I dont know why some people, only seem to be interested in the popcultur of Japan. When I was there, I visited ancient shrines, I bought green tea from a Farmersmarket and visited the beautiful parks of Tokyo. I went to Akihabara once and we were so overhelmed by all these noises and lights, that we had to leave quickly. When you come to Japan try to explore the normal life. I rented a room in a small suburb of Tokyo and even slept on the floor. When I look back, these simple things were the best memories of my trip. Btw that doesnt mean, that I dont enjoy Mangas and all that stuff. ;-)
