative inspirations.
I feel like Bdubs has revolutionized so much over the years, he’s the reason for so many of these new concepts with building becoming so popular over the past 5+ years and he’s been around for over 13 years now too
I’d recommend the life series as it’s basically Hermitcraft without the building being that prevalent and it is insanely fun and chaotic. It’s mainly Hermitcraft members but also a couple extras who add so much fun.
I remember the day Techno passed. My friend heard the news first and let me down easy before showing me the video. I was devastated. And in my sadness, clicked the link to his Post-Mortem merch. I saw a giant "GG EZ" greet me and burst-out laughting through the tears. He got me, one last time. Ill say it because its true to me and many others, Technoblade never dies!!!
I remember I just had my last day of school ever. We prepared the halls for my graduation and then I came home, saw phoenixSCs' video on it and clicked through to the announcement. I cried for an hour and then had to get into my graduation outfit. He is the reason why i gradutated. I watched hours of his content while studying, listened to ALL the character playlists. He was the reason I graduated (and am now years into my uni) I didnt know him for too long but that was some of the best time and I still cry regularly with his clips
dude, you forgot to mention Grian's current ultra succesful series with some of the hermitcraft people. Limited life and all the variants are amazing. And maaaaaybe a small history of MCC would be great.
EthosLab and Sethbling were on the same level of redstone ability, Etho focused it far more in survival worlds while Sethbling focused it on creative/behing the scenes, things. Also, those two creators are usually the most mentioned by other MC creators as direct inspiration.
Writing the obligatory comment that while Etho was featured in this video, he is one of the most influential Minecraft Let’s Play RUclipsrs (maybe even the most influential). Additionally, there was a criminal lack of coverage for Tango’s Decked out (both one and two) and Beef’s TCG. These games weren’t only massively creative undertakings, but culturally significant for Hermitcraft. Building a game within a game to play with friends is the height of community in my opinion. There has always been a subculture of minigames within Minecraft, but these were the absolute peak on Hermitcraft. Other notable SMP’s are Grian’s Life Series which are the fun loving, RUclips content creator friendly “PVP” mini series that have some hilarious antics.
Would be so cool to do the whole technoblade hypixel skyblock saga, from him getting max speed to becoming mayor, and then the potato wars ofc, but otherwise great vid 😁
I would actually be so excited for a Mianite deep dive, especially going over how it ended, and how it continued and the whole game that was never made
The new Jaffa Factory Minecraft series on Duncan’s channel is great, they also did big chad guys which is an awesome modpack but it’s just Duncan and Harry, wasn’t as into just two people, having a third and it being Lewis helps keep things a bit more consistently engaging I think
man i hope i see an actual deepdive on hermitcraft next year. there's so much in it to talk about. hell even the past 2 "seasons" have a lot to talk about. Decked Out 2, TFC dying, the mailbox system, iSkall85, all the crazy shit Docm77 does, and more.
Definitely for a future vid i’d reccomend looking into: - The event community, MCC, Pandora’s box, Block Wars etc. - Watching Techno’s potato war in its entirety -MCSR (Minecraft Speedrunning) and the modern ranked speedrunning community (Feinberg, Couriway, Silverruns just to name a few!) -Lifesteal and modern SMP content that doesn’t fall under the same umbrella as the Dream SMP or Hermitcraft. (Creators like Rekrap, MinuteTech, PrinceZam, Pentar, Kaboodle, Clownpierce to name a few) -Modern storytelling/roleplay/scripted content like Unstable Universe (Wemmbu, Parrotx2, and SpokeIsHere) as well as Ivory Cellos’s masterful Whitepine -More female creators, for example an “old” gen would be LDShadowlady, or maybe a new gen like JumperWho -Modern Minecraft PVP community -Grian’s Life Series
I'd love to see them talk abt MCC, LDShadowlady, and Grian's Life series. While I've watched minecraft content for the past 8-10 years, my content sphere pretty much entirely confined to people who have been in MCC (empires smp ppl, lifers, dantdm n co, cube guys, harmony hollow, etc etc) and it's real disappointing that of them besides Dan, hermitcraft, and dsmp have been mentioned thus far bc each community on their own is kind of niche lmao
Stanz saying “for sale, baby shoes, never worn” to an unfinished Minecraft build, is so fucking funny 😂 Also, anytime Schlatt and/or Slimecicle are even remotely hinted at, I *crave* a dive on them 😩❤️
Schlatt in particular, I've never really watched him but he seems like so singular in the MC community for being like slightly edgier for lack of a better word? Not a negative, just how it seems to me.
