My Dad lives in Canton and your videos were the only resource I had on how bad it was there, which had me more worried but at least I knew something. He got cell phone and power back yesterday. I was able to get ahold of a cousin of mine who did have service when I called and confirmed Monday he was ok. I was at Costco in Greensboro yesterday and there was a line to get water, toilet paper, paper towels out the door. Everyone buying to donate which just hit my heart. I think we all have a relationship with the mountains whether family or vacations and no one should be isolated or trapped. We need fellowship, to talk and listen. We need to be there for one another. Sorry for rambling, but thank you so much for your videos! God bless
Western Carolina and the Smokey Mountains are an American treasure that has been decimated and it so sad. We all feel like we have lost something we loved. Chimney Rock was one of my favorite places to visit and Maggie Valley. It hurts my heart for these people that have had their lives ripped away from them.
Thank you for all your videos. I live in Canton and have been through this with you, but with lost communication and ways to get out, I didn't know how bad it got in Bethel, where I grew up. Seeing the back side of the river just broke me up. But seeing it is far different than imagining it, because no one can imagine it. So again thank you!
Hi Bryan, thank you for getting your videos out. I had a house in Waynesville for 9 years. I live in Atlanta. I have so many friends there. I know all the roads you showed. My heart hurts so bad for you. To be honest, I could never have envisioned something like this in Haywood County. I remember when Lake Logan Road flooded one time and thought that was bad. But nothing like this. Everything you say you expected, or didn't expect, I would be right there with you. People in Waynesville don't prepare for this kind of devestation from a hurricane.
☎️Byan You are Truly Remarkable and Amazing Gent, Thank You for all of Your Video Updates on the Flood Damages. Brilliant Filming, Thank God You and Your Family is Safe. So Much Families is Now in Moaning for their Lost, May God Bring them Comfort throughout this difficult time. Its going to be some tough months ahead, God Bless 📌
Excellent video, Bryan. Thank you so much for documenting the flooding in WNC and also more information you included here. I lived in CLT for 15 yrs, now in OKC. If I knew how or what I could do to help, I would be there tomorrow. Keep us posted how things are going and let us know here what can be done as things progress. All the best to you and everyone there.
You guys came out better than others for this reason your family was able to bring attention to others whom can help! And your reports where excellent and got the attention it deserves! Because the lame main news is turning a blind eye to whats really going on and not really reporting on it at all !? At least you can draw attention to areas around you that need help! God bless you! Try not to feel guilty! Your helping others more than you are aware of !
@ask for Bryan hey brotha don’t know ya, but feel some kinship being in the auto industry, once owning a 5spd 4Runner, and one of my favorite things to do is take my M Roafster around the mtn on a Saturday morning lol.. I went to school in Montreat, I used to hangout in Asheville all the time. Thanks for sharing your story, although I donated what I could last week I just did a lil more while watching this video. You are making a difference, never feel guilty about that. Best to you and your family, you are appreciated. 💯 👍🏼🙏🏻
I think everyone needs to start realizing things are get worst as far as storms and we all need to start making a change and being more involved and being more a community and prepared for the worst always the damage ive seen os so sad and the amount of life that was lost are going to be bad and things are going to be hard for awhile and best u can do is just tey to help with what ever is possible and if u have platform try to help communicate to outsiders that the help people need keep your head up and just do your best to help if u can sometimes just being a human being today is rare seams like best wish to everyone and have safe travels
This is a good follow-up and humbling at the same time. The dry soil probably exasperated the run off essentially a nesr hydrophobic state that eater could be absorded right away during the peak downpours. I imagine you know of ham radio operators yhat have been able to mske contact to family and friends earlier this week to let ithers know theyre ok. Im listening on an online reciever in Knoxville on 7.232 during the day, the reports are as sad as you'd expect. Given the topography of the region and limited roads this is making any meaningful aid slow.
The first patent for weather modification was issued in 1891 and was for a method that involved shooting liquefied carbonic acid gas into the atmosphere: Patent number: 462,795
The section of road that was barely one lane and washed out was Cruso as well as some other clips with trees down. It was just grouped together with clips from E Canton.

Thank you for your videos. Locals are better than the national news. They know the areas. Be safe.

Thanks for the videos. My heart goes out to all the Bethel,Cruso, and surrounding communities.
Your posts are very informative and great catalog of roads and towns - from here in Florida it is important. Thanks!

It's beautiful but I couldn't live there. This was terrifying.
I had cell service going through Bethel from Canton for the last few days and now I don't.. What a mess!
🙏
I'd be very curious how Asheville will vote in the upcoming election - last year they overwhelmingly voted for Democrats
For some one that lives where you do your first video of the Strom you WERE NOT CLOSE TO CRUSO YOU WERE ON 1923 NOT EVEN CLOSE TO CRUSO
