You forgot to mention not only the handel but you can put a guitar strap as well on both sides its like a Keytar style playing thats why I love this keyboard.. :)
@@kenlynnyrd I don't have either of them anymore but I can give you an opinion based on a few facts: The S400 has superior sounds, no doubt about it. However, the E463 has a great sampler, superb cutoff/resonance dials, and better beats. So with those facts in mind, here's my opinion: If you want to play lovely piano sounds, go for the S400. If you want to have lots of fun with a keyboard that can do a bit of everything, go for the E463 (my personal preference).
@@kenlynnyrd Despite the excellent AiX sound system on the CTS400, I'd still prefer the E463 for layering purely because of its sampler. I've had wonderful success - and lots of fun - layering the built-in tones with samples from high-end synths. If you get an E463, send me a message and I'll provide a link to the Gearfacts E463 sample collection.
We just got our son one of these for his upcoming Bday. He plays his Yamaha DGX-650 in his room, but taking an 88 key composition keyboard with you on the fly was a no go. Seems like Casio did good on this one. Fingers crossed
Hi Glynn nice vid as usual. Very useful tricks for the CT-S400. I think that all of them apply to the CT-X800, too, excepted for the Surround function and the ability to set different pitch-bend values for the layered sounds. A remark in passing: the pedal you’re referring to is a sustain pedal, not an expression pedal. P On most Casio arrangers, the sustain pedal can be used 1) to sustain the sound, obviously 2) to go from one rhythm section to the next 3) to hold the arpeggiator. The expression pedal, on the other hand, can be used 1) to change the volume while playing e.g. for organ sounds 2) to activate the modulation on some sounds. Unfortunately, it is not possible to use an expression pedal with the CT-S400.
An interesting thing to note.. Everyone talks about the 'handle' formed in the back of the unit... but in the manual (where it talks about attaching a strap) it mentions that 'The recessed area on the bottom of the Digital Keyboard IS NOT intended to be used as a handle." ... Other than it being a bit "shallow", making it easier to drop the unit, I don't really see why they would go to the trouble of explicitly saying to not use that area as a "handle"....
Hello, thank you very much , I just bought it, but I have a pedal problem: I did everything, put the pedal on "sostenuto" and switched off the U1 U2 and lower part, also in" TONE" but the sustain pedal does still not work after keys played , I have a small hand, and am used and need to use the pedal, what am I doing wrong please? thank you very much for your help
must have for young student who want to learn the basic... simple portable yet fully functional... i'm stick with my wk7600... casio's new line quite innovative since last decade product... must be thaf AIX sound chip...
Sounds nice, but where is the 5 pin din midi sockets for allowing us to use this as an actual midi recording keyboard? Not everyone wants to lug around a computer just to record midi from the keys or to the keys.. Maybe Im wrong or maybe Im old skool, but I love me some midi action baby!! grand :-P
just looked at my niece borrowed keys ...and ..sho"nuff ...it was a casio but a ctk 1550 ...but none the less .....its got me curious if it works on it too...how much are the ct s400 ? ....ta,

Casio didn't "steal" your handle idea, they merely permanently borrowed it! Using the pedal for rhythm fills is really cool.

Quite right! Another slip of the tongue by me, it was indeed a sustain pedal I was using, not an expression pedal :)

I think they say that to protect themselves legally in the even of accidental dropping/breaking the keyboard.
Gearfacts I like to hear more sounds on the casio ct s400
I wonder what drum / rhythm setting is at 1:58. I seem to be overlooking that. The sound quality here is great too (maybe using an equalizer).

You need to set the pedal to "Sustain". Sostenuto is different I think.
Can you do a video about the multi track recorder on this keyboard?
I don't think it is a multi-track recorder. Just seems to record what you feed it, but doesn't seem to allow multi-tracking.

Slightly. It's a great sound engine, very bright and professional, but the actual sounds are not that exciting. Yamaha still dominates the market.
When you split, it is possible to configure each part with the same notes? and can you balance the volume of each part? Thank you for the video.

I think you turn it on with the highest key pressed down. I might be wrong though, you might have to google it.

It's been along time since I had this keyboard, but yes I'm 90% certain that you can adjust the volumes of individual layers.