@ I loved how much he despised the MC community, because they hated him so much, and he pulled that classic username ban on his Twitch, where anyone with a username that referenced any of the MC members, they got banned. Bro goes above and beyond with the trolling
Caanths, I LOVE your humor and what you bring to the channel and all the deep dives. Regardless of what BS your getting on twitter, there are some of us who appreciate ya man! Keep your head up dawg!
You know what? I think with all the of the content and info Caanths is taking in, his brain must be very dense - so densely packed with so much knowledge we can’t even comprehend.
Need to see SmallAnt’s breakdown of Feinburg’s insane All Advancement speedrun. SmallAnt’s “Reacting to the most INSANE minecraft speedrun” Feinburg’s “Dominating a $100,000 Minecraft Tournament” goes crazy too & shows the relationships between different segments of modern Minecraft RUclipsrs really well
Also Achievement Hunters Tower of Pimps episodes & Galacticraft episodes are Iconic. Similar to old modded Yogscast content in a way, the Yogscast Moonquest series & others.
UHC needs a separate deep dive, like I will make a study guide for caanths. This shit was like a tv show for people like me every few months. The communities it created like the Cube, Phobia UHC, Nuzlocke UHC, the reddit community, etc... This was like a precursor to the battle royale genre at large!
It's really crazy. I remember watching UHC from the start and seeing them go from just making the Hunger Games in Minecraft, then adding and modifying the ruleset over iterations. It was absolutely the origin of Battle Royale, because those gameplay changes were the things that made it into games like PUBG. For instance, if I remember correctly, they came up with the shrinking perimeter.
I’m really glad techno blade got featured in this video but I hope you guys do a real deep dive on him. Outside of him being a real king of Minecraft you overlooked a lot of his accomplishments which for someone of his stature who passed and neither of you know about, I think he deserves a real look
Thank you so much for discussing Hermitcraft, including Grian & Mumbo Jumbo. I’ve never played Minecraft, and think the Dream SMP people were meant for kids. Hermitcraft is like GMM, where the majority of their viewers are between their 20s-40s
hermitcraft's got a very large very young fanbase (though there's def some hermits whose viewers i'd bet are mostly like 20-40), i think it's just less obvious because the content isn't chaotic so the fanbase isn't chaotic either. and the hermits (especially grian, poor guy 😭) have all always been very good about discouraging immature behaviour from fans. i don't think the dream smp people really did that sorta thing back when that was all a ..Thing. anyways that gmm comparison is so spot on
For next year's minecraft dive, maybe think about Smallishbeans. He's not Technoblade or Dream levels of popularity, but is a huge part of my childhood! He was also invited to hermitcraft season 10, and has been making waves since then.
It’s cool that there’s just 2 distinct eras of smallishbeans fans. I’ve never watched one of his Minecraft videos in my life, but I used to love his call of duty montages that he used to do before Minecraft was a thing. He was a legend in that early cod community.
One more Philza fact; he currently has a hardcore world that is 5+ years old (older than the original world)! And in that world he built a beautiful tribute to Techno when he passed
Paul had the first ever let’s play Minecraft series! I was friends with one of his kids back in the day and still super close friends with one of the families he used to play with.
They’re not doing an anarchy server deep dive. Caanths didn’t want to discuss SMP Live because of some of the members in it. The amount of blurring he’d have to do for the speech in 2B2T, it’d never going to happen lol
I can't really blame caanths for missing so much. 16 years and 300m copies sold (1/3 more than the 2nd highest, GTA), and there's *A TON* of history to unpack. More than you could put in even 2 videos, to satisfy every person who grew up with the game, at least without each being more than 8 hours long
I mean we can when he specifically decides to just say he won't talk about Carson and how they basically rose Minecraft back up on RUclips. Weird as fuck
I feel like in todays youtube, it's hard to mention Grian without the life series he runs. The views have always been amazing and the content itself is, personally, some of the best Minecraft content to exist.
