after watching your video and a french video I bought the Jerome David's titanium one from RM leather. snakewood handle. I liked the blade. I do occasionally leather works, but like good tools

I use 5mm pricking irons to make my stitch line and 1.0 tiger thread, what size diamond awl blade should I use? Any help greatly appreciated.

Likely something larger than a dagger but smaller than a broadsword 😉. In all seriousness, probably the largest you can find as that's a huge stitch.

If one was to make just wallets and wanted to buy only 1 top quality awl (price not a factor has I am after the tool quality) which would you recommend... the Japan 6T or the one from Jerome David? I watched both of your videos and both awls look awesome although would really like the recommendation of a true leathercraft person.

Nothing compares to the Jerome David awl. It is made for professionals by someone who really understands the craft. Every part is custom made for the awl and you have no chance of the blade accidentally rotating.

Nice review. Also liked your stitching "tutorial". By the way, where did you get your stitching pony? It's really nice. :)

      Hello Lisa, many thanks.
The saddlers clams are from Abbey England and I finished them here in the workshop. We have a course on our website on how to finish these clams and wrap the jaws. The preview can be found in our course guide here: www.leathercraftmasterclass.com/course-guide

Is that awl of them? ;)
What would you recommend for going through 12mm of leather? Many thanks

I think it is! :D Blanchard still make awls and awl blades of a longer length, but as long as the blade protrudes around an inch, you should be fine.
