There is nothing dubbed in this live version other than the piano part, which is a backing track. Guitars, drums, bass and the girls voice is all recorded from the live sound. This is how the sound was in the concert. I was there, and it felt even more epic than this.

This was 100% live audio, it just sounded that good. This was the last song of their five song set, so they wouldn't have been able to do any more since they were only allotted a 30 minute window to play that day. At the time of this show they were mostly unknown outside of Japan, and this was their first festival outside of Asia. They were originall slated to play some small side stage (tent), but there was a lot of buzz around them so they were moved to a bigger stage, in front of 65,000 British metalheads who were somewhat skeptical of this Japanese "gimmick" band being at their beloved metal festival. Needless to say, after just five songs, they were begging for more.
Another fun little fact about that day, Babymetal sold more merch than any other band there, which included Metallica and Iron Maiden. It was truly their introduction to the western world, although they had a couple small shows in Europe before this festival, this really showed the world at large that Babymetal wasn't some gimmick, but an actual force in the metal world.

This is live. You can actually hear Su’s voice waiver a bit here and there and even a few places hear her managing her breath for both vocals and dancing. She has an amazingly strong and accurate singing voice....she is a true vocal athlete too. I really like her live singing, it is so good.

First of all, the reason I went to this festival was on the recommendation of Metallica, who saw Baby Metal on stage at Summersonic 2013.
The original plan was not to be the main event, but a tent stage with a few thousand people.
However, when it was announced that Baby Metal was going to perform, the official festival FB went up in flames. The comment section was flooded with unspoken slander and bashing, with some even calling for people to throw plastic bottles of urine into the air.
Seeing the magnitude of the response, the festival suddenly changed the venue to the main stage.
For a band with little or no experience overseas at the time, they were faced with an unbelievable ordeal: being thrown out in front of 60,000 metallers on their debut.
The producer looks back on that time, "It was a bit of a gamble", and there's also an episode that the local promoters encouraged them to perform at the festival, saying "We'll make it, we'll make it, we can bet on it".
And on the day of the concert, when it was time for Babymetal, the main stage was filled with a huge crowd (about 60,000 people) as the promoter had expected, but most of them were said to be curious or anti-haters. The producer later said that it was the first time in his life that he had been shocked.
Finally, the live performance starts. At first the audience didn't know what to expect, but as the show went on, they got more excited, and after "Megitsune", the audience started to chorus for encore. The last song was "Ijime, No, Zettai", BABYMETAL's major label debut single and an anthem for Babymetal at that time.
Babymetal gave their best performance in this first run, and the live was closed with great applause.
In a later report, they went so far as to say "the biggest achievement of this year is that we invited Babymetal".
I think the three of them, who were 15 or 16 years old at the time, were scared, and I think they were prepared for it. They really did a good job.
This concert, which sparked the overseas expansion of the band, was called "Sonisphere's Miracle" by fans, and it was a major turning point for Babimeta.

This was a legendary moment in BABYMETAL history! Imagine being like 14-16 years old and getting bumped up from a small side tent (expecting just 1-2 thousand to show up) to the main stage in front of 65,000+ metalheads BUT 95+% of them never heard of you, some came to hate on you (based on their videos up to this point like "Gimme Chocolate" which had gone viral a few months before and thought they were a joke or gimmick), and these people are known to throw bottles at the acts if they don't like them! But by the end of their 30-ish minute set, the crowd is chanting "We want more! We want more!" as you can hear at the end of this video, since this is the closing song. They had the largest pits and wall of death's, as well as sold the most merch out of all the acts performing at that event (Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc). This show was the start of them blowing up outside of Japan and is considered a major moment in BABYMETAL history. This is why this show is my favorite of all their shows! Don't wait so long to do another BABYMETAL reaction! 🦊🤘

    I stayed alone.
    Those who hurt me were
    not only someone else,
but also those who pretended not to notice.
    It was my friend.

