You and Logan killing it Captain Joe. I can tell y’all had some good father-son time. Thanks for the instructions on how to land a Sheepshead. I look forward to catching some like that one day. Tight lines brother.
Awesome fish, getting me fired up to hit the rigs whenever this wind chills out. Nice job on the big sheep release as well. She'll make someone elses day for sure.
Thanks Capt! Yep, That was a Big Girl, I always try to let those big females go if I can. It is prime time, if the weather will just give us a break. Good Luck out there!
Sweet Sheep head release. ♥️Love a respectful angler. I must say you kinda earned my subscription. ♥️Great information. Looking forward to following you.
The fg is a good knot for sure! I still like a good uni to uni most of the time though. Just a personal preference thing. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Thanks, the same thing is happening here. People can be very greedy, it is a shame for sure! We all need to do our part to help the resource. Thanks for watching!
I couldn't agree more, they fight hard, taste good and they like the colder weather when it can be more difficult to catch other species. Caught a 11 pound sheep last year, that was my PB. Now I'm looking for a 12. Appreciate ya watching, and thanks for the comment!
@Fish Bump TV Yes for the Florida panhandle big sheeps and both red and black drum are the hardest fighting inshore fish. Sheeps by far are the best table fair.
That's a good question. I have never tried squid for sheepshead. I hope to make another sheepshead video soon, maybe I will try squid against the shrimp and crab and see how it compares. Thanks for your thoughts, and welcome to the channel!
The right hook and knot are a good place to start. Get yourself some fiddler crabs or live shrimp, and find some good barnacle encrusted structure. The sheepshead will happen!
That’s the biggest sheepshead I’ve ever seen!!! Congratulations!!!
Haha, yep! It was a nice one! Thanks for watching

I missed the part of the video. How heavy is your split shot?
I like a #2 split shot, with a 1/0 owner ssw hook. Thanks for watching!
This is my favorite target species. I catch them in the bayous that large at the right time.
I couldn't agree more, they fight hard, taste good and they like the colder weather when it can be more difficult to catch other species. Caught a 11 pound sheep last year, that was my PB. Now I'm looking for a 12. Appreciate ya watching, and thanks for the comment!

Nice video
Thanks Mike! I really Appreciate it!
You cannot miss with live crab's.
Yes, they do like the crabs! Thanks for watching!
How deep is the water there ?
Do you ever think of using a piece of squid to keep the bite going or will they even bite squid. Squid is tough and hard to remove from the hook.
That's a good question. I have never tried squid for sheepshead. I hope to make another sheepshead video soon, maybe I will try squid against the shrimp and crab and see how it compares. Thanks for your thoughts, and welcome to the channel!
@@FishBumpTV I would try squid in conjunction with crab or shrimp.
I will give that a try, Thanks!
Well I tie the same knots on my leader and hook. Maybe I'm doing something right.
The right hook and knot are a good place to start. Get yourself some fiddler crabs or live shrimp, and find some good barnacle encrusted structure. The sheepshead will happen!
