    This week's video is all about my running/hydration vests. I had a comment asking about which ones I use and seeing as I have just ordered a new Salomon Pro Sense 10 it felt like perfect timing to make this video! Let me know in the comments below which style of vest you like to run in :)
    Thanks so much for watching! Don't forget to subscribe for more :)

    Very useful, thanks Lucy!! I've just been using a flip belt for over 3 years now, which has been great, though like you that I'm just now dipping my toes into the ultra world, I'm gonna have to finally invest in a vest. I just did my first 50k ultra 2 weeks ago!!😁 It's sure made me hungry for more!!! ENJOY yours Lucy and RUN HAPPY😊!! It's a massive achievement just to get to the start line, so at that point you're already a winner!!! 🏅🏃🏻‍♀💪🏻🙋🏻‍♀

    Thank you so much for reading my previous comment and creating this video on vests. It was SUPER helpful.
    Good luck on your ultra! Looking forward to hearing all about it in a future video.

    I have a Salomon Active Skin 8 (unisex) and got it on clearance, thankfully. I love it for anything more than about 1 hour, where I like to carry water/Tailwind/snacks.
    Hope your ultra goes great! You've got this!

    Just circling back to this vid. Thanks for posting it. Very helpful! Can't wait to hear about your post-victory ultra mindset, what you do for a break, when you will start running again afterward (2-3 weeks? More? Less? What works for you are you finding, post/marathon+ distances?)!

    Great vid 👍🏼 I got a Salomon vest off Amazon but much older season so was 2/3 off the normal price. Love it and my first one so good to try for a cheaper price.

    Great video! I was just gifted for Mother's Day the Nathan Vaporairess 3.0. Absolutely love it! I dont even feel it and it fits well since it's gender specific. For shorter distances I use handheld, the Nathan Exoshot 2.0 insulated.

    That was fascinating and informative. Thanks. I’ve often wondered what best you use. I’ve tried a few belts with varying results. One had bottles. It is actually quite good but not so comfortable having the weight and bulk down low. Kids bought me a torpedo 7 hydration back pack. That’s good but only enough space to put keys in and you would have to stop to take off to reach any gels. I normally take a belt for phone and gels. So have been interested in investing in a vest. But trying to work out exactly what I need so I don’t waste money!
    Loving what you are doing😊

      I’m happy it was helpful 😀 I have been very lucky because I can just try out whatever my husband buys 😅 I wouldn’t want to waste money either and some of the vests can be so expensive! That’s so kind, thank you 😊❤️

    Just getting ready to start my first 50k training. Best of luck on yours! I have the Salomon Adv Skin 5 for most of my trail running. They are pricey, but so worth it for comfort and storage capabilities.

    I actually use my Salomon Sense Pro 10 on the majority of my runs although I only bring the included water bottles on the weekly long run. Great for carrying my phone, earphone case and keys as I need my music or podcasts. Very light and surprisingly comfortable all things considered but rather expensive. Mine is actually a women's large because the mens sizes were only on special in XS/S in my region.

    Perfect timing on this video as I'm trying to find a vest to buy today. I appreciate your advice. I'm between a Camelbak and a Salomon right now and realistically I should get the cheaper one.

    Tailwind is awesome, i’m a mid distance runner, half marathons are the farthest i go, but tailwind is great for energy before hard track work or for long runs as nutrition. But 15 miles is the farthest i ever go.

    I do feel lucky that because I focus on shorter races I can get away with carrying as little as possible. For longer events such as a marathon/ultra or something like Hydrox a vest must be really useful for the training and race day. Good luck for your race Lucy!!

    Love the vest video. Looking for something light weight and breezy to carry my phone and keys. It can be hard to get my phone out of my pocket while running. The free train vest looks like it would solve my issues. Thanks Lucy. Good luck on the Ultra! Best wishes. 👟❤️😀

    What I'm looking for is a vest that is very reflective. I run super early in the morning so I need visibility but also a phone pocket. I currently run in a safety vest, which is super light (all mesh) but it shifts around a lot and I don't like feeling like I have to tug it back in place constantly.

    • @lucyshawvlogs
      @lucyshawvlogs  Год назад

      That is a good idea for early morning runs. I hope you find a good one! I wouldn’t like having to keep tucking it back in either 😆

    Aonijie: It's not just good. It's good enough.
    When the vests cost $30, you can have them for very specific conditions.

    • @Updog89

      Mine always end up in tatters after 4 months or so of use, it feels so wasteful to keep repurchasing them. But I like the design! 😅

    • @hypothalapotamus5293
      @hypothalapotamus5293 3 дня назад

      @@Updog89 I've had one for two or three years without issue. Fairly hard use including mountain trail running. Washed with delicate settings.
      My quality control issues are typically not with the vest, but the bladders themselves... I have been pretty hit or miss with a few brands (totally wouldn't purchase Aonijie bladders).
