For BFMV It’s because most of their newer stuff doesn’t hold up to any of their earlier material in a lot of people’s opinions. Their first 3 albums and their Hand Of Blood EP are absolute metalcore gold. Also Architects only recently started getting bigger, they weren’t always as popular as they have been in the past 4 or so years.
BFMV are one of the pioneers of modern metal. Killswitch Engage As I Lay Dying BFMV Trivium Avenged Sevenfold Those are the 5 biggest titans of metalcore. They spawned the nwxt wave of metalcore. Of Mice & Men BMTH Asking Alexandria A Day to Remember etc.

I love em both and each of em has their place. in the end it might be depending on your point of view whom you gonna prefer mostlikely the one of which you heard first.

For every a7x (before they became prog metal, dont get me wrong i think stage is their best album but they aint core anymore) or august burns red or whatever, you have countless asking alexandrias and garbage like that. Makes finding new music a pain in the ass, shuffling through infinite bad bands to find 1 good band, which is why core has such a bad reputation as a genre. Unfortunately we’ll never be able to separate the good from the bad completely
