Why This Woman Called 911 to Order Pizza
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 14 окт 2024
- When an Ohio woman called 911 on Nov. 13 to report that her mother was being abused, she couldn't explicitly say what was happening with the alleged attacker nearby, so she pretended to order pizza. Tiffany Urban is the quick-thinking daughter who made the 911 call. “I was thinking to myself that, ‘I need to call 911, order pizza,’” she told Inside Edition. 911 Operator Tim Teneyck said he quickly caught on that Urban needed help, and thanks to her bravery, help arrived for her mom. #InsideEdition
Luckily that dispatcher knew what she was talking about or else there would’ve been a huge misunderstanding
She was lucky her dispatcher was smart. Any other lesser dispatcher might have gotten the woman arrested for misusing 911. Im just glad that her plea for help was answered
He didn't hang up and gave her a chance to be clear
The dispatcher did an excellent job and I'm not sure if a lesser experienced dispatcher would have caught on so fast. Here 's a conversation that might have occurred with a lesser experienced dispatcher:
Lady: I want to order a pizza.
Dispatcher: Lady, you got the wrong number.
Lady: I want it with pepperoni.
Dispatcher: Lady, you on drugs? Do me a favor and call Domino's (hangs phone up).
@@silversunset yes because we've heard some 911 operators that were not too bright, screwed up the call, or were disrespectful to the caller.
Amen praise the Lord 🙏👍
This dispatcher deserves a raise and there should be a code for people who need help like this to use
But if there is a known code, the abusers would know it too.
Kotago I agree but it could be something simple like ordering a pizza 😂
@@ToriNoHiko exactly what I was saying
I've heard of this trick before. I guess it's not that well known
@@SavageThrifter Yes I've heard of it as well. Seems like the 911 operator would have been told about it in his training.
This dispatcher would really appreciate a pizza for his quick thinking.

This was done before.
Yes this man is extremely smart. Other dispatchers ask so many retarded questions. This was commin sense and this guy deserves a big reward
@@MsEliteForever I doubt if u were an operator and someone called and asked for a pizza u would get it right away
” How did you know she was talking in code??”
Uhm, coz she said ”NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, ur not understanding!”
Thats what I'm thinking the whole time. Code is definitely not the right word
There was another dispatch call where a woman ordered pizza as well. But the operator wasn't a dumbass like this guy and got it right away. Probably where this lady got the idea from.
Ellie Lannister Calling him a dumbass is harsh. People call 911 for stupid reasons all the time.

This was the wrong number to call for pizza. But the caller was not really calling for a pizza.
“They don’t encourage it” ok. How is someone who’s being abused going to get help then? Get out. Everyone order a pizza.
They don't encourage it because there's no way to guarantee that the operator will get it. The quality of 911 operators will vary dramatically.
Just text 911 🤷♂️
You see, you can’t differentiate between pranks and distress calls. And there’s apps and services for these exact scenarios
@@Effect_FX which is why they should make it a recognized code and train operators to understand what is meant by it
They don't want to give anyone the false impression that this is a secure method. What she did was a good gamble, but a gamble still.
The fact that the operator know exactly what was going on and didn’t ignore her plea for help there’s a very good thing.
I’m very glad that she got that monster out of there
Text to 911 is also becoming a things, but unfortunately, not all cities have. if they had this in place everywhere, she could have just texted 911 to avoid alerting him without resorting to this pizza thing. Its good he caught on but i do think we should make text to 911 available for situations like this where we need to get 911 without alerting suspicion.
@@joemann7971 I have always wondered about that I mean it seems like a no-brainer if you're being held hostage and secretly have your phone you should be able to text you need help
@@princeofallnegros4035 A hostage situation is actually a great example for why this is needed. Some cities have this, but we need to have this nationwide. Having the ability to automatically send your location to police would also be beneficial, so you're not freaking out trying to find the address.

Theo
You’re seriously blaming the victim here? If she left he may have hunted her down and killed her. Or possibly her finances were tied to his and if she left she would have no money. Her boyfriend could have stalked her. There is a lot of reasons why people don’t leave abusive relationships right away. It could be because of then rationalizing their partners actions, not recognizing it as abuse, or the possibility that they might be in more danger if they leave on their own accord.

Every dispatcher should be given some training in recognizing someone who needs help and uses code.
This is actually something that should be in the dispatcher’s training cause this is brilliant!! It’s not like a person going through domestic violence can call & straight out say the reason they’re calling for in every situation. This keeps the people in the home safe. This should be an option worldwide, it shouldn’t be discouraged cause calling the police is a dangerous situation for people being abused.
