My dad did this, and I could just feel the shock in my head from watching. One day I prepared myself and gently bit down on the end of the rope while our staffordshire did her tug and shake, even though the rope flew out of my mouth I felt enough of the jolt to get an idea how bad that would be.
I guess they are puppies so it seems harmless but you should not let two dogs, especially adult dogs, play like this, "fighting" for a toy. They can start a real fight and never want to see each other again. Even if they are best buddies now.

Sean Thomas the gs bite force is overrated the dogs that get that force are always police trained dogs that bite with their back teeth making a stronger bite. And the gs isn’t game like staff and will back down before the staff. Still the gs has a stronger bite but it’s over exaggerated.
That staff is using all its strength, eventually he would gas out and the German would win the tugging. Had it been an alpha thing, German wins that as well.
I love both these dogs... But staffs are my favourite I love their soft gentle nature blended with their raw strength and power... What a breed!!!