It’s understandable if you don’t cover it, but I would LOVE to see a deeper dive on ilmango or even the scicraft server. People like ilmango, gnembon, and the rest of the scicraft server are GOATS of technical Minecraft. They really push Minecraft’s mechanics to its limits and it is super impressive and fascinating
Team Crafted was short lived, but very important to Minecraft AND RUclips history. They were one of the first content houses and involved plenty of notable names like SkyDoesMinecraft, JeromeASF, Ssundee, BajanCanadian, and most surprisingly, Post Malone. Yeah Post Malone's career started with Team Crafted. This content house specifically is what eventually led to the beginning of content companies like The Little Club, including people like the brothers who started it, Little Lizard and Tiny Turtle, then other friends of theirs, starting with Little Kelly, then Little Carly, Baby Max, Donut the Dog, Scuba Steve and Sharky, and eventually branched even further out into The Minevengers which included people roleplaying as Iron Man and Cap, and then a completely new superhero, Little Ropo, and plenty of others. All of them worked together to make half-improvized scripted roleplay content, which is where you then get things like the DreamSMP where you have scripted storylines but the connecting pieces of those storylines can be improved. It stemmed from The Little Club, and the team that started it all plus Post Malone, Team Crafted, doesn't even get a mention
And also all the other hunger games and cops n robbers youtubers that played with team crafted like the pack aka vikstar and also preston/lachlan/bajan canadian who was in both.
A "history" that just glosses past the most crucial youtuber who served as inspiration to a lot of RUclipsrs, Etho, is like writing the history of the World and glossing past the invention of the wheel or fire.
43:55 one of my favorite UHC moments is when the duo JeromeASF and BajanCanadian were in a rush to make an appointment and so couldn't finish the game and wanted to kill someone before killing was enabled. They did it by rushing to get a bucket of lava, find people, then burn them and their teammates. It is such a funny video.
I’m not sure how unlikely this is! I feel like some of the deep dives they’ve done have been so out of left field, I wouldn’t be surprised if they whip out literally any of my fav RUclipsrs from my youth. I’m crossing my fingers for a VanossGaming deep dive too!
@@thespicywombat8547I hope so, cause Vanoss is such a great an interesting youtuber for me. Like, he was one of the early gaming youtubers that actually did really sick edits even in his early days, and his more business like mindset on youtube was also really interesting. Ntm to mention the hockey and music.
The only thing I know about that guy is when he made that “i don’t matter what your name is” song for Whiteboy7thst. Didn’t realize he was a big RUclipsr that could be deep dived.
@FizzyCape Oh damn you're an old school guy! He has 25 mil subs as of rn, and he's had a few notable phases like when he did music as Rynx, the animated series thing he did, not to mention his extended cast of youtubers. Maybe not a full divemas deep dives, but he could probably do good in a 30 min deep dive.
@ wow I just checked his channel, I didn’t realize the video I was talking about is literally his first video. Makes sense why I didn’t know about him, I probably checked his channel back when I first saw it and just figured he was a fan making a one off video
one thing I really appreciate is how much respect stanz has for these people. minecraft CCs are often looked down upon or joked about so its nice to see some recognition
Caanths did a really good job with this dive! If you want to do a dive on the potato war as insinuated it would be cool to try and get Squid Kid to take part in it because no one can tell the story better than him.
