I love that K3LA on those MCS Bi-levels. I wonder if the gong bell was replaced because when those were still Metra, they had gong bells.

Thanks! It is actually a choked out K5LA that will hopefully have the restrictor removed in the next few months. These did have the gong bells but they were replaced by what sounds to be some kind of GE bell. You can see where the gong used to be in some of the close up pictures of these cars.

Yah, sometimes it's hard to tell between a K3LA and a K5LA. Also, how did I not know, it said in the title. What a nut job I am. LOL. Honestly, I think a mechanical bell would go much better than the GE bell.

MetraMP36414 Haha it's all good man, those dang restrictors make them sound very K3 like haha. But I believe the bell is mechanical. Sounds like something from a Amtrak P42 but I am not sure where exactly the new bells came from.

Yah, I think a standard mechanical bell would sound better than a GE one.

MetraMP36414 Yeah, I agree, but I do like the P42 bell though. Gives these cars a unique sound.
