    Wow! that was fantastic to watch. Great PR for the Staffordshire Bull Terrier too. Nice to see Paul O'Grady even if he did look thoroughly confused bless him. These are "proper" Staffords, doing what comes naturally to them, running, jumping, playing & always so affectionate.

    My dog (just over 2 years old) is a cross breed and she is so amazing. At the park I taught her to do some tricks on a jungle gym and now all I need to say is "trick" and she does it. She is super at jumping up on walls, running along them and jumping down. She can now jump through tyres too. She's super easy to train and a wonderful girl. I think its a shame there is no where we can show off wonderful cross breed dogs as I'm sure she'd be somewhere in the top cross breed dogs.

      Any breed discriminatory laws such as that one are not based on education and science, but the delusional notion that we are keeping people and other dogs safe and are ineffective and just plain stupid, one of the most stupid laws I’ve ever heard of.

      i like pitbulls but saying not to punish the breed but that thinking kind of defies the logic of breeding. I mean it's naive to ignore the fact that pitbulls were bread for maximum agression.

    • @TLEE1977
      @TLEE1977 4 года назад +4

      @@tevitaphillips3196 why are you here? The Pitbull is spawned from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and that "maximum aggression" you coined was only towards animals. Don't spread that nonsense because you're just as bad as the BSL supporters. My pack is a pitbull, staffy, and a cat.

    I like how this sport shows that there is more to the staffordshire than just dog fighting and stuff like that. It's a good and powerful breed just like when one staffy fell and he got up. They don't go crying on the floor. I wish the people who breed and buy these dogs would only think twice of what kind of dog their getting and would search for some info. As well behaved as you see the dogs in the agility show, it doesn't come natural. This comes with good ownership.

  • @misswhyaname

    It will eventually chill him out as the testosteron level goes lower. It will also recuce the risk of cancer to the prostate, testikels etc.. He will be fine when he is castrated. Good thing of getting a rescue instead of a new puppy. There are a lot of good staffys waiting for an owner.

  • @TheMissChloe98
    @TheMissChloe98 11 лет назад

    You can watch it live on this channel starting from Thursday I think:) And answering your second questions, no staffies are not 'evil'. The way they are brought up and trained is what decides how the dog will act when it is older. If you meet a so called 'evil' staffy it is most likely because the owner is an idiot (but that happens with all breeds. However there are circumstances where a dog can get scared and then react to the situation, but thats different. Staffs are wonderful:)

  • @BoneCrusherB92
    @BoneCrusherB92 11 лет назад +1

    The press have given staffs such a bad image but even more so.the owners who use these eager to please dogs,to attack others and humans alike.i have a staff and i know that i can trust him around babies and other animals.judge the owners not the dog.

  • @animalobsessed1
    @animalobsessed1 12 лет назад +1

    The temperament depends mostly on the owner, and if you already have another terrier, and know how to handle it, there shouldn´t be a problem. If you´re careful of where you get the dog, (because there are some aggressive breeding lines,) it would make a great pet.

    They were already neutered by Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary to stop the local problem of too many unwanted Staffs in the local area. There was no need to bring my innocent children into this to try and win ur argument. It just shows a lack of education on your part and a bit of decency on mine when i would re-home 2 Staffs that irresponsible like you produce !!!!!

    I did get him castrated, a month ago now, when the time came to take him I nearly didn't go through with it, I felt like I had no right to take his balls away! But it was the thought of all those poor staffs in rescue centres getting put down that made me do it.. Dogs are killed all the time because of unscrupulous owners not neutering, then letting their dogs get jiggy with no regard for what will happen to the pups.. It didn't seem to phase my dog at all either, he's still a cheeky little git!

    It's all about how you raise them. Socialize them from an early age with all kinds of animals and make sure they see them as Alpha and part of the pack. There shouldn't be any problems then. Works for all dogs by the way. Perhaps you could Clicker-train your dog to accept and be gentile with other species of animals. Making it a fun game and conditioning them to associate small animals with praise and affection.
