      I have to tell my story...I was around when Mike first came into the NBA...I was a Lakers fan, my old man was Chicago. We were about to watch them play... I turned away and turned back and Mike went into the air...all I could say was " He FLYING "! My old man just laughed and said "sweep that sh*t off the floor "😂 They beat the Lakers. The man was just incredible! Great memories watching him today ❤

    Bruh... you could expect this level of intensity and creativity from MJ every game he played. It didn't matter if he was playing against the best or the worst in the league. The man gave 100% on offensive and defense each and every night he was on the court. That is what sets him apart from all others. He never cheated the game and he wanted all smoke too.

  • @Mike-kv5pl
    @Mike-kv5pl 2 года назад +32

    Jordan played hard at BOTH ends of the court. He gave maximum effort on offense and defense. He also played 82 games in a season 9 times....including his last season at the age of 40. And he did this playing in a much more physical era of basketball than what you see today. Also, there was no "load management". If he could play, he would play.

      Not every game, literally, at least not after his first retirement. He turned into a jump shooter/post scorer at that point in time because he is getting old. He still got to the rim with crazy acrobats but occasionally.
      Even his jumpshot mechanics changed over time. It became better and conserves more energy.

    MJ ran a 4.3, 40 and could throw a football over 60 yards. His vertical was probably every bit of what they reported it as, especially when he had full adrenaline. The guy just rocketed off the ground in his young days. And he had a ton of ball skills even at an early age. That turn around jumper became something that was next level as he aged. MJ played all those 82 game seasons and rarely took more than the last 3 or 4 minutes of a quarter off. With more modern medicine and supplmenets MJ could probably play until he was 42 or 43 at near is 36 year old level. His NBA numbers don't fully stack up due to 3 years of college and about 2 years playing baseball.

  • @skarath
    @skarath 2 года назад +14

    I lived through MJ's entire career. He single handedly made basketball more popular. I'm from the Detroit area but I was lucky to be able to watch the Bulls games on cable and I watched them instead of the Pistons. MJ made great basketball players look pedestrian. He came into the league while defense was hand checking. It did not matter to him. He drove through you anyway... in his first couple of years he DID NOT PASS THE BALL, HE DROVE THROUGH THE ENTIRE DEFENSE AND SCORED ON THEM ANYWAY WHILE THEY WERE HAND CHECKING. He later started to pass the ball and then won championships year in and year out. I have never seen an athlete dominate his sport so much it really felt like he was in a league all of is own.

If you can do it over and over again that isn't exertion that is just pure skill and was just him. Notice how effortlessly he was doing it. He was just waaaay better than everyone else. Therefore GOAT. He was still able to play all of the minutes and all of the games. You think he was putting himself through a lot for him he wasn't. He was relentless and tireless. Could be GOAT's bow down to the GOAT. Unguardable with no weaknesses. Comparing anyone to MJ is blasphemy. Why do you think Kobe and Iverson idolized this man? Yea, that is what is so ridiculous about these highlight videos, Jordan's entire career pretty much looked like these highlight videos. He was like this every night. Another thing about his physical conditioning, not only did he play both sides of the ball at 100%, he also played all 82 games an astounding 9 times and had two other seasons where he played 80 and 81 games. So basically in 11 seasons he missed 3 games. To put that in perspective, Lebron in 19 seasons has played all 82 games 1 time.

    Thank you Bruh...Mike made the ridiculous seem easy. How you summed up this reaction is how and why those of us who saw MJ play wonder how he is compared to LeBron or any of the current players. His skill and determination was unmatched. There are plenty of great players before and after Mike. But all you have to do is look at what he was able to do.
    No he didn't go between his legs and dunk. Times were different then but he would dunk on anyone from anywhere and at anytime no matter who you were. And it happened again and again. Vince Carter was a flashier dunker he was also more of a vertical drunker like Dominique. Mike would just consistently take off from further out and before anyone would expect it or from a crazy angle to the basket and do it again and again. These are some of the reasons he is considered the best dunker in history. And like you said the layup package was crazy. And we haven't even got to his defense yet. They can be good, solid players. But they just might not have a lot of plays that "pop" off the screen. MJ would be doing these ridiculous plays multiple times every single game. That's why there's so many clips of him, it's almost endless highlights. And not only did he want to beat you but he wanted to embarrass you in front of your wifey and sidepiece. The guy's mindset was maniacal. There will never be another one like him.

