Matthias Jabbs is the perfect Rock star. I saw the Scorpions at the US Festival in the 80's. The Scorpions put on the most energetic badass show I've ever seen. I'm an old guitar player that has played clubs/theaters and not much impresses me but Matthias is/was the perfect rock star.
I saw them at Nassau coliseum on long island, NY, dokken,white snake,opened, this was march of 2003,each band was fantastic, it felt like the eighties again, I love that you can remember you're youth again
He's actually a much better guitarist than this represents. I don't know why he does this.... I saw the Scorpions in 1979 on the Lovedrive Tour here in Seattle and I was super disappointed to see this stranger when I'd been expecting Michael Schenker for months... I wasn't impressed with Mattias. But last week I saw him showing a 1959 Les Paul with a Bigsby Tremelo Arm on it and he was playing just straight blues rock riffs and he'd finally gained my respect. Not like he, or anybody, needs my respect... I know he's a sweet heart of a guy... I just got burned that night in '79!!!

I'm sure the band loved playing there - that is one LOW energy crowd. I almost thought the were just polite Canadians.
The Scorpions are just average musically and are completely overrated.