No he didn't lmao. This was all surface level, no big name RUclipsrs we actually care about. Plus outright refusing to talk about Carson is weird as hell
Thank you for covering Hermitcraft! It’s the safest place for everyone and being family friendly doesn’t mean anything less. That aside, who wanna bet we will hear about parkour civilisation in the next one lol 😂
Would love a full Etho deep dive, he is arguably the most influential mincraft LPer ever in terms of how many other creators he inspired. He is your favorite MC creator's favorite MC creator
Absolutely loved this dive, didn’t manage to catch the stream, but this was a super fun one. Minecraft is such a huge and long lasting influential game, there is way too much to cover, even within just the smaller sub communities you may only touch the top of the iceberg. However I loved taking a look back at some more of the creators I grew up with like Mindcrack, Sethbling etc, and even those that I continue to watch to this day like Hermitcraft. The guys have been smashing it out the park this year, and can’t wait to see what else they cover next time in the 2025 Minecraft Divemas Dive!
I'm so glad y'all dedicated parts in the video for Technoblade and Philza !! Ive been watching them for almost 6 years and they really deserve all the recognition. TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES 🗡️🐷
Last note, Paul (PSJ) was the first ever tutorial. There were hardly any ways to craft things other than by looking it up or knowing how to already so RUclips helped that a LOT
Im kinda sad that talking so much about SMPs and stuff, but the only one i remember that i used to watch wasn't mentioned, maybe it wasnt big enough, but i remember watching HowToMinecraft. That SMP was quite fun
Love that stanz mentions at 28:07 that the 5 year hardcore world was 5 years ago, as philza just celebrated having a 5 year old hardcore world again! Should check out what he's built in this one!
This video feels like when a friend hyper fixates on a topic and does crazy research on it only to make a friend listen to all the cool details they found. I love it.
Now time for the latest Minecraft Eras, the Twist SMP era (Lifesteal SMP, Life Series, Infuse SMP, Civilization RUclipsrs) + Scripted Minecraft Era (Unstable Universe and Whitepine)
Man I want a deepdive of TangoTek but esp his "minigames" like please. Decked out 1 and 2, hungry hermits, like bro made (basically) vanilla minecraft into a different game entirely....
Please talk about Smallishbeans in next year’s Minecraft deep dive. I used to watch him when I was little and i recently started watching him again, it’s crazy how entertaining he still is and how good at the game he is. Him and LDshadowlady are such important Minecraft people to me and I would love to see what you think (also I recommend watching the life series)
Great video, I think of all the people on here Etho deserves his own full dive. A lot of big Minecraft RUclipsrs cite him as their inspiration and he’s been providing consistent quality content for so long now.
6:09 it's moreso that dream started gaining popularity later, playing with post-1.9 combat, while techno, for a long time, played with 1.8 combat. 1.9 combat has shields and axes and has more moving parts, 1.8 combat is focused on rod combos and fast clicking. Not sure about now, but 1.8 was considered more technical, while 1.9 was more strategic. The duel had both 1.8 and 1.9 combat, which made it more even, and they both practiced a lot beforehand. Dream was very good at pvp, and to be honest, it's a bit misleading to say that they were on "different levels". They were both good enough at both versions of combat that this was more or less an equal battle, although techno won with mastermind strategy such as stripping the logs on the ground using his axe.
11:09 mini walls is a smaller minigame version of hypixel's expanded version of walls, called mega walls. Walls is a classic minecraft gamemode (this was probably what stanz played maybe) that was created probably over 15 years ago. It does involve gearing up and fighting after a certain amount of time. It used no mods or commands and if I remember correctly, they used sand to create the walls and had them fall away based on a redstone clock. Not exactly sure about this. Walls was mainly played with friends on local servers, which meant that teams could be as large or small as you wanted. Technoblade mainly played on hypixel, which was and is the biggest server to still run the 1.8 version of the game. hypixel created a game called "mega walls", which was a much larger game mode and more complicated. Essentially, the gamemode allowed for 100 players, in 4 teams of 25. Rather than just fighting, each team has a wither, which has a certain amount of health. Before the walls drop, you gather gear, blocks, and other resources. As long as the wither is alive, you can respawn and keep fighting. Players also choose kits, similar to a league champion, that have specific abilities, passives, and