In the world of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), we often see vibrant, multi-colored visualizations that mesmerize and intrigue us. But there's so much more to CFD than just these captivating images. Over the years, the field has seen enormous growth and development, transcending from a concept to a core research tool today. 🚀
The rapid progression in hardware technology, the increased efficiency of general-purpose computing on graphics processing units (GPUs), and the ever-evolving algorithms have all contributed to the monumental leap in CFD's capabilities. As a result, these simulations have reached an unprecedented level of sophistication and reliability, opening up a whole new dimension in our understanding of fluid dynamics. 💻🌊
It's time we see CFD as more than just a colorful canvas. It's a potent tool of discovery, innovation, and understanding in the realm of fluid dynamics! 🌐🔬💫
This simulation was executed on a GPU, utilizing the Lattice-Boltzmann-Method software M-STAR CFD. If this piques your interest or you'd like to learn more, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

    Looks cool :)
Can it be somehow compared with "classical" CFD like Star-CCM+ - in terms of simulation and/or model preparation time?

We've employed the Lattice Boltzmann code M-STAR CFD. The mesh generation takes under a minute to complete. As a result, it took me a mere 20 minutes to set up the model and commence running the solver.

      @@thinkfluiddynamix4834 That's interesting, especially the "20 minutes" part :)
Can I ask about the simulation wall time and used GPU?
PS Do I get it right that LBM is transient-only?