When I discovered BabyMetal (3.5yrs ago?), it took 90 mins of rabbit holing to convince myself they were legit, this one sealed it.
The One is studio audio MV. This one I think is actually live. It’s tough to tell; it’s masterfully mastered. Maybe they had all original channels recorded to remix? It might even be touched up, auto tuned sparingly? But there are definite non-auto tuned sections (I’ve “studied it” monthly), and the solos match the fancams, etc
After the track sold me, I learned the epic backstory. In short, they weren’t wanted, were opening the show at noon. But the sound check attracted 50-60000 hungover people from their tents, they were terrified, and started with tech troubles, only got 5 song slot. This 5th song is anti bullying; there was Su’s prerecorded English PSA that bullying wasn’t cool (how metal to be so straightedge?!). But it obv worked, look at her joy on the last “we are BabyMetal”! They’re calling we want more too, like 8hrs before maiden or Metallica, whoever... 16,15&15yrs old, conquered the metal homeland with one stroke, first British show.
18 months before this, she was still in the idol group, BabyMetal subgroup had about 4singles, this had been a hit. She went to radio station to promote next single (Megitsune. At 15, unaccompanied). They told her that other idols called her the nobullying girl; she owned it, without saying “yeah, but they know who I am”
This was the most stable lineup. Short guy “little Kami(god)” Mikio Fujioka, stage right screen left, died Jan 2018. Seriously one of the best in the world. The other guy’s teacher. Did Alan Holdsworth tributes, Adrian Belew covers, and metal up your ass. Best Jeff beck tones(&whammy usage) as he covered vocal lines of Beatles, on n on, whatever
I’m gonna put a sub comment with some links. I’m thinking the Megitsune interview, their first ever interview, Kami band instrumental, & beyond?...
    Cheers
    - a fan

The guitarist on the left (from the crowd perspective) was the one that passed away, his name was Mikio. He was an incredible player and kind of the unofficial captain of the kamis so to speak from what I can tell (thats nothing official in any way). The other guitarist in this video is Leda. There is a third guitarist named Takayoshi Ohmura who you have seen in other videos as well. There have actually been several other guitarists that have appeared at times but the trio of Miko, Leda, and Ohmura are/were the core guitarists that played pretty much every major arena show during Babymetals key years as they become internationally popular. So the 4 guys in this video plus Ohmura despite not being the only kamis are as close to the official band as it gets without it actually being the case.

Nice Reaction!! I may not be able to explain it well in English, but I'll try to write about Sonisphere.
The BM was originally scheduled to perform at the sub-stage(few Thousands of audience), but due to many requests, it was moved to the main stage in a hurry.
Audience of main stage estimates range from 55,000 to 60,000. Most of the crowd had only heard BM's name to some extent and the actual fans were only a few hundred in front of the stage. I think it was a battle itself for the teenage girls, as this is a big, full-blown metal festival overseas, and if they don't like it, a lot of plastic bottles are thrown to stage.
Here's what SUMETAL has to say about this Sonisphere festival.
    ------
Maybe it was because I was trying to look at the audience at an angle, but there were no people in the audience at all, and I was talking like, "What am I going to do?". But that was just because I couldn't see the audience from the angle, and when I went out on stage, the audience was there. "There are people here!" And then it got interesting.
The audience in front of me had their jaws dropped to the floor in plain sight. They're like, "What? What? What???" they looked like. I saw that and said, "Okay, let's do it!" I thought.
I think this festival has given us the confidence to tour abroad.
We believe that our music is one-of-a-kind, and because it's one-of-a-kind, it can bring the world together.
    ------
With each song, the crowd's cheering circle grew wider and wider. If you look at the crowd's reaction after the song was over, you can feel their Kawaii METAL that makes you smile and feel happy and brings the world together!
I'm sure you all will comment on the content of the song, so I'll just say a few things. This song is a message song for those who is bullying someone and People being bullied.
This is the dialogue section in the middle.
    いたみ(itami) = pain
    感じて(kanjite) = aching
    ずっと(zutto) = all whe whileg
    ひとり(hitori) = alone
    心(kokoro) = heart
気づかない(kizukanai) = pretending not to notice
    もう(mou) = anymore
    逃げない(nigenai) = I'll never get away
    いじめ(ijime) = bullying
    だめ(dame) = no
    絶対(zettai) = absolutely
I hope you continue to enjoy your BABYMETAL.

Also, don't worry. Kami band receive the love they deserve even if they are often in the back. If you want to hear more of the "core" Kami band members, which included Mikio Fujioka who passed away, react to"Gathering of the Metal Warriors"

Ijime Dame Zettai (phonetically E-jame Damay Zet-tie-e) loosely translated, "No Bullying Forever"
This concert is LEGENDARY among Babymetal fans. They were scheduled to play a smaller side stage for a 5-6K audience but got moved to the main stage in front of 40+K. Keep in mind audiences at this venue threw bottle of piss at Guns And Roses because the audience thought they were rubbish. This was Babymetal's first BIG show outside of Japan. The girls were (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) 14 and 15 if I remember correctly. The Kami band came out first and did a warm up and got the crowd interested. The girls were understandably nervous and there were some issues with the ear pieces and a skirt got torn, but by the end of their set, which this song was the last, you can hear the crowd chanting "We want more, We want more". The venders could not keep Babymetal swag in stock for the rest of the festival.

