You have the only video that simply shows what to do. Thank you. I was trying to pull the throttle before reassembly and I didn't see it move . I said this ain't gonna work, screwed it together and it worked! Thank man lol
Because of your video, I got my nephews pw50 running today. Thank you so much. I got a lot of "the good uncle" points today. (The bike was running at full throttle due to the cable not sitting right in the carb. as described in your video.)
Thank you for your kind words.= In my Playlists , I have very Recently Catalogued all my videos on this Subject- Check them out !! thank you.... All Free!!!
Thanks my guy...after you used those hemos I said darn, I don't have any and I pulled it off bare fingered(while fish fingered) and I got it! I gotta get some hemostats.......thanks again. My first puk carb install!!
thank you ma'am your video actually help to me was a really complicated part of my engine if I would have left it the way that it was it would have been in Full Throttle when I kick started the brand new engine this taught me how to properly insert it because mine was a round piece
hey man thanks for this tutorial, i got my aprilia rs125 yesterday and the throttle snapped, off to the store right now to get a replacement throttle and to install a new one today!
Thank you. I have over 3000 bike videos or bike helping videos. Please check my Playlists. They are all helpful and all Free. Thanks for the kind words. RH
I enjoy very much your instructional video, I will like to know if you have one video on how to replace the throttle Cale on a VTX1800R. My Calble is not creating tension at the Throttle Handle and appear to either be loose or broken. Thank You.
Vin Diesel has actually the most perfect voice for doing commentarys , like on these videos. No one ever said I sounded like him before and that is a great compliment to me. A lot of people comment that I sound like Jeff Bridges, another great actor. I would love to sound like Vin in all my videos. Glad to have helped and I have hundreds of more help videos on all phases of scooter problems. Randy H DSD
Thanks man I just got a 2001 cr 125 and wanted to check my needle position but could figure out how to disconnect the throstle cable and your video helped
Hey DIOSpeedDemon ,, u sure helped me alot this time man own u big time!!!!!! thanks man fixed my dirtbike (susuki rm) thanks to you!!! please bro keep it up!
YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE ASKED ME TO DO THAT. I live in an area with very few mopeds and fell into this moped building and video making, completely by accident, with no prior training. A lucky accident, if you will. I do a little work for select women, as they have no idea how the bikes work. Maybe I will open a shop one day. Thanks.
I bought a mojave 250 and had a bad keihin cvk34 carb so i just bought a new oko 34mm and was in shock because i didnt see a throttle linkage you know, um trigger, but this vid makes it look simple. I will try tomorrow because the stock throttle cable doesnt fit through, the lead weight at the tip of the cable is too big. Ill look for a universal cable and hope that works before i return the oko. Thanks for the detailed instructions
I tell you what I said to myself how the heck do you get this throttle cable in here I was fafitting in with it and fiddling with it so I said RUclips. How do you get a throttle cable in A PWK Carburetor...... And then I meet you in the right moment. The right time I swear you were live...like it was meant for me and I don't know. It was awesome thanks for. Explaining is so detailed like you. Did, man, you're awesome. Talk text put to bunch of comments and dots where don't belong, talk text and take a lesson off you.
I just want to Help and the Advice is Free, You cannot beat that price. I really need to make more videos as it warms up and racing season starts here. My bike is not running and I am Depressed. I wish I had more Racing Bike enthusiasts around where I live. Thanks for the Kind Words, RH DSD
Paint one, no. What I would like to do as a challenge, is to take the bare carb body and polish it like a jewel to see if I could do it with all the curves and deep divots and what a challenge! I have many more videos on my Recently Updated Channel Playlists, check em out! Thank you. DSD
If you leave that spring in there kinded off to the side you won't have all the pull on the throttle cable as the spring will bunch up as it pushes out to the side instead of compressing. You need to hold the slide all the way up as you put the top on to make sure the spring compresses straight that way when assembled and you turn the throttle the slide will travel all the way to the top of the carb instead of binding on the spring with it pushed off to the side like it did when you let the slide sit in the bottom of the carb while mashing the top on.
