I love quite a few of Matt’s songs…It makes me remember my partner We would have been 30 years together but he couldn’t hang on for those few days .. throat cancer isn’t what I was expecting.. I only wish I recorded his voice before he couldn’t talk
So grateful that my partner took me to see Matt Albert on Valentine's Day 2014 in Palm Springs. It is a beautiful and a blessing when you are there with your best friend, who is also the lover of your life and partner of four years and listening to a amazing musician with his sensitive soul. I cried tears of pain and joy during his performance :) I hope Matt Alber comes back to Southern California soon!
I've always loved the fact that Monarch butterflies migrate over the span of 3 or 4 generations. Millions of them are born with a genetic compass to go back to their beginning, even though they've never seen it, or will live to make the journey complete. It's one of those great cosmic mysteries that keep me up at night trying to find a way to use it in my writing. And then, of course, you come along with this. *sigh*
Thank you Matt from lockdown in London. I can’t tell you how much your work has meant to me over the years. You’ve made me happy through some difficult times... .
Me too, man. I first heard it around 2009 (?) and couldn't get it out of my mind and then sang along with the lyrics for about 100 times before coming close to 'nailing it.'. This masterful song touches areas so profound that they almost risk both spoiling the joy it brings and releasing Pandora's boxes of difficult memories. That this song has not been a hit on Billboard or other major lists is just a scandal. The lyrics are so uniquely inventive and fanciful, with depth, and the melodic line, key signature, instrumentation and Matt's gorgeous voice make this song a specially-shining jewel in ALL music, not just a subgenre of loosely-defined LGBT music. 🥂 Cheers
I'm also in love with his music, so as with him as such an incredible persona. From one second to another I've bought all his stuff and turned myself into a huge fan. Great Matt!
Wow Matt, this is a beautiful song and musical arrangement. You still give me goosebumps when I hear your beautiful voice. Thanks for such fantastiic and refreshing music.
I don't want to ride this roller coaster I think I want to get off But they buckled me down Like it's the end of the world If you don't want to have this conversation Then you better get out Cause we're climbing to our death At least that's what they want you to think Just in case we jump the track I have a confession to make It's something like a cork screw
Every once in a while, when I'm bored out of my mind at a desk, I watch this. So good.

I don't want to ride this roller coaster
I think I want to get off
But they buckled me down
Like it's the end of the world
If you don't want to have this conversation
Then you better get out
Cause we're climbing to our death
At least that's what they want you to think
Just in case we jump the track
I have a confession to make
It's something like a cork screw
Beautiful song!
