Two days ago, i got gifted a 1/18 Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing. Guess the color of this beautiful toy ? You guessed it, red. Exactly like in this video. I was so excited when I saw this video in my home page, it felt like magic was in the air :) Beautifull car and cool video.
@@Gullwingman I really hope so, you are really a great documentarist about the Silver Arrows. Never thought to talk about, I don't know, the application of volumetric compression in Mercs? Another idea would be a video about the wholesome history of the Arrows in DTM. Just a pair of tips, I don't want to interfere with your plans, since whatever argument you touch turns into pure Gold. ;)
Thank you for another incredible video. And thanks to Kienle Automobiltechnik for allowing you this opportunity. Let's use this video to convince Mechatronik to give you the keys to one of their CLK GTRs 🤣 It's also nice to see you out and about and with the car you're talking about. Gives the video a whole new level and really allows you to talk about the car even more in-depth. The shots are also well done! Hope we get to see more videos like this.
Hey man, I'm very happy to see you again. and i really like this new format. i have only one small suggestion . please normalize your voice across the entire file before exporting and uploading to youtube. your voice outside the car was too loud and i think it was distorted. but everywhere else was very good. and as always Can't wait for the next one! Cheers!
Thanks for that feedback and I have to agree. Part of it was really a pretty sore throat on that day 🤧 But I admit sound leveling and maybe some more equalizing would have helped. Promise to be better next time 💪😁
Excellent video! Very concise with quite a bit of relevant history and information. I have shared the video's link with other members of the Gull Wing Group through the group's chat forum as I'm sure they will find it equally enjoyable. Also, you may find it interesting that the picture in the video at the 6:10 mark includes my father (in the hat with the cigarette) and his wife (sitting on the doorsill) taken on Feb 5th, 1954 at the car's world debut at the New York Auto Show. I actually still have the hat he's wearing, made by Lock & Co of London, on display in my office. On that day, he placed an order for one of the first Gullwings built to be delivered to him at the factory in the Summer of 1954. When Mercedes was unable to deliver one that soon, and he found out that there was going to be a Roadster version built, he place the first order for the Roadster. I still have that car in my garage. Keep up the great work.
Wow, what an amazing story! Thank you so much for sharing it, that’s really special and means a lot to me! It’s fantastic to hear that you’ve kept that Roadster in your family over so many decades, what an incredible piece of history. I hope you will keep and enjoy it forever! Are you US based? Also thanks a lot for sharing the video within your Gullwing Group. Hopefully more people will enjoy the story of this masterpiece (I mean the car, not my video). All the best to you and if you like to send me a picture of your roadster I’d appreciate it a lot!! 🙏😍
Absolute masterclass Video, car & Story

Just another glorious video by Gullwingman. Dankeschön!

Your voice at 13:40 was so smooth and really fit well with the type of car your driving and the atmosphere!
