    I am pretty sure the home owners in and around the areas where you work are supper happy that there are reputable companies like yourself that goes through all the fine detail to deliver profesional service like we see here. Compared to the fly-by-nights who don't even blink when they con people out of the hard earned money. And what I like most of how you do your work is you go back even after 3 month to point out how the system now functions after rain. That I think is highly commandable.

      Or maybe a bottle jack anchored againist a stake in the ground pushing the drill slowly. Use a Y adapter for the head of the jack .
      And a drill mounted waterpump to suck out the cooling water from the trench

    • @swflutka
      @swflutka 2 года назад +1

      You could use a shop vac for the water instead of pulling the drill out every time to bail out the water, and maybe a high lift jack behind the drill and the other end against a post or the trencher

      Yes that's under the house at the handler. The line we caught was just the end of the drain line. There's still access under the house if it ever clogs. The tradeoff is having to climb under there.

    Nice work. Would have liked to have seen how you determined the appropriate slope away from the house towards the street

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  2 года назад

      Andrew there was no determining anything. The reason was we had a set point at the street and at the house. So we tried to stay high at the house and had to mind our fall all the way to the street. In cases like this you only have the fall you have and can't create any more. Great comment!

    Great video Shawn. Awesome job GCF!
    If you pre-drill a 3/4" or bigger hole on the lower spot where you are coring, a lot of the water inside the curb will be alleviated.
    Face your core drill trigger up and use a tile spade as a lever (of course not too much) to put pressure on your drill. Helps to keep the operator dry-er-ish.
    You know what I mean. Core drilling and sawing concrete are never "clean" jobs

This is important on many levels, and keeps the customer confident on your knowledge of what is needed on the job, leaving the customer calm and proud of your Technical skills. I only point this out to your new members who don't know what to expect, when a project is in it's operation. Nice digger cam! I love watching people working and how it is done, it looks like a great team you have. With the core drill could you put a plank under it so it can rest and slide on it, then put a stake in behind it to the get leverage then maybe use something like a bottle jack to apply the pressure. I'm sure you could make up some sort of jig to make it work.

    I would like to add that local road agencies may not like those locally maintained curbs being cut or cored. Flowing water onto the road can cause icing and accelerating deterioration of the pavement surface. Since every place is different, it should be said that folks watching should always follow their local ordinances before cutting or digging close to the road. I do want to commend the post work inspection in the rain. Nothing beats actual rain to verify a good job. Great video overall.

    • @GCFD
      @GCFD  2 года назад

      Great points Jessee. The city here doesn't mind tying into the street because they are part of the storm water management system. We don't get much ice in this part of NC.

    • @castarmax1970

      @@GCFD The city actually says otherwise...
      "No person, firm, or corporation shall remove, alter or construct any
      driveway, curb, gutter or pavement, or perform any other
      improvement on any public street or dedicated street right-of-way
      without permits authorizing such improvements."
      They also say.
      "Whenever any person shall do or undertake to do any of the things
      set forth in this Manual, it shall be the responsibility of such person to
      protect from harm and damage all persons who may be using any
      street or sidewalk or other public place where such activity is in
      progress; and to that end such person shall erect and maintain
      suitable signs, lights, barricades and other traffic control devices at
      the proper location where such work is in progress. These safeguards
      shall be applied in accordance with the current Work Area Traffic
      Control Handbook (WATCH) available from the Greensboro
      Department of Transportation. "
      Not to mention you can't put condensate drains to walkways.
      Almost no PPE even when cutting the sidewalk or using the sledgehammer.
      That 4" pipe in your area is good for 2600sq ft of roof. No idea how big the house is but I'm guessing it's under that.
      I have tore out many gutters, curbs and sidewalks that was altered/poured by a contractor or hack without being bonded or without permits.
      I guess you made a few bucks so the rules don't apply to you. You may think otherwise if you get sued because a kid slipped on the algae from the condensate drain or the curb now breaks because it's weakened.
