It's funny how 90's country and emo rock just go together
you'd be surprised how many of the backing bands for the massive country singers were scene kids back in the day from smaller emo/punk/metal/metalcore bands
I mean they both share a lot of the same concept and music theory. Both are angsty and meant to spark feelings of nostalgia. Country just does it with more twang and punk with overdrive and distortion
I think good artists can do any song in any style. It’s about the interpretation and creativity.
