Not mentioning the bloodbath charge blade has to be a federal crime, i got GU pretty late and didn't play much, but the bloodbath CB is one of few Deviant weapons I've maxed and it's an ABSOLUTE monster
For insect glaive specifically non elemental glaives were pretty wack since it benefits a lot from element. That being said the Elderfrost IG is borderline overpowered. Massive raw with positive affinity a good ammount of element and managable sharpness. The second best IG in the game.
there are heavy implications that the apex state in rise is a sort of Larval state of deviant monsters what with diablos having its colors matching an early version of blood bath.
Deviants and rises Alex's are entirely different things, the moves and coloring is just Capcom being lazy and copy and pasting them into rise. They arise from different conditions, there is not "larval" stage, becoming a deviant happens fast, for some of them.
i just hope they are gonna combined the APEX and Deviants together and bring some of them back while adding some new ones and there better be apex rajang this time and don't make him so pathetic again like how normal rajang was in rise. probably a bigger disapointment for me then bazel not being an invader anymore in iceborn.
I’m keeping my eye on Sun Break. Noob hunter here with my 1st title being World, I love that game (dropped like 200+ hours) but after playing Rise, I just felt empty. Cool video though
*laughs in 400h on PS4 and 700h on PC* :D Monster Hunter is indeed fun. Sure, the old monster hunter games were harder than World since there are a lot of quality of life improvements (restocking your inventory mid-hunt!!). But the most important thing is that you like the game franchise :D There are some good emulators to play the older games. Or if you own a switch, try out Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate :)
Are there any mods to convert true damage values to bloated ones ? I grew up with tri and 3 ultimate and since then despised every game with true values as it feels like i'm making no progress at all. I found many mods to convert bloated value to true ones in world for example, but none for the other way around. I just can't get myself playing this game and rise anymore cuz of it (although though they're not my favourite games from the series anyways). I just find it lazy that in the Mh games theres always just bloated or just true damage values instead of having the choice to chose for yourself.
For Gunlance: Long: Shelling Level is all that really matters. Paired some with Sharpness value. Combat is literally just charged shell on repeat. Wide: Shelling Level is primary concern, with next being Sharpness so you don't bounce. Combat is Poke, Shell on repeat. In World, eventually most of your damage would come from the poke, but it was still only like 54% at most. Normal: RAW, RAW, RAW, with some sharpness if you can manage it. Combat is the burst slam loop, so shells are a much smaller part of your damage, meaning the "standard" go-tos are what you want on your Normal GLance.
For most of the games, Long shelling was the dominant way of going about blowing up monsters, mostly for its wyvern fire buff. Among the deviants, the Silverwind GL was my favorite as it had high long shelling stats and great sharpness for sustained shelling. In GU though, the Snowbaron Gunlance would’ve been good for Valor normal shelling, as it had the highest sharpness combined with normal 5 among the deviant gunlances. Valor GL was especially busted as its full burst damage was exponential rather than linear. Each extra shell you had in your Gunlance did more damage than the last, and was paired well with Load Up. The amount of shells also affected the strength of the wyvern fire, which completely flipped the Gunlance meta on its head.
So do you think that Apex Zinogre SnS (if that's the case) in Sunbreak may be better than Astalos SnS? I have investigated both since I love Zinogre Thunder SnS so much, but don't know how Astalos weapon feels. I know his armor with Chain Crit may be meta for SnS. Zinogre SnS looks strong and powerful; however, Astalos looks more balanced. I hope we get Apex Zinogre SnS, no doubt.
Both are fairly good. Besides the weapon stats, Apex Zinogre SnS outshines Astalos SnS if they consider adding a special buff similar to MHGU (but I doubt it would happen).
I know that Apexes and Deviants are similar but for me, they are not the same. I think the Apex weapons should be just like the species mentioned above: similar but not the same