my friend has a mini moto and the throttle cabble goes into a plastic holder where yourse in the video is metal but were the needle is the needle is free to be ushed up on its own without the cable pulling it up in the carb i dont think that would matter becouse doubt it wuld get pushed up by the fuel without it been operated by the cable but im not too sure
Thank you.. my 2008 KTM 85 shit itself this morning and my throttle randomly got stuck.. I shut it off, rolled it to the garage and I unscrewed the gold part off the top of my carb and the cable was fucking shredded🤣 probably the same stock one from 2008
Glad to have helped. I have over 3000 other videos on all aspects of the little bikes, check my playlists. I know that is alot of vids, but i have been making them since RUclips started in 2006. Thanks for the kind words, Randy H , DSD
Great carb vids, helpful as a first timer tearing down a KTM 380 EXC. But I have a problem... the carb is not like the one in the video! :O There's not cutout on the side of the slide, the cable just drops straight into the slide and I can't see how to get it out. Anyway... I'm sure I'll figure it out... I just wish that mine was as simple as the one you've got in the video.
Hi, I have a question on the Carb that has the trumpet air filter .... Does that trumpet comes with foam filter inside ? If it doesn't , how does that prevent the water and all the dirt on the road goes into the the carb ?
Thanks for the video. You were telling why you can adjust the wire 3 places but then you stop and do something else. What is the reason you can adjust 3 places ?
The carb is a flat-side "D" valve carby. THey are more efficient than a round slide at air velocity. I have dozens or even hundreds of other carb how-to videos on my playlists, check them out and thanks for watching.
What bike do you use it on? I have a skyteam 125 sm... 38mm air intake carb. I've just installed a new carb thanks to your video :) with new jets ... got a bit more horsepower now. Nice
Can you point me in the right direction for what hoses hook up to what? I have almost the exact same carb on my snow mobile and i'm having a heck of a time finding a manual.
This video was made 9 years ago. I have over 3000 videos on my channel that deal with scooter moped problems and add ons and PERFORMANCE. Thanks for watching, RH DSD
I have problems find out witch carb I have on my 125ke 1978 Kawasaki and also could take the throttle cable a choke cable to get the dam thing out and I dont wanna mess it up
Quick question. I have a 2003 kx 125 that I recently purchased a Keihin pwk 38mm carb for but not sure how to hook up the factory throttle cable any tips?
I have a problem with my KTM 250 2T The tool has not been used for almost a year This week I found time to take care of it, I did a fuel-oil change, I cleaned the filter plug, everything, finally I tried to start it, but the car could not start. It only started with carburetor spray and shut off straight away From that I understood that the carburetor needed to be cleaned and that's how I did it. Now the problem is different, the motorcycle drives straight up to very, very high turns I played with the air-fuel screw but unfortunately it didn't help. Is there a situation where the problem is different? Something in the carburetor maybe? need help pleases tool,
I’m installing this carb on my 171cc go kart and the cables are too short so a rod system has to be used. I spoke with Barnett Cables and they will make a long one for me. So you remember where you got that cable and how long it was? Thanks
How do I take the cap thing off of the throttle needle to put a new one on? My carb looks a bit different than the one you’re showing, it’s a screw on cap thing to the carb. (I’m dumb so forgive me lol)
I have a 96 rm 125 and when I go to put it back in it looses tension. When I have it all connected and turn the throttle the throttle will turn just about a quarter of a turn but my carb will open all the way
What happens when you can't move the white plastic piece attached to the spring? I mean at all. It might as well be welded inside the valve. You hinted at how frustrating this could be. I haven't been this pissed in years. I mean truly angry. I'm tempted to cut the cable and spring. Any ideas?
Thanks DIOSpeedDemon, I have the same carb on a 2007 KTM 85 dirtbike. Somehow the throttle cable keeps popping off. It's easy to reinstall without taking the carb off, as you show, but it only lasts about 5 minutes of riding, if we're lucky. To me, that means the plastic cover is sliding up when there is slack on the cable. I think that can only happen if the needle is not going into the jet. Any ideas what is going on here? I notice the needle has a plastic coating need the top and it can "catch", i.e. it doesn't slide smoothly up and down the jet. Can you help??
