      When we eat, insulin makes the fat cells open up and eat too and then they secrete the hormone leptin to go to the brain. That's how the brain knows that we eat. The brain reads leptin and sends it back to the fat cells to tell them to open up to release energy. When fat cells read the order from leptin they produce Adiponectin the key hormone that makes the fat cells to open up and release energy.
      But if the brain doesn't read leptin (propably genetics), the fat cells don't open so when they eat again, they will open again to fill up again, swell, become inflamed and then retain fluids to extinguish the inflammation. The water mixes with the fat and it is also becomes fat. So you gain weight by drinking water too.
      So the brain doensn't know that you eat. Then the brain thinks that you are starving so your body gets on starvation mode meaning that the brain make you storage everything you eat, zero metabolism and gets your ghrelin hormone higher to make you feel hungry to eat more.
      Leptin is responsible for the creation of the bones since birth. If you are born with high levels of leptin (genetics) then your leptin will make you have a heavy bone stracture to endure the future high obesity weight. Ghrelin on the other side has a very strange side effect. High levels of Ghrellin create a very strong muscle mass from the early age of 5 years old affecting and lowering insulin levels.

      So the best way to lose weight is to bypass the process where the brain doesn't read leptin and this is done with an adiponectin pill so the fat cells can release energy without creating more inflammation in the fat cell, no more fluid retention no more extra fat inside the fat cell. BUT the World Health Organization refuses to license a pill of adiponectin and leaves the obese to suffer.

      I'm really sorry to hear that you're dealing with stress and sleeping problems. It can indeed be challenging, but there are steps you can take to improve your situation.
      First and foremost, consider speaking to a healthcare professional or a therapist who can provide personalized guidance. Also, relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga might help alleviate stress. Creating a bedtime routine, avoiding screens before bed, and ensuring your sleep environment is comfortable and conducive to rest can improve your sleep quality. Remember, you're not alone in this journey, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Take care of yourself, and I hope you find the support and strategies you need to overcome these difficulties.

    • @drmorgannolte
      @drmorgannolte  Год назад +3

      Good question. Usually for women in perimenopause or just postmenopausal, it actually helps with insulin levels for a couple reasons. Estrogen is an insulin sensitizing hormone in the right amounts. The second is that they can really help some women sleep better, and better sleep reduces cortisol which lowers glucose and insulin.

    Is there a leptin diet?

    • @drmorgannolte
      @drmorgannolte  2 года назад +2

      The best diet to reduce leptin is the same to reduce insulin because high levels of insulin is what is driving the high levels of leptin. Insulin is your fat creation and storage hormone. Leptin is a hormone secreted by your fat cells. The more insulin --> more fat created --> more leptin. My program covers nutrition in detail (www.weightlossforhealth.com/join) or Dr. Bikman's book Why We Get Sick, or Dr. Fung's book The Obesity Code are great resources, too. It's vital to remember that diet (what you eat) is only part of an overall low insulin lifestyle. It's important but there are other lifestyle areas to optimize, too.

    She is not a medical doctor. She has a doctorate in physical therapy.

      Has your medical doctor explained leptin resistance to you? She’s understands more about this topic than most M.D.s. I’m always amazed at the comments people make when offered solid scientific explanations.

      @@janaleelukens7770 What scientific evidence? I'm a medical librarian, tell me what I'm missing. The literature and scientific consensus does not support "set point" for bodyweight. There is also no support that artificial sweeteners cause weight gain--in fact, these artificial sweeteners DO help, according to the consensus of the literature. You need to consult meta-analyses and systematic reviews, not cherry pick studies that sound good to you. I'm sorry your doctor sucks, but spreading health misinformation isn't a better solution.

      @@TheKrusso then why are the glp1 drugs so effective ? What’s the research say about glp1 medications?
      Artificial sweeteners destroy your gut miicro biome That’s why drinking diet soda does not result in weight loss.

    So, weight loss is a slow long-term project, not a quick fix.

    I have done so many crash diets(probably 5) now I'm feeling extreme hunger and fatigue. Is this the cause of it? What do I do to fix it?

      Yes your nutrition is directly related to your hunger and energy levels. I would suggest you watch my RUclips videos on nutrition for ideas on how to properly fuel your body and stop crash diets.