As a Glaive person I'd like to add on Hellblade's is fine and I actually like Stonefist's glaive as a deviant water option more than Soulseer's. Just manage between vault attacks and where the blue sharpness doesn't bounce and the damage pays off.
Malfestio can reuse the flying bird wyvern skeleton that Aknosom already uses. Plus, in the March story reveal trailer, there could be hints talking about the return of the hypnotized status- which is Malfestio's signature.
Don't you think it's too late? It doesn't even matter anymore. I'm already salty that we didn't get armor. Our "deviant weapons" are being replaced by rampage weapons. Apex materials are used in the final stage of rampage weapons
And some time ago i tried to replicate some of the Deviant Switch Axes stats via Rampage Weapons, at least in their final High Rank Version This is what i ended up creating: Grimclaw Axe (Lvl 10 Grimclaw Tigrex.) - 200 Damage, 10% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, 16 Dragon Phial Vs. Apex Grimclaw Axe - 210 Damage, 0% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, 30 Dragon Phial (Rampage Skills: Sharpness Type III, Non Elemental Boost, Dragon Phial III.) Massacre Hatchet (No High Rank Version, Bloodbath Switch Axe.) - 330 Raw Damage, -30% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, 8 Exhaust Phial Vs. Apex Bloodbath Axe - 250 Raw Damage, -30% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Power Phial (The Rampage Skills slots doesn't let me put Exhaust with the other skills i need.) (Rampage Skills: Attack Bonus IV, Non Elemental Boost, Attack Surge.) Dreadking Axe (Lvl 10 Dreadking Rathalos.) - 200 Damage, 32 Fire, 5% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Element Phial vs. Apex Dreadking Axe - 205 Damage, 27 Fire, 0% Affinity, Element Phial (Rampage Skills: Elemental Boost II, Fire III, Elemental Phial.) Dreadqueen Axe (Lvl 10 Dreadqueen Rathian.) - 190 Damage, 34 Poison, 10% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Power Phial Vs. Apex Dreadqueen Axe - 190 Damage, 20 Poison, 20% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Power Phial (Rampage skills: Empty Slot, Poison II, Affinity Surge.) Redhelm Axe (Lvl. 10 Redhelm Arzuros.) - 210 Damage, 10% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, 33 Poison Phial Vs. Apex Redhelm Axe - 210 Damage, 0% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, 30 Poison Phial (Rampage Skills: Sharpness Type III, Non Elemental Boost, Poison Phial III.) Deep Yearning (No High Rank Version, Soulseer Mizutsune.) - 240 Damage, 24 Water, 15% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Power Phial Vs. Apex Soulseer Axe - 205 Damage, 20 Water, 20% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Power Phial (Rampage Skills: Attack Boost IV, Water III, Affinity Surge.) Thunderlord Axe (Lvl. 10 Thunderlord Zinogre.) - 190 Damage, 32 Thunder, 10% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Element Phial Vs. Apex Thunderlord Axe - 205 Damage, 27 Thunder, 0% Affinity, Blue Sharpness, Element Phial (Rampage Skills: Element Boost II, Thunder III, Elemental Phial.) I made 6 of these based in the Apex Monsters in rise compared with their Deviant counterparts, and the Grimclaw because i love that weapon, and as you can see, even if they doesn't have the exact same stats, is not that hard to imitate the stats from MHGU in MH Rise, you can end up having something similar and, obviously, all of them have the Layered Weapon of their respective monster, and it was kinda funny to make these weapons and some other weapons based on MHGU versions (Like the Bone Axe with it's respective stats and Sharpness.)
11:06 most of the HBGs are normal, but a fair bit of people use Bloodbath to replace Diablastazooka (one of the top 3 in the meta) at the cost of some slight damage. It does has 10 less negative affinity so it is debatably interchangeable with Diablastazooka regardless it is crucial to run the negative affinity skill with the HBG regardless
For those who want to get into HBG the 3 meta weapons are Orcus Quarcus (Hyper Zinogre), Diablastazooka (Diablos), and Daora's Ceti (Kushala Daora) they all have Pierce 1 as their siege fire which is why they're the best options. Ceti and Orcus also have slicing ammo so you can get into valor faster, and they both have paralysis ammo (though Orcus also has para 2 and its a siege fire, it doesn't matter and you're not going to be able to rapid fire with it). Diablastazooka also has Normal 2 siege ammo and its great for long hunts though as I said earlier you can swap it out with Ivanus 5 (Bloodbath) as it also fills your art faster (but you'll usually have your art on hand anyways)
While Pierce IS the meta and for good reason, some good HBGs I use are Bergbasher (Duramboros) as it has Normal 1-3 as its siege, a lot of status shots, and 350 raw but 0% aff, it is also very slow and not worth it at the end of the day. I also use Akantor Descent it has Normal 2-3 siege, slicing ammo, and it has 340 raw and 40% with it being possible to reach 100% affinity without using tenderizer, it also has crag shots and triblast which is a triple crag, and tou can give your team a demon and affinity buff so a full team of akantor is absolutely nuts. Pierce still is the meta and these are easily outclassed by the top dogs by the ammo type alone
I found your channel from the deviant armor video and wow! Subscribed immediately. Your channel is one of the best monster channels out there! Hope your channel grows so much more!

MHGU is far more fun aesthetic and gameplay wise! ☝️
yea i havent played sunbreak either, pretty bad expansion

I know the final levels already because i play too much mh, but do it anyway because i will watch regardless :)
Rampage weapons don't count imo
you forgot bloodbath charge blade for raw
