May I ask you what you think, is it worth buying it? It is already over three years old? What do You think about yours? Thank you so much.
the geometry and the rear suspension kinematics of this bike just suck big time! the front axle to center length is way to short and you will get over the bars if you are used to a bike with normal geo. the rear suspension with the stock öhlins shock is just a bad joke. you have to get a bike yoke that you can fit default shocks in and add an air damper full with volume spacers, or a coil shock with one of the available progressive springs from mrp. with the stock damper and a normal spring the rear suspension is either bottoming out all the time if you choose the right spring rate, or it is super hard to ride over roots and rocks if you choose a harder spring rate. I have a rock shox vivid for 325bucks in the bike and sold the almost new öhlins shock for like 650bucks and the rock shox damper is performing way better. I did just twoo weeks ago start to use this bike again, so the hate onto the geometry is real. if you are used to a bike with a gravity oriented front to center length it's impossible to go fast on steeper terrain in the beginning. I like the motor, I think if you just replace the belt every 2000km you have the nicest motor out there, still. super quiet and stronger than the new bosch motor.

I would have thought vaseline applied to the inner teeth of the belt would have reduced the grip between the belt and the metal drive wheel. Good video though.
The belt is made of really strange stiff stuff, guess some kind of carbon fiber, maybe it's to reduce the wearing. I followed the original "Brose authorised dealer" instruction manual at that point.
So the reason that it calls for petroleum jelly is pretty cool actually. The belts now on those drives are carbon fiber. There’s no rubber in them. That’s why there’s no risk of the petroleum jelly reacting with the rubber. There is none. Also, petroleum jelly has a low melting point. So if that belt does actually experience any friction and heat up it will kind of melt the petroleum jelly a little bit. Makes it a little more fluid and sort of re-lubricates the belt in any dry areas. It’s kind of an interesting little ecosystem.
if you use dot5 brake fluid on regular rubber it will kill it and still there are rubber seals in dot5 brakes that are not having any problems with it. I think it's the same with vaseline. since the instruction comes directly from brose I highly doubt that it will damage the belt. also the belt is far from being just regular rubber. its super stiff material, some kind of carbon fiber i think
@@Dietahvr hmm, wel fair enough. If brose advises it, it will probably not harm it enough in the long term. Odd that they wouldn't recommend silicone grease. And true about the dot5 brake fluid, i suspect they might use a special type of rubber for those seals altho I'm not sure about that.
You might wanna tell that Brose, since they are the ones putting it into their instructions for authorized dealers. the belts material is extreme far off from regular belts, so maybe that's why they instruct you to use that vaseline stuff. it's some sort of fibre stuff that is extremly stiff. I had a gates belt here as well with the same dimensions, and that one felt way softer from the material.

with the stock damper and a normal spring the rear suspension is either bottoming out all the time if you choose the right spring rate, or it is super hard to ride over roots and rocks if you choose a harder spring rate.
@@Dietahvr Thank you very much for your feedback, I will test it before buying it, because the price is still 3500 €. I'm glad I found your channel, I'll be back.
@@mogeoofficiel that's what I paid for my Turbo levo fsr NB 29 2019 ..in the store 42000 nok (norske kroner) i actually ordered a kenevo but they ordered it wrong so they gave me six thousand of the price,,to not have to send it back..42000 Norwegian is like 3500 English pounds

@@mogeoofficiel probably good because it would break anyways I broken my motor twice battery once and even broken the inner axle in the rear wheel.... but f... it's a fun bike when it works but those hour's of fun is a bit too expensive check out the brand called BESV it's a brand from the Netherlands with Taiwanese partnership for the batteries and electronics they are levo lookalikes but use Bosch motors and power tubes,, which makes it possible to put on range extender so you get 1000wh battery and The Price is exactly 3500 pounds for the cheapest full suspension 140 rear rockshox and 150 travel in the fork i dont remember the brand of fork and it's 27,5 wheel's with 2,6 maxxis Tyres and kind shock dropper post.. you can't get a better deal right now that I know about
Do You need to re-programme software after this belt exchange?
no
@@Dietahvr ok, thanks!
Is this belt in this video suitable for fantic fat sport 2017 model with brose drive s motor?
@@JK-tv3oi I have no Idea, sorry man.
It looks like the same, though haven't opened shields yet. I have planned to buy new belt advance so that is why I have made these questions. Thanx anyway Dieter!
the rubber coated metal washer goes inside the engine not resting outside
I don't think it's sealing properly when it sits under the case plate.
It was mounted the way I put it on when I first dissassambled it.
@@Dietahvr Very strange, I just made the replacement of the belt in my turbo levo 2018 and the rubber washer was inside the engine ..
@@andreabrunetti2725 After disassembly of housing shell it stays fixed on the crankshaft and seems to be „inside“.
but it has two sealing lips on the outer diameter. One should be flapped inside and one outside of the housing. Assembly is done best from outside because outside sealing lip has bigger diameter.
and inner lip is slipping easier to inside.
How many teeth does the belt have? Is it a GT3?
I have no idea, sorry.
Are you a couple with a shared account? Some other VR videos on this channel, uh, piqued my curiosity, and this wasn't what I was expecting to be the channel's most popular video lol, cool stuff tho
yes, we are a couple with a shared account. was originally my husbands account where he did post some of his bike stuff, now it's mostly my vr stuff and every now and then some bike videos.
@@Dietahvr OK I figured, you both have cool hobbies :)
The routing of the rear derailleur cable is so crappy!! I struggled like you to adjust mine!
glad to hear that I am not the only one that almost freaked out with that cable^^
It's the second time this happened to me,,i got a 2019mod Turbo levo fsr 29 .. seems to me like a year of bicycling in Norway it's maximum of what a brose motor\belt can take.. I'm a bicycle delivery guy i Will lose a lot of money now,, I'm really pissed off
Thank you so much for this. I Pulled my motor out today Kenevo 2019, didn't need the Crank puller mine had self removing cranks. Off for a rebuild and upgraded bearing and seal kit. AUS.
Dieter thanks for the reply. Maybe the vaseline stops the belt cracking or makes it a little supple. Enjoyed the video. Cheers
A high quality silicone grease would have been better
So the reason that it calls for petroleum jelly is pretty cool actually. The belts now on those drives are carbon fiber. There’s no rubber in them. That’s why there’s no risk of the petroleum jelly reacting with the rubber. There is none. Also, petroleum jelly has a low melting point. So if that belt does actually experience any friction and heat up it will kind of melt the petroleum jelly a little bit. Makes it a little more fluid and sort of re-lubricates the belt in any dry areas. It’s kind of an interesting little ecosystem.
Vaya cancion Antigua
you should never use petroleum based products on rubber, it will make it expand and it could make it fail prematurely. only use silicon based greases
if you use dot5 brake fluid on regular rubber it will kill it and still there are rubber seals in dot5 brakes that are not having any problems with it.
Vaseline is definitely the wrong thing for this job and you should NEVER contaminate belts with anything, especially not oils

Danke
Finds geil das es soviele views bekommt, ich hatt den Motor schon wieder zusammengebaut gehabt als jemand ausm Pedelecforum gefragt hat ob ich da nicht nen Video von machen kann.

Vaseline on belt ...wtf
That's what Brose says^^ But there is absolutely no need for the belt to be gripy. It sits so tight there is no way the teeth gonna jump over.
