  • Moulton 4 Speed, saved. Still needs work, and has two unfortunate dents, but I have given it lots of tlc to get it riding. Has both its racks and prop stand and it now has its Dover pump. Original Middlemore saddle was gone so it now sports an old Pryma.

I just restored a Norwegian produced Moulton from 1068. I have no squeak in the front. I only just tried riding it yesterday and the thing I liked least was the short handlebar length. I need to adjust saddle position & hight also.

I too have that squeeking sound in my front suspension. Have you considered, if you haven't already, taking the front suspension down to refurbish. Also, is that the original saddle (what make/model)? And finally, how do you like the "ride" of the bike? I am in the midst of putting my 1963 f frame together.

Hi, thanks for your message. I have sold the bike, to fund the ‘next project’. Looking back, regarding the suspension, I think it would have been an excellent thing to do to take it apart. I did end up having to do that on an APB, so now have a bit more knowledge on the matter. The saddle is a Pryma, French, I think, a replacement for the original Middlemore, which was decrepit. I do enjoy the ride. It ‘wafts’ you over the bumps. Good luck with your project, hope to see a pic once you finish it.

That's nice. It looks like an old M2 deluxe as I think that's the only one with the 4 speed SA gears. I've just started refurbishing one. Mine had sat in a garage for 30 years so the paint is in slightly better condition but still needs some work.

Even a beat-to-shite Moulton is a thing of beauty.

That’s not sad paint, it’s patina!

Yes, on second thought, you’re right.
