My husband and I worked at HBC stores in Northern ON and QC for two years back in the late 80's. We still have our 5 point blanket that we bought when we were there. There is some really cool Canadian history around the HBC.
I liked that you read the information to us on the signs at the Langley historical site and gave us some of the history and explanations I also appreciate your positive attitudes
Always nice to find gems near home. 7:10 Fond memories, the music pulled at my heart especially at 7:21. The fort reminded me of Fort Michilimackinac (lower peninsula) and Fort Mackinac on Mackinac island. What, no samosas? Nice vid.
Nice backyard adventure! I have to say I really like the Promaster chassis..I’m 6’2” and the driving position is comfortable. I swivel the passenger seat backwards for my dog..no sure if legal to drive that way but it provides her with more protection..she does feel a bit confused seated that way though.😂
Another great spot that you should consider if you travel out this way! We really enjoy driving the Promaster as well. We didn’t think ours would start if both seats were not facing to the front, but now wonder if that applies only to the driver side. Thanks for the comment and safe travels! 🚐
I've never been here but often tempted to find a spot one weekday evening and just commute to work for a few days; have a nice river view to relax after work. I never realized your boat was Alpaca Raft; I was recently looking into them and curious what model you have? Would you go with that model again if you were to replace it?
Definitely a nice commute option! We have the Explorer 42 and love it. Lots of room for one and gear and for two on short paddles. Would buy again! We also quite like the Oryx. Take a look at the Kokopelli boats too, tend to be a little heavier but also beefier.
Derby Reach is just 20 minutes from our home and we have RV'd there a few times. It is a very relaxing campground right on the river. But it is always full all summer long. Congratulations on comp.leting your hike; I havecycled that route and found that to be a challange.
Great video. I liked the beginning, getting the van ready and heading out for another adventure. Waiting for our Pleasure way to arrive next month and then we can get out there too.
2:05 incorrect. It’s mostly all reserved all the time. This year in 2022 almost all of the campsites (weekends) were gone within 2 hours for the whole season
Appreciate the update! Too bad, it looks like they changed it last year. We were there a few times on a first come first serve basis a few years ago but likely easier to manage this way. A few BC parks have moved to same. Out of curiosity we just checked online and found a few sites in March and April that were open, but you have to be able to travel mid week. Doesn’t work for many folks. Suspect few if any in summer months!
Derby Reach ( Edgewater camping ) is not a FCFS campground , If you don`t have a reservation you will not get a site , also you can NOT use the campsites for day use.
Actually you could do both when we were there. It is a 4 year old video so appreciate the update. Like many parks, demand probably required the changes.

Agree, HBC was pivotal to much of the development across the country! Thanks for the comment!