    Nice vid, MJ came out to win and dominate, but he also wanted to put on a show for the fans, it was like a concert. He did things that were entertaining, beautiful and artistic. Even with todays athletes you would need multiple players to equal the things MJ did alone, a lot of his highlights are unmatched. Mike’s layup package is #1 dawg, no one has anything better. Jordan played with the defense, Bird did that too, look at the layup at 7:38 he jumps, taps his chest a couple times, adjusts his elbow around Barry and lays it off the glass while hanging in the air. I'm a UNC guy I live in Carolina Charlotte to be exact, Jordan didn't even visit any of the other schools because he knew he wanted to go to Carolina and his backyard so he could be next to his parents. And for those who don't know he had a very close bond with his mom and his dad. I have to say his dad was really close to him because he told him how to dribble a ball and help them practice and get into basketball signed them up got them in the Little League both baseball and basketball.

    And In 88, most people know that Jordan was DPOY and scoring champ in the same season but there was so much more.
    MJ actually had a stack of accolades and records that will never be replicated in one season. like winning DPOY, League MVP, Scoring Title, Steals Leader. Everyone knows that. But he was also regular season Total points leader, All-Star Game MVP, Playoff PPG Leader, 1st player to ever post 200Stl/100Blk, only player in NBA history to post back-to-back 50-point games in the playoffs. And for good measure, won the slam dunk competition. No player including LeBron James have recorded all those accolades throughout their entire careers, let alone in one season like Michael did.
    -Michael Jordan is proven to be the greatest scorer of all time,
    -Greatest defensive guard of all time.
    -Top 3 greatest perimeter defenders of all time.
    -Greatest Playoffs/Finals performer of all time.
    -Greatest pickpocket of all time.
    -Greatest blocking guard of all time. (1st all-time with 893)
    -Greatest clutch player of all time.

    LJ ain't doing none of that ever, you never seen what MJ could do before he came & so far we haven't seen nothing close to MJ after he retired like over 20yrs.ago, cause a GOAT is different you not suppose to see the likes of a real GOAT again that's one of the many things that makes him the GOAT of GOATS he stands out as different, & he was just as good on both sides of the ball, example you a young man in LJ era, & all it took was a video of MJ to prove to you who the real GOAT is! MJ game & style of play makes & close the case, that's why MJ not out here arguing over petty debates all you got to do is watch a video of MJ, & when you see him play you realize he is just like Superman, the strength of his offensive game is in the air, & when you think about it in some sports like basketball, or football, & yes even in the military, a good, strong air attack is a defense worst nightmare, & nearly unstoppable, that's what Jordan was offensively a High Powered Massive Air Attack!

In the 13 years in the NBA he played 12 , full 82 game seasons the one year when he didn't do it was his second year when he broke his big toe compared to LeBron in his entire 17 year career he's only played 2 full 82 game seasons in a time where it's easy to score and there's no defense the NBA right now compared to when Jordan played you saw the footage Jordan was being tackled choked tripped I mean they were beating him up because he was just too much for them can you imagine LeBron playing in that era he would not have the 17-year career he has right now because he would have got beat the hell up this is a guy that flops from no contact Jordan took the contact and slammed dunk's on their asses and he was clutch he was never afraid to take that last shot or game winning shot unlike LeBron did LeBron choked when the game was on the line or when it mattered the most you couldn't depend on LeBron to make that most important crucial free throw all that matters is the eye test when you see Jordan play or LeBron play what do you eye's tell you what a player is good and great at or someone that has many flaws . When you see Jordan play you were in all and amazed you can't believe what you were seeing can you say that for LeBron hell no the eye test says it all where one player was great at everything and the other player had many flaws
