Was anyone else who is Hispanic or know about Latin America/Spain's culture thinking about the story "Don Quixote" same pronunciation different spelling
Kira Holemon It's all about the gradual evolution of Spanish through time, in the time Don Quijote de la Mancha was written, the Spanish letters were a bit different and the letter "x" was the letter for the sound of modern "j". In fact, within the National History Museum in Mexico City you are able to find there some very old texts written in old Spanish that, actually, native speakers can barely read or understand, including me.
randomly found your videos searching Japanese Snack and had to subscribe! Your videos make me miss "home" sooo much! I just moved back to the US like 7 months ago. I lived there for 6 years. Definitely the best place ever.
I'm so absolutely obsessed with Japanese culture (and anime, and the people, and basically everything about it) T^T. thanks for making these videos~ one day I really hope to go to Japan.
@@alexmcamis420 Don Quixote is a "knight" (actually, somebody who buckled under the pressure of everyday life and decided to screw it all and become a knight) who rode on a donkey and tried to charge at and kill windmills. It's an old Spanish novel, and it's the inspiration for the name of the store!
Green Tea flavour kit kats. Sounds interesting. Does it really taste like Green Tea? Also, every time I hear Sharla say the name of the place I just end up thinking of Spain.
cmdfarsight They are Matcha green tea, which I should point out is a stronger flavor than green tea. When you drink Green Tea, it tends to be tea leaves boiled in water. Matcha however is green tea leaves ground down and dissolved in water as a whole. If I understand the process correctly...point is, it has a stronger flavor than green tea, and perhaps even a bit bitter to some. I tried a lot of green tea flavored things in Japan and some were very good, some were too bitter. It depends on who made the matcha and how much they use. I myself was not a fan of the Green Tea Kit Kats, though I loved Matcha smoothies and Matcha filled candies. I recommend paying as little as you can to try them, in case you don't like them and regret it. And if you do like them, then its even better because you paid so little.
アップロードありがとうございます~!! I love seeing videos of Japan, and the shops especially for some reason, so I'm grateful that you uploaded this :D I'd love to live there some day! :O
hi i just love your channel i subscribed a couple of days ago and i've been having a sharla maraton since then..i want to ask what is your job like what do you work there
Oh man, I have a love hate relationship with Donki. I can only go in the less crowded and confusing ones. I actually had a panic attack one time when I went in the Kabukicho one because I got really dazed from the lights and crowding. I've also noticed they've taken to building "Mega" Donkis everywhere. There's one near my apartment now, but I noticed the Mega Donkis lack the canned vagina section, w.
I have a hate-hate relationship with Donki. Most of the stuff on offer is cheap junk made in China. I guess you have to be a backpacker on a tight budget to appreciate this place. ^_-
***** Well Donkihote are basically similar to the dollar store, so yeah, a lot of shitty products there, but they are not too terrible sometimes. On the other hand, Walmart..... enough said.
Thank so much for sharing what u experiencein Japan through those clips❣ Sharla, would you please let us know where is the Mega Donkihote? I like Japan too. Their attitude of work, sincerity in doing things and politeness are adorable. We can find how they are considerate on consumers/customers via using products and services. Thanks a lot❣
dparmar005 I literally kept looking through the whole comment section just to find anybody else who thought this. And I found you. xD I know the Hispanic Don Quixote, we read it in Spanish class, but Doflamingo is where my mind went immediately.
This is the first time im watching your video's and they are amezing! i went in 2011 to japan and i can't wait going back or maybe study there, your video's are making me to look forward to ga back! xoxo a girl from The Netherlands (Europe)
I've just found you channel and I'm loving it! Already subscribed! ^^ I'm planning to live in Japan in a few years and your videos have a lot of useful information for me. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Every time you said DONKIHOTE, I kept remembering my Spanish class in school, because I read a book named Don Quijote for the class, and its pronounced the EXACT same way.
It's actually Don Quijote like the book but spelled differently for convenience reasons among other things. I grew up with them and it was always weird that a primarily Japanese store had a name like that n_n
yes. ドンキホーテ sells many items from imported foods to adults goods. ドンキホーテ seems to line up items to appeal young generations compared to other import shops such as やまや.
Shibuya, Harajuku, Tokyo Tower (Skytree is probably nice too, but I haven't been there yet so I'm not sure), Ueno Zoo... those are some of my favourite places :)
wow love them hearts and happy faces, they don't have that here in America. Also in 5:40 the fireworks looks like cherry blossoms or some kind of flower.
Oh my heck Sharla. I loved the whole video, but at the end when you said you loved Matcha Kit-Kat's I was like "come again?" Those were literally the only candy there that I DIDN'T like. xD And I thought I would really like them too
If I ever go to Japan, I most likely will be broke the first day there. So many cute things! ^-^
TAKE ME TO JAPAN !!
Japan is like Disney World, except the whole country is Disney world.
Was anyone else who is Hispanic or know about Latin America/Spain's culture thinking about the story "Don Quixote" same pronunciation different spelling
Kira Holemon I was! Mostly because my name is Dulcinea xD
OMG !!!! sooo crazy !

It's actually called Don Quijote not don Quixote...
+Avarazzi in old Spanish it was written as Dont Quixote but times change and now its written with "j"
i wanted to go to japan before i watched this video...now i REALLY want to go to japan x.x

You mean you're a weeaboo... ? an otaku... ?
Ota-cool :3 .... by the way, weaboo is offensive. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't call people who love Japan that.
Well that's what weeaboo means
Well yes, but otaku means generally the same thing and is less offensive. :T
they are are both really offensive
Definitely do it! You won't be disappointed!!
Today I went to Donkihote in Akihabara.. where did you filmed this? Akiba wasn´t so good :/
Hey, I just moved to Japan, and your videos are very helpful. My wife and I reference them all the time! Thank you so much!
All I can think about is Don Quixote.
Cassie Stevens that’s the name of the store but Japanese pronunciation is Donki Hote or Donki for short
kill the windmill
@@blairguidry3227 what??

hmm, I want a dragon on my yukata :3 :D And a gundam phone charger?! Waaay better than Walmart lol
My favorite part about Don Quijote is the themesong that endlessly plays. I miss it and it's only been 9 months...
Green Tea flavour kit kats. Sounds interesting. Does it really taste like Green Tea? Also, every time I hear Sharla say the name of the place I just end up thinking of Spain.
***** Yeh makes sense lol will have to try one

In my case my old apartment was furnished when I rented it, so I didn't own many of the things myself. So I had to buy some new stuff when I moved.
Wow I would go nuts in that store. It's like the japanese version of Walmart. Looks like fun just to look around in.