armor. Each player gets an enderchest to store items in to use after respawning. After the wither dies, you can permanently die, and when every wither dies, deathmatch occurs, which makes everyone get hunger if they aren't at mid. This doesn't really do anything and if you have enough food you can live forever outside of mid. Kits are the fundamental mechanic of the game, and need to be upgraded to be the most effective. Unfortunately, the game is not as active as it once was, so the gap between beginners and upgraded players is quite large. However, skill is still necessary no matter what upgrades and kits you choose. Kits not only determine the abilities and passives, but also weapons and armor, healing, playstyle, etc. Tanks, damage, mobility, range, utility all depends on the kits. Also, it employs 1.8 combat mechanics, making it quite fast paced. The gamemode got an update in June, adding new kits(broken of course) and some buffs and nerfs, as well as some mechanic changes. Megawalls was developed a long time ago. However, mini walls was created as a parody of mega walls. There is no real resource gathering phase, and players are split into 4 teams of 4. Withers are much much weaker and blocks drop as wool, which can be broken by arrows. Players get arrows that slowly recharge over time. The game mode is much faster, and the deathmatch results in the edges of the map falling away, similar to many popular shooters like fortnite. Hypixel also added a game called crazy walls, which I believe is retired now. Anyways
Thank you, wether people hate him or like him I feel like its a shame to diminish his skill and what he was in the community just cause creators don't like him, the drama doesn't take away everything for me, big part of the community no matter how much people want to lock him in a box yk
I feel like EthosLab needs his tangent at the minimum. He might not be the flashiest creator, but the best description for him I've ever heard is "He's your favorite Minecrafter's favorite Minecrafter." The man has gotten no negative attention or controversy and is still completely anonymous cause he wants to enjoy his peaceful life outside of youtube
Him and Mindcrack in general. Mindcrack season 3 and 4 were my peak Minecraft RUclips watching days. I still remember the prank on Guude's house with Etho, Beef, and Zisteau; or Beef's lillypad base on the water. Also the trial was fun, and the free Millbee movement with Orange Wool.
For year 3 of this, RTGames would be great, he and his community recreated the entirety of earth and human civilization in minecraft continent by continent (though.... maybe not exactly), but along with the funny stuff; his community did also create a bunch of real-world historical monuments and included historical trivia for the locations Also, most of it is documented on his RUclips channel
I'd love a deeper dive into techno, but honestly, even just literally reacting to potato wars alone would be sick. Imo it's the series that truly captures the best of techno's deadpan humour mixed in with his obsessive nature to be the best at something.
I would love to see a Yogscast deep dive. Minecraft content or not their backlog is legendary and the network they have built is huge. They also run a charity event in december every year, the Jingle Jam, that has raise millions for various charities over the years. I never see them talked about so I was very happy to see them mentioned in your last minecraft deep dive.
it’s not as glamorous as the more modern parts of technoblade’s career, but he was one of the main people still uploading during the dark times for minecraft as servers closed and most creators left for fortnite. his skywars videos where he just rambled about his life were so personal and relatable, and it was the reason it felt so triumphant when he blew up during minecraft monday and finally received recognition (and his pig rank) after all his contributions on the way to hypixel’s rise after mineplex’s fall
For a potential “The History of Minecraft RUclips Part 3,” I recommend having an huge part (Like how Hermitcraft has here), to the absolute colossal that was the Dream SMP. Even though like 1/4th of the members are terrible people, the effect that one server had on Minecraft RUclips (and stan culture) cannot be understated. It led to so many creators like Tommyinnit, Quackity, or Ranboo to go on and do great things. Other trends like Civilization videos, 100 Day videos and LuketheNotable’s attempt to claim the trend, and Minecraft events like Minecraft Monday / MCC are huge parts to MC RUclips. Besides the Dream SMP, other smps like Grian’s Life SMP, Empires, Lifesteal, or SMP Earth deserve a mention. Recently, QSMP was a HUGE project created by Quackity which broke cultural barriers on Twitch / YT like nothing seen before. Theres also an entire community for the Bedrock Edition, which wasnt even hinted at here. Creators like ibxToycat or SilentWhisperer are huge youtubers for the most sold Minecraft version ever.
