I need to do this to my ‘15 Lexus RC350. I brought it in to Lexus last month and of course the locks magically worked …. So the technicians said nothing was wrong. Wasted $280 diagnostic fee for nothing… now the lock on my driver side is broken again and I’m NOT paying ANOTHER $280 to get it looked at PLUS labor and parts. I’m gonna take this into my own hands (literally) and buy an actuator and get this done soon! Thanks for this video!

Bro, your vid is 16 mins so I thought it might take me 1 hour to do it since I’m not a mechanic and I’ve never done it before. Nope, took me 2 and half hours because I misaligned the actuator installing it the first time so after I closed up everything I had to undo it and do it again. Now everything is perfect! Man, you saved me HUNDREDS of dollars by not having to go to a dealership - I think I paid $60 for the part and the tools. Thanks so much bro 😉

If anyone has trouble getting the top part in and out… the top on the hinge side must slide under the riser at the top hinge side of the door. So when removing pick up on the latch end. Replacing go hinge side in and down first.
Just changed out the actuator on a 2006 IS250. Pretty much the same setup. Great tip on loosening the window rail. Thanks for the video!

Some dorman stuff is okay most dorman shit is crappy design or falls apart in five minutes or use theres also the occasional it doesnt even fit at all problem

Thanks for this video! It was a life saver. I refuse to give Sewell Lexus over 700$ for this repair. The part alone was 470$ plus tax! I bought the part on Amazon for 25$ (with 4.5 star reviews) and installed myself in a few hours. Had a few hiccups but I got it done! Women shouldn't be scared to fix their own cars. I did and you can too!!!

Thanks for the video. I was able to remove the panel but couldn't get the actuator out because the window rail was in the way and wasn't able to remove it. I messed up BIG TIME when I decided to put the penal back in place and take it to a professional. The green lock cable came off the door handle when I closed the door shut. Now neither inside nor outside handle open the door and the inside panel covers all the cables. I called AAA and they said to try using a coat hanger to pull the green wire and open the the door. I'm so bummed out. I'm going to try going to a body shop or locksmith to see if they can open the door without having to cut open and destroy the interior panel in order to get the door open. Do you have any suggestions or ideas? Please help

The reason those T-30 screws were easy to take off 8:30 , because that Actuator has been replaced already...Lexus are known for bad Door Locks.
I am not a certified mechanic but are supposed to check everything is working before you Putin everything back?
