    I havent used QB since I graduated from business school in 2005. My husband started a business and I am the new accountant. I knew I wanted to use QB but was terrified that I wouldnt remember any of it. Which I didn't. So I went searching on RUclips and found your video. It has been a lifesaver! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge for free. You are a great teacher. You'll never know how much it helped me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Mr. Garcia, I just discovered you on YT. I dropped out of the accounting field years ago and it will always be a major regret. I just began the process of re-learning and I will say you are the BEST instructor I have found on RUclips. I hope you are still making videos because this one video you created 'Intro to QB Desktop' should be the gold standard for all others to follow. I don't know if I can afford your courses but I will look into it in the mean time...I will absorb all the free stuff you got to offer! Thank you.

    I graduated with my degree in February of 2021. It took me a year to find a job that matched my career path, even a little. Now, I am dropped into bookkeeping and I had completely forgot how to work QB and the fact that there are two different types (WHY?). This video has helped so much that I am going to watch all of your videos. Thank you so much!

I have started up two businesses and I wish that I had had the time and the where-with-all to look up videos to teach me about using Quickbooks when I had started my businesses. BUT, I am so glad that I found Hector Garcia! This course is AMAZING! He is so knowledgeable and explains things so well. I only wish that I had him for my accountant. I took a short community college 3 hour course, but it was several years before Covid hit. At least if I can spend a few hours in your course before the interview, so I wil appear knowledgeable and confident in using Quick books. The office manager said they mainly use quick books for creating invoices and sale receipts.

    Hola Hector, tengo una pregunta y es que tengo un pequeño restaurant y estoy tratando de introducir los recibos de compras diarios en quick book para que al fin de mes mi contador revise etc... por mientras yo voy viendo los datos etc... la pregunta es como hago para separar una factura con varios items, por ejemplo compro productos que son: carne, frijoles, pero tambien compro productos para limpieza en un mismo mercado; cuando pago, recibo una sola factura por toda la compra, entonces como se supone que hago la ingesta de esta informacion en el quick book?, tengo un scaner que he estado usando para guardar todos los recibos escaneados, pero como te comentaba solo me da el monto total del recibo, la fecha y los datos de la forma de pago, pero no me desglosa los productos, entonces como se supone que se hace este trabajo actualmente en la parte contable, hay que introducir los datos manualmente? y luego si los introduzco manual como asiento ( cada cargo que entra por separado contra un recibo que tiene un monto total resumido)... de antemanos un saludo y espero puedas ayudarme con esta pregunta.

    • @HectorGarciaCPA
      @HectorGarciaCPA  11 месяцев назад

      Es muy difícil contestar esa pregunta. Hay que mirar que información existe y como está organizada para determinar la mejor forma de ingresarlo.
      La mayoría de las veces es un proceso manual, que pero hay circunstancias donde se puede semi-automatizar

    I create the PO, then when i get the bill, i enter the item/s and then save the bill. Quickbooks then credits Accounts payables and Debited Inventory Asset. That is correct. However, it ALSO debits or credits COGS & Inventory asset with a 'RANDOM' figure. i cannot figure out how it calculates that figure or why it does that additional entry when the bill is done.

    I do have an important question about starting a fresh set of books or a start up company. When it comes to equipment depreciation, accrual, loans, shareholders, stocks etc. I know your a CPA but I'm only a bookkeeper so would I need to have a CPA to set those amounts prior to my set up of the books or would it be something that would be done by a CPA at end-of-year, then those amounts set into the coming year? If it is already an established company should I check with their CPA first before taking over the books to make sure the amounts in the accounts are correct? Would you tell the company that at their expense this would have to be done before taking over the books? Thank you so much.

      Typically ar year end is enough for the CPA to make all those manual adjustments.

    Thank you, you definitely know your stuff. I’m a techy but I just started using QB a month ago, I can follow all you mentioned but you provided way more than I think I need.

      Possible…. That 4 hours is about 20% of what the software can do

      No doubt this software is a monster. I took over my church’s finances, I’m finding stuff that were not done the right way. It can be daunting back tracking to correct things. I think that is my biggest hurdle. I’m no accountant, not even close but the Lord chose me for this job so here I go😳. I’ll watch the rest of your videos, you are a good teacher, maybe you’ll turn me into a CPA😂. Thank you again.

      @@linascibelli7592 yeah cleanup up past mistakes is the hardest thing even for CPAs to fix.