Although, I could see things like SMP Live and the Dream SMP having its own “Minecraft History” video. Especially as they are so influential, but are unlike the others as they are infamous for their server members, and wouldn’t really fit with the others.
the craziest thing about minecraft is how if you were in one niche, you couldve stayed in that one niche forever without consuming any other type of content. when i was a kid and watching minecraft videos, i was super into the cube smp/uhcs, stacyplays, etc, and only found out about hermitcraft when the pandemic started .... insane
I can't believe how many people you forgot in this video.
I can't believe the number of people they get to cover next time

HC needs more context! So much drama and how perfect they handle a bad creator.
Yes he forgot bdubs played on mine crack 😢

Having Stanz watch the potato wars would be funny as hell. That’s what made me love Techno, originally. The sheer dedication was inspiring
I've watched tons of reactions to the series and I'd be happy to watch another. Shout out the charity too and stanz can say he's helping lol

Etho is "your favorite mc creator's favorite mc creator"
I'm pretty sure Northern Lion's main background is still a screenshot from Etho's iconic first single player world.
I cant believe that they didn't add a hour to the video to react to the potato war series

Mumbo and Grain are awesome, but Etho and BdoubleO are THE redstone guy and THE building guy in my heart.
RIGHT?! I only found bdubs through the Life Series (Im an LDShadowlady/Smajor1995 viewer for the most part) but that guy is THEE builder.

Two words: Etho Clock.

I second this
On the Hermitcraft front, I feel a shoutout needs to be given to Vintagebeef for creating an entirely unique TCG in minecraft complete with using maps as cards and tournament arenas. Plus also feel you cant mention Hermitcraft without TangoTek's Decked Out and Decked Out 2.
I wish they would have shown some of the bdoubleO builds in hermitcraft. I really think he's about to revolutionize Minecraft building
He and Scar, but I’m still happy they hit my two favorite in Mumbo & Grian
100%
ngl, he and scar already have. Grian, the guy known for being the build guy, constantly talk about how bdubs and scar are some of his biggest creative inspirations.
He already has tbh. He sees the game different. His videos are art on every level.
Agreed!
46:14 fun fact, Etho did use speakers atp so he 100% did not hear it from the side
There's no doubt Techno was HIM.
Techno was special
Same, it was a few days before my birthday, i was on my way to get tacos. I remember watching the video on the way there, crying while eating tacos.
I remember it was raining and I was sitting on a set of stairs with friends watching the video
Imagine being blown away by the exterior of Tango's "Decked Out 2", and nobody mentions there's a years worth of redstone and game design inside.
Technoblade deep dive NEEDED
Damn I still remember the one time Technoblade did a collab with Ludwig.
Would be so cool to do the whole technoblade hypixel skyblock saga, from him getting max speed to becoming mayor, and then the potato wars ofc, but otherwise great vid 😁
I would actually be so excited for a Mianite deep dive, especially going over how it ended, and how it continued and the whole game that was never made
The Yogscast definitely deserve their own dive. Their new stuff is pretty good for anyone wondering btw Blood on the clocktower is dope af
Honestly, you could do a dive solely on the history of Jingle Jam alone, let alone the countless other things Yogscast have done over the years
The new Jaffa Factory Minecraft series on Duncan’s channel is great, they also did big chad guys which is an awesome modpack but it’s just Duncan and Harry, wasn’t as into just two people, having a third and it being Lewis helps keep things a bit more consistently engaging I think
For real
Yeah I couldn't get into big chad guys unfortunately :( Vault hunters was fun for a while though!@@dirtydirtyshisno7284
@@tonaerio Yeh, they still raise £2+ mil every year for charity despite no longer being at their peak audience.
The transition from Techno to Phillza was incredible and I didn’t even notice until the turn to the hermits
Etho needs his own dive
man i hope i see an actual deepdive on hermitcraft next year. there's so much in it to talk about. hell even the past 2 "seasons" have a lot to talk about. Decked Out 2, TFC dying, the mailbox system, iSkall85, all the crazy shit Docm77 does, and more.
Definitely for a future vid i’d reccomend looking into:
- The event community, MCC, Pandora’s box, Block Wars etc.
- Watching Techno’s potato war in its entirety
-MCSR (Minecraft Speedrunning) and the modern ranked speedrunning community (Feinberg, Couriway, Silverruns just to name a few!)