Hi buddy I’ve got a Yamaha neos 50 stock I have a 70 race version too my issue with my stock bike is my throttle won’t spring back it won’t open it won’t shut if I undo it off the bars and slide it out abit it actually works a little bit but not much any suggestions I have now is it’s shutting and opening the slide but it’s a very short action like quick action I’m thinking the domino throttle on it is a quick action but it’s very tight? Any ideas I’ll appreciate my 70 throttle doesn’t fit as I have a bar conversion and it’s a aerox style with the hand switches on it but the stock is just the throttle housing?
I would suggest you break down the throttle housing on the right grip and take the pieces and clean them real good . Take WD-40 and start at one end of the throttle cable, and use the oil to clean the cable really good. Rebuild the carb by unscrewing the top, removing the slide and needle valve. Take the carb off the bike and take it apart, use a video cam or phone pictures to take pictures on how the carb was taken apart piece by piece to put it back together right. Clean the main jet and the idle jet with a very fine thin wire, electric guitar wire is best. Clean out all gunk in the bottom of the carb and get some carb cleaner with the long red hose and blow out all the little holes and orifices in the carb. Better yet, take the carb apart and clean it and let it sit in a pail of gasoline or petrol over night. It is real easy to do and after you have done this once, you will be able to clean bike carbs upside down with one hand. Note- when using the carb cleaner with the jet hose, ALWAYS WEAR GLASSES. cleaning out carb orifices has a nasty way of shooting the carb cleaner directly back at you and in your eyes. Been there/done that. Benzine burns when it gets on the skin. Clean everything up, re lube the carb cable and Throttle assembly on your handle bars and put it all back together. IF your carb cable is damaged, a new one can be had for like 10$ anywhere. hope it helps, RH DSD KING DIO.
I was wondering how the hell to deal with that plastic little piece of shit thanks for the video now I need to disconnect my throttle off of my handlebars so I have enough slack to push the wire through that plastic piece and get it into the metal half of the throttle inside the carburetor
I have a bmw r26 with a bing carburator installed and the carb leaks gasoline and doesnt get the air properly, what i wonder is repairing, fixing a carburator is always possible or sometimes carbs dies?
Once I put my carb back together my bike revs all the way out when I start it, how to I adjust it? I swear the cables are adjusted to the right tension and the gate type thing in the carb closes all the way.
Bro get to the point already bro it's hot af ,out here not to mention most people doing the flow valve through the top won't have near that much slack on their cable because that is still hooked up to the throttle which is the word you were looking for at the end of the first part video yeah so could you hopefully show us how to install it back into the throttle position properly thank you
Hey I have the same carburator, what throttle cable do I get that fits that carburator and what throttle casing goes with it so that my Kx 100 is stout once again? Thank you Boston in it💪
im going from a standard scooter (gilera runner 125sp) carb to a 28mm del'orto....if i swap it...i will have a few pipes, cables etc going spare....kinda worried about fiddling round with it.......
need your help! the screw pictured on top (side) of the carb that is going out at an angle near the place where the fuel goes in, what is that and how do i return it to the "factory" setting? i have the same exact carb but it was disassembled and after swapping the oem carb to that one i haven't been able to get the bike to run ) or even idle) correctly. i've been bothering all the local shops and searching the internet far and wide. but it's hard to find information when you don't know what the thing you're looking for is called.
If the screw is large and has a spring on it, it is the carb slide adjustment height. It basically controls the Idle. The higher the slide in the carb, the more air and gas go thru, the idle goes up. Unscrew the screw and take it out. take the top off the carb and pull the slide out. Screw the screw in until it is barely in the slide housing and you are at factory settings.
You sir are a mastermind. ' Don't tell your friends ' . Classic!!
Thank you for the Kind Words, Randy H, DSD
You have the only video that simply shows what to do. Thank you. I was trying to pull the throttle before reassembly and I didn't see it move . I said this ain't gonna work, screwed it together and it worked! Thank man lol

