I'm glad he's calling this behaviour out now, but it should have been said much, much sooner. The practice of giving important positions of authority to whoever claps the loudest, regardless of their actual suitability for the role, has been going on for far too long. Cabinet positions have become nothing more than a reward for the MP's mates. More needs to be done to clamp down on this sort of behaviour.

@@Darrenrulestheworld I've provided percentages which you can dispute; instead you've used abusive labels. People such as yourself are part of the problem in making people too afraid to address the obvious elephant in the room here.
For example: it might be that Conservative party policy is to encourage BAME Conservative MPs to put themselves forward for positions they're not qualified for to appeal to the 12% British BAME vote. It could also be down to Conservative officials pretending that race and ethnicity doesn't matter in people's lives, that ethnic privilege doesn't exist, when it does through out the world etc. So BAME MPs are being used to show this, even if OTT. I agree that the Conservative party in its current form is a shambles, and the 25% BAME representation within the cabinet relative to their 5% representation within the whole Conservative party reflects this IMO; but I didn't say it's only down to some BAME people when there could be all sorts of other reasons behind it.
