after watching your video and a french video I bought the Jerome David's titanium one from RM leather. snakewood handle. I liked the blade. I do occasionally leather works, but like good tools

I use 5mm pricking irons to make my stitch line and 1.0 tiger thread, what size diamond awl blade should I use? Any help greatly appreciated.
Likely something larger than a dagger but smaller than a broadsword 😉. In all seriousness, probably the largest you can find as that's a huge stitch.

If one was to make just wallets and wanted to buy only 1 top quality awl (price not a factor has I am after the tool quality) which would you recommend... the Japan 6T or the one from Jerome David? I watched both of your videos and both awls look awesome although would really like the recommendation of a true leathercraft person.
Nothing compares to the Jerome David awl. It is made for professionals by someone who really understands the craft. Every part is custom made for the awl and you have no chance of the blade accidentally rotating.

What would you recommend for going through 12mm of leather? Many thanks
I think it is! :D Blanchard still make awls and awl blades of a longer length, but as long as the blade protrudes around an inch, you should be fine.