-Lifesteal and modern SMP content that doesn’t fall under the same umbrella as the Dream SMP or Hermitcraft. (Creators like Rekrap, MinuteTech, PrinceZam, Pentar, Kaboodle, Clownpierce to name a few)
-Modern storytelling/roleplay/scripted content like Unstable Universe (Wemmbu, Parrotx2, and SpokeIsHere) as well as Ivory Cellos’s masterful Whitepine
-More female creators, for example an “old” gen would be LDShadowlady, or maybe a new gen like JumperWho
-Modern Minecraft PVP community
-Grian’s Life Series
That's a great recommendation cause I wish they would also talk about this stuff
this
I'd love to see them talk abt MCC, LDShadowlady, and Grian's Life series.
Huahwi Deep Dive or riot
Stanz saying “for sale, baby shoes, never worn” to an unfinished Minecraft build, is so fucking funny 😂
Also, anytime Schlatt and/or Slimecicle are even remotely hinted at, I *crave* a dive on them 😩❤️
Schlatt in particular, I've never really watched him but he seems like so singular in the MC community for being like slightly edgier for lack of a better word? Not a negative, just how it seems to me.
@ I loved how much he despised the MC community, because they hated him so much, and he pulled that classic username ban on his Twitch, where anyone with a username that referenced any of the MC members, they got banned. Bro goes above and beyond with the trolling
Caanths, I LOVE your humor and what you bring to the channel and all the deep dives. Regardless of what BS your getting on twitter, there are some of us who appreciate ya man! Keep your head up dawg!
What's going on with Caanths and twitter?
Caanths seems a bit dense. The more these videos come out the more I realized Stans is working with the wrong person to make these...
It's always really funny seeing the replies to this that doesn't get it ahahaha
so trueee
You know what? I think with all the of the content and info Caanths is taking in, his brain must be very dense - so densely packed with so much knowledge we can’t even comprehend.
Thanks Betty, was looking for this comment lol
A mention of KurtjMac and his Far Lands or Bust series is a must for next time.
Need to see SmallAnt’s breakdown of Feinburg’s insane All Advancement speedrun. SmallAnt’s “Reacting to the most INSANE minecraft speedrun”
Feinburg’s “Dominating a $100,000 Minecraft Tournament” goes crazy too & shows the relationships between different segments of modern Minecraft RUclipsrs really well
Also Achievement Hunters Tower of Pimps episodes & Galacticraft episodes are Iconic.
Not to mention the montages and intro videos people like ShutUpBrick made
Or the micro celebrities that would rise in the community
Hermitcraft is like GMM, where the majority of their viewers are between their 20s-40s
hermitcraft's got a very large very young fanbase (though there's def some hermits whose viewers i'd bet are mostly like 20-40), i think it's just less obvious because the content isn't chaotic so the fanbase isn't chaotic either. and the hermits (especially grian, poor guy 😭) have all always been very good about discouraging immature behaviour from fans. i don't think the dream smp people really did that sorta thing back when that was all a ..Thing. anyways that gmm comparison is so spot on
idk how you guys didnt cover my Minecraft Lets Play i recorded on my iphone 4 when i was 10
For next year's minecraft dive, maybe think about Smallishbeans. He's not Technoblade or Dream levels of popularity, but is a huge part of my childhood! He was also invited to hermitcraft season 10, and has been making waves since then.
youre so real for this
It’s cool that there’s just 2 distinct eras of smallishbeans fans.
"for sale baby shoes never worn" referencing philza this made me laugh out loud ty stanz
Paul had the first ever let’s play Minecraft series! I was friends with one of his kids back in the day and still super close friends with one of the families he used to play with.
Ayyy my comment about the Yogscast made it on the video! 😁
Edit: btw it’s best to do Yogscast during December for the Jingle Jam Fundraiser
Let’s goooo!
I hope they talk about ldshadowlady if they do a part 3 she was the first youtuber i watched and is the biggest female Minecraft youtuber !
and also Minecraft rp which was making stories using Minecraft was a big thing
yesss!!