Also, at this concert/festival Babymetal was scheduled on a smaller side stage but, for some reason was put on the main stage. And like another reactor said, "who in heck would try to follow this!!".😅😅 Thanks y'all and keep rockin'.

Their songs just switch to whatever they wanted and still kicking ass, just like you guys switching name and only few of us noticed it 😂😂😂
This song i recommended long time ago, glad you finally did it, and that was how BabyMetal slayed the festival stage of UK and worldwide known, 50,000-60, 000 metalheads that didn't even know who or what BabyMetal before and that was the last song, they even asking for more at the end of it.
    Next i recommend
SYNCOPATION live, be prepared to be blown away once again by the guitars, you guys won't regret it, trust me

Coincidentally they released a live album two weeks ago and listening to that version of IDZ shows how much Su has grown through the years.

Look closely at Su, she knows they have conquered the crowd. The audience came to see hairy men screaming at them with a loud band of so-so musicians. Instead they got an extraordinary band of musicians fronted by 3 teenage girls who not only really sing, but OMG they dance! Those metal-heads never had chance.
Clarification, Kobametal is the creator and producer of Babymetal, but there a number top songwriters responsible for the songs. Also He was asked about Su and Moa, he said "They are grownups, they make their own decisions." So much for the robot thing.
This was their international breakout, the music press in Europe blew up. As did the Japanese music press.

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🚫
Guitarists that day were Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus.
BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
That was a festival set, so no encore.
Encores are pretty unusual for BABYMETAL, even with headlining shows.
Su's vocals are that clean, even live.
Any change from the live performance to the recording is a big deal, and gets attention in the various BABYMETAL forums.

  • @lovefrompraha
    @lovefrompraha 4 года назад +4

Like others said, definitely not dubbed. Clear difference from other performances. But I can see why you might think so, they're known to be extremely consistent across live shows, studio, different venues, etc. They apparently do like cardio singing workouts to be able to train them to hit certain shit, do stuff in specific ways, perform while dancing, etc. Also this song is about stopping bullying forever. Their albums are normally full of positive messages. Lastly, they never do encores. The crowd did ask after they walked off, it's just part of their lore. Also Mikio Fujioka died. He was the one smiling a lot on the viewer's left side of the stage. Guy was such a god

    • @rickwagner-
      @rickwagner- 4 года назад +3

Encores are unusual, but they do happen.
I was at the Palladium Hollywood when they came back on stage for 'From Dusk Till Dawn' and 'Road of Resistance', and at the LA Forum where they did 'Shine' and 'Arkadia' as encores.
They are rare enough that a lot of people missed those last two songs at the LA Forum, since they weren't expecting them to come back on stage.

Ijime,Dame,Zettai . Yeah, this song is my favorite song from BABYMETAL . The message is so good . Ask for no more bullying . Ijime,Dame,Ijime,Dame (Bullying, Don't, Bullying, Don't) . And the part of guitar solo is so catchy, when Yui and Moa start fight 😅 . Maybe, you can hear another live from this song . Live at Legend 1997 is great too, with dark vide and sound more good . But, the most great live from this song was from Tokyo Dome (my opinion) . Thanks for reacting this song and BABYMETAL . Kitsune Up 🤘🦊

Hi. Sorry for my English. BabyMetal is a whole. They are the girls who are wonderful, they are the KamiBand, who are incredible, it is the lighting engineer (who amazed KobeMetal during a concert that he went to see and brought it to the band), the choreographer who does not make the same for any song and they are all memorable, etc. As we say they are "the one" and it works as the Fox God wishes.

For the more Babymetal's traditional/structured/raw take on metal:
    - MEGITSUNE
    - HEADBANGER
    - SIS ANGER
For the more eksperimental take on metal:
    - CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
    - SHANTI SHANTI
    - DOKI DOKI MORNING
Just a few that came at the top of my head.
Yeah, they tend to push boundaries, break genres, and refuse to be confined in a box, therefore the eksperimental ones are aplenty, which makes them... different from different ahahaha
