Finally someone was able to simply and fully explain a simple rigging procedure. Thank you, Ryan! One comment: I'm one of those "left-click selectors" and I was having some difficulty with the instructions around the 15 - 16 minute mark. Obviously, when I'm in "Weight Paint" mode, attempting to select a bone by simply left-clicking on it results in weight-painting the skin mesh instead. Fortunately, with a little experimenting, I discovered that "Shift-Left-Click" or "Ctrl-Left-Click" selects the bone without weight-painting the mesh. Again, many thanks for these arm and leg rigging tutorials!
Oh your right! I messed that up in the tutorial. Sorry about that. I use right click select so I assumed that left click worked the same way. But yes, If you Shift + Left Click, that will select the different bones in the weight paint.
I have a question about the knee part of leg IKs. Does the knee pole target need to be parented to a certain leg bone or have any specific constraints of its own? When I move my character's leg IKs up and forward, the legs twist around to be upside down and backwards, haha. (The feet and pelvis are unaffected- just the calf and thigh become spun around.)
If you're moving the ankle, and are getting a bad case of helicopter leg, make sure you tab into edit mode on your armature, select the ankle bone and knee target, and clear parent. That will fix it.
@@kentrebeccadavis4631 Oh ok. I am sorry to hear that. Yeah, I should try to get a better screencast keys addon. You can click on the CC button on the RUclips player to see the subtitles.

You need to take pauses between talking instead of singing a song non stop. It takes time understand things. With constant singing we can't understand shit

If your limb goes wrong way, in Edit Move move Knee slight forward, it should fix it.
thanks for the tip!
This.
finally! thank you!
You're welcome!
when i lift my left. the knee goes outwards. It does not stay straight . Why is that happening?
Just curious, any reason why you'd want to do this if the targetless auto-IK posing function works according to one's needs?

My foot doesn't move after applying the IK constraint. Instead, my foot just rotates about the ankle.