I used to watch her call of duty videos back in the day
2b2t deepdive when
They’re not doing an anarchy server deep dive. Caanths didn’t want to discuss SMP Live because of some of the members in it. The amount of blurring he’d have to do for the speech in 2B2T, it’d never going to happen lol
Mianite has a special place in my heart and stanz has to know every bit of lore and POV. The live moments the edited moments. Captain sparkles
1:09:37 THIS is why hermitcraft is so important imo. It kept things afloat I feel
The Syndicate Project inspired a generation too.
He also scammed kids by running a rigged gambling website, and faked his zombies world record
MIANITE
Syndicate, uberhaxornova, etho, callmecarson, captainsparkles. Bro literally didn't do any research on this and it makes Stanz look bad
Can't wait for minecraftimplosion next year 🎉
you have no idea how happy i am seeing old UHC clips in the modern era
not showing bdoubleo100 and goodtimes with scar builds is a crime
43:55 one of my favorite UHC moments is when the duo JeromeASF and BajanCanadian were in a rush to make an appointment and so couldn't finish the game and wanted to kill someone before killing was enabled. They did it by rushing to get a bucket of lava, find people, then burn them and their teammates. It is such a funny video.
Fun fact, Philza now has a second 5-year (5 1/2 years now) hardcore world and is still alive!
A Vanossgaming deep dive would be very unlikely but so awesome for me
I’m not sure how unlikely this is!
Can’t wait for fruitberries and The Pack in the next video
Thank you for covering Hermitcraft! It’s the safest place for everyone and being family friendly doesn’t mean anything less.
That aside, who wanna bet we will hear about parkour civilisation in the next one lol 😂
36:50 “for sale baby shoes never worn” came out like it’s a natural saying for him 😂😂
God, i teared up when you cut to technoblades dad in the chair
I would love a hermitcraft deepdive or just more about the building side of minecraft
I hope they cover actual mc speedruning if they do this again
I'm glad Yogscast is getting its own dive. They're still so good! Especially Duncan's new jaffa factory series, so much fun!
Don’t say this you might drag me back into the family. I stopped watching 3-4 years ago
@SerjEpic I think Simon will be joining them in the next few weeks. Quite possibly sips too.
I love it.
The Life series defo deserves to have its own video!!!
Vannos gaming and crew deepdive pleaaaseeee absolute youtube royalty
Need to see “The E Pranker” from Zisteau as it was the peak of the Mindcrack Prank Wars.
My favorite prank of his is still the prank on Guude's house in season 3 along with Beef and Etho.
For year 3 of this, RTGames would be great, he and his community recreated the entirety of earth and human civilization in minecraft continent by continent (though.... maybe not exactly), but along with the funny stuff; his community did also create a bunch of real-world historical monuments and included historical trivia for the locations
Also, most of it is documented on his RUclips channel
etho could honestly have his own deep dive. he's your favorite minecraft youtubers favorite minecraft youtuber
I would love to see a potato war deep dive
1:05:08 "they are like bats that fly"
I'd love a deeper dive into techno, but honestly, even just literally reacting to potato wars alone would be sick. Imo it's the series that truly captures the best of techno's deadpan humour mixed in with his obsessive nature to be the best at something.
This is making me even more hyped for the Yogscast deep dive
I can't wait for them to cover the Life Series next year! :D
Need a deep dive into the Life series
And also bringing up mc speedruns but not talking about Feinberg feels like a crime lol
Especially as they are so influential, but are unlike the others as they are infamous for their server members, and wouldn’t really fit with the others.
all of this I agree with these are so relevant to the modern mcyt community
avoiding carson like that is so odd dawg 😭
You gotta do a full technoblade dive man it’s truly an inspiring and hilarious story
My favorite clip on the entire internet is TapeL screaming in fear when he sees Technoblade coming in Minecraft Ultimate tournament.
the craziest thing about minecraft is how if you were in one niche, you couldve stayed in that one niche forever without consuming any other type of content. when i was a kid and watching minecraft videos, i was super into the cube smp/uhcs, stacyplays, etc, and only found out about hermitcraft when the pandemic started .... insane
