Skronk is definitely a word already and typically applies to really noisy, dissonant guitars or sax. Usually used to describe free jazz. Think John Zorn sorta stuff. Daughters isn't really skronk. They started out in the sort of early 2000s spazzy grind/mathcore scene (think Blood Brothers, The Locust), but have moved more in the direction of noise rock. This latest album had some elements of industrial rock in there, too.
Soooo like Kaydot?
This dude is so awesome
Interviewer is great. Respect!
Jon is a dope ass drummer since the day!
their bodies are opening up...
This world is opening up up up up
“hey play sumn on the aux”
“gotcha”
“yo this is totally skronk!”
Seems like a pretty low-key guy. I'll have to check out his band sometime.
You truly should.
You need to!
Their band isn’t low key lol
What? You haven't heard them? Live in the kpit, you're welcome
Fuckin love these guys. I didn't think they could top the self titled album, and they did so with flying colors. Could you imagine somebody hearing Canada Songs or their As the Sun Sets material and going straight to YWGWYW?
As the sun sets was fking dope
Jon always looks like he needs a wee sleep
Love this group, no bad songs. but john looks like he needs like 6 weeks to dry out to be honest, wanna see more of these guys, not another obituary
You had me at "hi mom."
If someone asks you what Daughters sounds like just say, "Anxiety."
This was a pretty good interview!
I have never clicked on something faster.
#Skronkcore
Also, pretty chill interview, man. Been awhile since I caught your vids, but I'm back.

SKRONK mos def lives
There's an actual genre called "Skweee" which means Contemporary R&B + Electronic
The theme song for this video is totally skrrrrroonk
I hear a Jaye Jayle track playing in the background of the interview ! Nice
You piqued my interest. So here you go. The definition of our new favourite word (i a musical context). Skronk: Popular music of a kind that is experimental and deliberately discordant. Cheers from Argentina. :)
4:19 Nick Sadler
Good catch
Bro good catch I haven’t noticed that
Good catch!
That was a ghost

that guy needs a nap
draxx them skronks?
I mean who fuckin cares about genres but... its pretty clear they're a noise rock/noise metal band. Easy answer. If the Yow-esque vocals aren't the indicator idk what the fuck isnt. haha
Sorry bro.. this bubble you created wont burst. It's going to manifest into a vicious new breed of genre now. Realism rock?
You sound like a breath of fresh air into a stale world.
it’s noise rock and it’s been a thing since the 60s
how short is he
5.9
who cares?