Because of your video, I got my nephews pw50 running today. Thank you so much. I got a lot of "the good uncle" points today. (The bike was running at full throttle due to the cable not sitting right in the carb. as described in your video.)

great video, the commentary had me rollin, lmao.
thanks for the explanation real good explanation. the carb that you are using in this video its a flatslide carb?

great way to shred your throttle cable, ty
my friend has a mini moto and the throttle cabble goes into a plastic holder where yourse in the video is metal but were the needle is the needle is free to be ushed up on its own without the cable pulling it up in the carb i dont think that would matter becouse doubt it wuld get pushed up by the fuel without it been operated by the cable but im not too sure

Thank you.. my 2008 KTM 85 shit itself this morning and my throttle randomly got stuck.. I shut it off, rolled it to the garage and I unscrewed the gold part off the top of my carb and the cable was fucking shredded🤣 probably the same stock one from 2008
A replacement cable is on the way… I will be using your video to help me install it. Does the carburetor have to come off the bike?

Can I use those throttle cables on my keeway hurricane ? It has the minarelli horizontal(1e40qmb) another great vid. 1:43 you got great humor 🙂
Nice vid. Thanks for the help!
Great carb vids, helpful as a first timer tearing down a KTM 380 EXC.
But I have a problem... the carb is not like the one in the video! :O
There's not cutout on the side of the slide, the cable just drops straight into the slide and I can't see how to get it out.
This helped me loads, thanks alot man.
Thanks for the video. You were telling why you can adjust the wire 3 places but then you stop and do something else. What is the reason you can adjust 3 places ?
There is an adjustment at the throttle grip, half way down the cable and at the Carb slide position. All cables have the same configuration.
Nice video. Im planning on swapping the stock carb(mikuni) to a keihin pwk airstryker on my 07 cr250r.
Keihin are great carbs, just beware that some carbs have reversed knobs that my be on the inside closest to the tire and hard to adjust.
you are awesome man love your video
Thanks man I almost lost my shit doing this. I gave a like also
Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to me. I also have over 3000 other videos with helpful bike info in them. Thanks again. RandyH DSD

Great video! Thanks! What Keihin carb is that btw? My bike has a Keihin ptg 7...
Dimitri Van Dijck It is a Keihin/ Sudco pwk 28mm racing carb and it cost me a few Ducats but damn well worth it. I really like it.
What bike do you use it on?

Daryl Wright I don't no anything about snow biles.
I am curious if you can put a copper fuel line on these small Dirt Bikes. Just for a mod and something different.
Great vid, I wanna see more.

I was wondering how the hell to deal with that plastic little piece of shit thanks for the video now I need to disconnect my throttle off of my handlebars so I have enough slack to push the wire through that plastic piece and get it into the metal half of the throttle inside the carburetor
Would you happen to have the dimensions on those top 2 screws for Mikuni, I have one stripped needs replacement..and thanks for the clamp tip! (:
Take your screws to a home depot and use their screw gauge to determine the length and thread no.
DIOSpeedDemon sure will do thanks.
If your "friend" is going to sue you, they are probably not worth helping out.
Bro get to the point already bro it's hot af ,out here not to mention most people doing the flow valve through the top won't have near that much slack on their cable because that is still hooked up to the throttle which is the word you were looking for at the end of the first part video yeah so could you hopefully show us how to install it back into the throttle position properly thank you
Great video! Thanks
Hey I have the same carburator, what throttle cable do I get that fits that carburator and what throttle casing goes with it so that my Kx 100 is stout once again? Thank you Boston in it💪
Generally all throttle cables are generic and the same. Throttle housings are different.
im going from a standard scooter (gilera runner 125sp) carb to a 28mm del'orto....if i swap it...i will have a few pipes, cables etc going spare....kinda worried about fiddling round with it.......
need your help! the screw pictured on top (side) of the carb that is going out at an angle near the place where the fuel goes in, what is that and how do i return it to the "factory" setting? i have the same exact carb but it was disassembled and after swapping the oem carb to that one i haven't been able to get the bike to run ) or even idle) correctly. i've been bothering all the local shops and searching the internet far and wide. but it's hard to find information when you don't know what the thing you're looking for is called.
If the screw is large and has a spring on it, it is the carb slide adjustment height. It basically controls the Idle. The higher the slide in the carb, the more air and gas go thru, the idle goes up. Unscrew the screw and take it out. take the top off the carb and pull the slide out. Screw the screw in until it is barely in the slide housing and you are at factory settings.
appreciate it
HARD TO REMEMBER "FORCEPS" WHEN YA BEEN CALLING THEM "ROACH CLIPS" FOREVER WHEN THE CAMERA ISN'T ON...
