    When Maggie and Paul were first killed, and Alex was not arrested, I joined a private FB group where they speculated about the murders and circumstances. I had never heard of this family or any of the past situations, nor have I set foot in their state. I did, however guess automatically that Alex shot and killed them. I was shocked how much denial and pushback the group, especially the administrator, gave and refused to even consider Alex as a suspect. I left the group, with a post saying "Alex, he didn't do 'nuffin'." A blind man could see that he was it, and why.

    I think this is a family of entitled bullies….Maggie was a mean girl out of touch with people’s feelings, Paul just an arrogant bully. No, I don’t feel sorry for them. They didn’t deserve to die that way but how long could the charade go on? Maggie said she didn’t believe that Paul was driving the boat. She just didn’t see the damaged young man she had help to enable.

      @charliebarrow7086 Год назад +8

      I fully agree with the "mean girl out of touch with people's feelings comment". Maggie was an entitled shallow human who lived a live of idle narcissism. When her house maid died she had zero empathy and tried to cover up what happened, when the young lady died on the boat she covered up the actions of her spoilt brat called Paul. I have zero sympathy for her. I do feel for Paul though as he is the product of his parents and could have turned out differently if they hadn't been such losers.

      @Lindsay R. That is tragic, especially considering who murdered her. But still, while she was alive she was an entitled, shallow human being. Stating that doesn't mean that I stated that because of her obviously flawed character she deserved to die. So please calm down.

    • @charliebarrow7086
      @charliebarrow7086 Год назад +7

      @Lindsay R. I like to be positive but not gullible. I heard that phone call between LE and Maggie when her housekeeper of decades died. No emotion at all. I also saw the Murdaugh's car drive past the other frantic parents on the night the fatal boat accident happened and a young girl died. Her parents had to wait beyond the cordoned off area while Maggie drove straight down to the water. Heartless, cold. Sorry, based on all the things presented during the trial I don't see anything sweet in Maggie. She was an airhead, superficial, cold-hearted, irresponsible woman, who had nothing to do all day, didn't work and obviously didn't even dedicate her time to raising decent sons. But naturally, even such useless airheads don't deserve to be murdered.

  • @francisedejesus

    Maggie and Paul did not deserve to die. However, Maggie did not teach her sons any values which is why Paul did whatever he felt like it. Buster cheated at college and was expelled. Neither sons had any consequences for any wrong doing, so they both felt very entitled.

      Love to see her humiliated! I’m trying to figure out what you would gain by that?! We have no idea what Maggie knew,. I agree they both raised their boys to think they are entitled and answer to no one. There is a lot of information about Maggie not attaching to Paul as a baby due to post partem depression. She admitted that she was a bad mother for Paul and in moments of retrospect acknowledge the entitled way he was raised was his parents fault.
      I think as in many of us there can be 2 directly opposing qualities about certain issues and how he Gand,ed them. I think Paul’s worst behaviour came out when he was drunk. If he had been raised in a different home with different parents…whether they had or had not loads of money, it would be interesting, but of course a stupid fantasy because he was raised by the Murdaugh.
      I have difficulty wanting someone to be humiliated. It is a sad and unconscionable way in which she and Paul died.

    No one but no one knows the daily life of another, if one or more of this family shared with open heart, their joys and especially sorrows of their complete hurt and pain caused by their loved one. That someone who was their friend and confident became more and more outside the boundaries of a compassionate friend, and empath. That individual, friend, sister, clergy, aunt, uncle, cousin, brother, knows the hallows of the brokenness which was shared to them. That confident eventually without realization became the "codependent" who surely tired from time to time, who surely chose sides, with even good reason. This, codependent was just that, another enabler, unable to convince their friend to seek the help they could not give. Surely the confident pointed to a counselor, a doctor, a therapist, clergy, and pressed their ailing emotionally torn friend toward leaving, if not a wise attorney with whom they could seek a divorce, uncover misgivings of the financial kind and more. Too much was known and at stake to expose the misgivings perhaps, facing those truths were more a recipe for disaster and perhaps Maggie Murdaugh was so overwhelmed with a realization that not much was ever truly shared with her, that too much may have been hidden, perhaps her realization, she had become too trusting, too lost in what at first was comfort, became her own way of dealing with the pain and heart ache, by shopping, buying, doing, creating "family weekends at the beach in what spoke to her, perhaps looking all around her, she saw what enabling, covering, and concealing truths had become. One owned nightmare, perhaps she was in therapy, perhaps one confident was worn to tears with Maggie's reality of what had amassed, perhaps she overlooked, or was not entitled to know the true medical diagnosis of the time or 2, or 3, her husband Alex spent in Detox, or Rehab. Persons of his nature, have a beguiling way of navigating their life and the lives around them to meet their scenario, what their expectations are, and their calculated ways of manipulating the reality of others to save themselves. People like this draw those they manipulate away from the truth to their truth. And once suspected of questioning that truth, regaining their own mindset, people who attempt to disconnect from the emotional grip of someone with full control over you and the finances needed to break free. In my opinion, seems everyone was a victim, in different ways, as Shakespeare quote, "all the world's a stage, the people merely players," in that we find a truth, too sad there were so many victims, all drawn into the web in one way or another, knowingly and unknowingly, become victimized, good, bad, or indifferent, lives marred, cheated, forever changed, and often times, narcissists create narcissist and in so doing stay in control, how by the very "types" of narcissist that develop from years of emotional tirades, entitlement theories, and berating, never being good enough is never good enough, these lead to young "at risk" behaviors in children, in quite sheltered types and more, in drugs, alcohol, crimes, and more. There is no one size fits all, money cannot buy that freedom, only mindfulness, intuitive mindedness, and the power of critical thinking, thinking beyond a pack mentality. Always giving in, giving way to the bully, the narcissists, one cannot buy that peace of mind, it must be developed over time, like nature, if we do not nurture we will not thrive into productive people in healthy relationships. I have seen, husband's and wives both complete each other in their egregious and disregulated inner child lackings to create and curate these entitlements in support of their personal entitled egregious and warped sense of being lessee than deep down inside, and they use these traits to maximize their power, their loathing of others they come to believe are lesser than they, but in actually, it is they who lack the skills to let go of the material possessions that which makes them who they are that and only that. Deep down inside their inner child is sad, confused, angry, fearful, and feels lesser. This is what we need to realize how very deep and twisted this becomes to all involved,it creates divisive families. On the surface these individuals are acting a part, what they want and need you to perceive about them. They all feel shame, and for that they only fix it temporarily by shunning, and acting above all others. They use others and in the end they take credit for the good they themselves could not and would not deliver on. Take note the time they did NOT SPEND with their elders, sick, confused, and in need, they rather had others with hearts of compassion doing it all, even to hire others to do what they claimed they had no time for. Ah but think did they ever lose step doing what they wanted and needed, vacations, beach outings, day-cations, hunting, fishing, sports, boating, travel and more. A drop in from time to time with a sick family member as they are groomed, ran to doctors by others because their lives are simply NOT going to be interrupted, not even by a sick ailing family member who has given all, and will to their grave. This story plays out far far to often in families with far less. And people just like this, astonishingly pull in others known as their "flying monkeys," to believe, and discredit all good people they have used to do what they were incapable of, "showing true care, giving true comfort, creating til the end of life a true family dynamic for their ailing devoted sick family members, rather they are disregulated by their parents, family members and advocates that they see as slowing their life down. Not uncommon to hear them say, I'm busy I have a business to run, hence the family business, the same ppl whom created their bounty in business, who never lost a step in building their business taking time to be their when need be for others. This is something these individuals missed along the way, they missed that integral aspect of rolemodeling by their parents, to take the time for others be their and do as you can. The new money is disregulated, over ambitious with fault of ineptness, that all they have and are egregiously taking they deep down inside know they did not build it with with the compassion their predecessors did. Think what have they given up, as a mom & dad were housebound dependent on hired care and others caring enough to do and spend time. That is what they became. We don't see it unless we experience it, unless we grasp that we will not "understand" I get it, I surely have looked in the eyes of the beast and they are soulless. What they say and do, when they think no one tells, when they think no one sees. That is why their "flying monkeys" are so important to them. Until they no longer need them to discredit their real threat, sadly they do because there are more of them, than the one decent advocate you are. And that my friend is the sad unadulterated truth.

      Well, after having heard her phone call to 911 when her house keeper died, and after having heard that the Murdaughs were allowed to drive through down to the docks the night Mallory Beach died, while her frantic parents weren't given the privilege, I must say that I have understood Maggie to be a stone cold narcissistic, money hungry lady. If you have the power to drive through a cordoned off area, and you know that other children were involved, you do not just drive past the begging parents who could not reach their children and were held back by the police. That disgusted me badly. Maggie did live a shallow life with little consideration for the hardships of others. Therefore, and after careful consideration, my empathy is rather limited......Maggie and Paul are dead, Alec is in prison and Buster will most likely end up there too, if he doesn't get his act together and realize that the times, where his name protected him, are over. Good riddance to all of the Murdaugh Clan.

    Paul was a drunken entitled punk with a nickname to boot.
    Karma the equalizer realized. Not one ounce of sympathy from me.

    I'm surprised how much hate is in the comments here.

      I'm not at all surprised.. Most of the comments are from people acting as though they knew the family personally. They don't see or care to understand that Maggie and Paul still have family members that miss them. I know how much I would miss MY sister and nephew. It would HURT reading what media writes about, but some people are crude and unfeeling. They would rather hear the imperfections of individuals, than any good they must have had in them . Sad....ALL OF IT.
